      I've been exposed to it a bit through yoyoing since both are in the same genre of a skill toy. I think they're great if you can do the tricks, but as a tool, I'd rather carry any other knife. I'd rather not carry a karambit either. I know a friend of a friend who acts all badass with his, but everyone knows he's just an edge lord with it. I carry an OTF, but at least it's usable as a knife.

    In Indonesia, karambit knife is actually a hidden weapon that is often associated with Tiger style silat. This particular style has a very low stance with finishing their opponents on the floor so you could imagine how dangerous it would be if they had a knife in their hands

  • @geofff.3343
    @geofff.3343 Год назад +147

    Fun fact: The karambit belongs to the list of dedicated tools weaponized. It started life as a knife used for cutting material into strips and root cutting more specifically. That's why it has a strange curve to it and is held in reverse grip. It allows the user to get a good pull going.
    The butterfly knife is just an unusual switchblade style knife, and is illegal to carry in a lot of places.

    • @-jax-3631
      @-jax-3631 Год назад +3

      Reverse grip is bad if you're sword fighting, if you brought a knife to a sword fight you fucked up anyways. If you know what you're doing the reverse grip for knife fighting is very effective. Just think about how dangerous a mma fighter or a boxer is, then attach knives to his fists.
