I can't even fathom the emotions of that man who has been a season ticket holder for 65 years...
I look at him and I see my late father sitting in the old Rockpile rooting for the brand new Buffalo Bills in 1960.

That’s one thing I’m proud of about being from Detroit….the fans are loyal to the bitter end.
My family has had season tickets for 52 years now. I am 23 years old and have gone to every Lions home game I can make it to for the last 12 years. I started going with my dad and I'll always be grateful he was a diehard football fan. I really wish he was here tonight to see this.
My grandfather was a longtime Lions season ticket holder, 20+ years. So sad he wasn’t able to see this Lions team, because he passed away in 2015. I’ve been pretty emotional since the end of the game wishing we could’ve watched this game together tonight.

Detroit and their fans have deserved this moment for a long time. From 0-16 in 2008 to breaking a 32 year drought in 2024. Absolutely incredible win for the Lions.

I'm an Eagles fan and have been since the 90's. Since the Lions have little to do with my team, I've always rooted for them to be a good team and have a good year. I like them for some reason. You start to get bored of the same good teams every year, Pats, Packers, Steelers, Ravens, watching the same teams in the Superbowl year after year. You start to root for teams that haven't been good in a long time, Lions, Browns, Bills. I'm glad they finally have a team that could do something. I've been there.

Buffalo fan here. I had two friends back in the 90's, they were brothers from Pontiac MI and they loved their Lions. We used to rib each other back and forth over who had it the worse. Lol
They both served their country in the Marines and both passed away before the age of 50.

Every once in a while sports bring a tear to my eyes. Saints. Eagles. Cubs. Even the vikings playoff game. Now this. Just wonderful to see.
I feel the same way, doesn’t matter who you are a fan of. The Bengals winning their first playoff game in 31 years a couple years ago was special to me as well as the Mariners and Kings breaking their long playoff droughts. Seattle’s way they did it felt like something out of a movie with a walk off home run to send them to the playoffs after 21 years.
Man the sheer emotion in the crowd moved me to tears and I'm not even a Lions fan. This is beyond words. Congratulations Detroit

I can only imagine what seeing that must have been like. Ive been a fan since i was 10, back in '03. My father also was around during that time of the last championship. It breaks my heart knowing he's no longer around to see this. However I'm that much more thankful that you're able to witness this resurgence. Maybe it's not a NFL Title....yet...but still. Nice to see fans from other teams congratulating the Lions. As a Bills fan I remember the feeling when we won against the Colts 3 seasons ago after more than 20 years without a playoff victory. Go Lions for today and Go Bills for tomorrow.
Patriots fan here and I remember when your Bills were in the middle of that 18 year playoff drought, I felt happy for them just getting in and even happier when they got that playoff win against the Colts alongside making the AFC Championship game. It’s crazy how we are in a world where the Browns, Lions, Bills, Texans, and Jaguars are all good teams in the same year with Jacksonville barely missing the playoffs but still finished 9-8 on the season.
Ugh, the Colts had been a thorn in my Chiefs side during our 2-decade drought, didn't matter if it was in the Wild Card round or after a first round bye.

As a Patriots fan of 21 years, I am saying a major congratulations to the Lions for their first playoff win in 32 years, very well earned and much deserved. The city of Detroit has needed something like this for a long time and I’m really hoping this kickstarts a deep playoff run similar to what the Bengals pulled off in 2021 once they broke their 31 year playoff win drought, but the Lions being the team to complete the job.

I’ve lived in southeast Michigan for my entire life. My dad is a huge Lions fan and I’m a pretty big Lions fan myself, of course. My first memories of football and the Lions were the 2007 and 2008 seasons, back when I was 5 or 6, and one of the biggest memories from that was just how much they lost, and how frustrated that made my dad, and I always hoped that someday we’d get to see more consistent success, and my dad (and I) wouldn’t have to be so frustrated by this team we wanted to badly to succeed. Tonight I got to watch the Lions win their first playoff game in my lifetime, and the first playoff game the Lions have won since my dad was in high school, and I got to share that moment with my dad. This was absurdly important to me and him, and I can say with confidence there are many more people all around our great state who got to experience moments just like that tonight. Thanks to all of those who made this win happen, and no matter what we encounter going forward, I will always remember this day.

In 1991, the Lions beat the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs. 16 years later, the Lions went 0-16 in 2008. 16 years after that, in 2024, the Detroit Lions win a playoff game helmed by none other than number 16. Good job Detroit -- from a Green Bay fan.

Since I returned to Detroit from the US Army in 1983, the Tigers, Pistons and Red Wings have all won championships. Let's hope the Lion's finally close the deal! This is great!
If the Lions pull it off this year, then we’d be talking about one of the greatest championship runs in sports history. A team that hasn’t made the playoffs in 7 years, wins their first division title in 30 years, gets their first playoff win in 32 years, and wins their first championship in 66 years alongside their regular season tying their most wins ever could line up to be a run that may never be replicated in any other sport. Also not to mention a worst to first turnaround in 2 years from 3 wins a couple years ago to Super Bowl champions
Back in 1997 I was at the Bucs first home playoff game in 18 years. The feeling in the stadium when they got into victory formation to finish off the win (ironically they beat the Lions) was rapturous. It was like the whole town got their self-respect back. I know just how those Lions fans felt.
