Was Kashmir better than Stairway to Heaven? Or was it as iconic?

Sorry to the Stairway to Heaven fans! but I think Kashmir is now my favourite 😅 😅
Mine too 😎😎
Its hard to pick a favourite lead Zeppelin song Kashmir is brilliant so is Dazed and Confused, Immigrant song and many others. I would say Black Dog is my favourite lead Zeppelin song. To be honest I don't think it matters which song you pick I'm sure you will Enjoy it.
Try, When the Levee breaks next , it's a killer of a tune..thanks for uploading
According to the guys from the band it was theirs too. Jimmy Page said it was the song Kashmir not Stairway to Heaven that they wanted Led Zeppelin to be remembered by.
Influenced by world music..their music has a very wide variety of styles is why I love Led Zep! They have some songs they did with the Bombay Orchestra of the expanded release of the album Coda.
The song Fool in the Rain takes you to South America and the Immigrant Song takes you to Iceland. They make you feel differently on each song! Loved your reaction!
I saw Led Zeppelin in concert in 1969 and 1970. They hadn't recorded this song at that time but it is one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs.
"When the Levee Breaks", "Tea for One", "Dancing Days", "Misty Mountain Hop", "The Rain Song". "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You". Just to name a few.
Don’t forget John Paul Jones, Zeppelin’s secret weapon! He’s the one who wrote the string arrangement.
Wow, that may be your best reaction yet. Can never get enough of young people digging the music of my youth. Thanks and take care.
Nice sweet real deep reaction...by the way you have a real sweet voice...so mellow so smooth. Hola from Madrid, Spain.
You certainly don't need to apologize for liking this more than "Stairway". This is definitely "Peak" Zeppelin. Hell this may be "Peak" Rock n Roll.
Great reaction. Plants voice in 1974 was still raspy after his throat operation the year before. That's why Zeppelin didn't tour that year. The first year they didn't.
Cheers.
Since I've Been Loving You.
Check out the Kennedy Center Honors where they honored Led Zeppelin. An amazing production and Heart did an amazing job covering Stairway to Heaven with a choir and an orchestra and with Jason Bonham on drums. The Led Zeppelin members gave them a standing ovation. You can find a number of vids on RUclips of this event. The Heart cover takes about 8 minutes. The entire homage to Led Zeppelin takes around 20 minutes. You’ll love it!
This is my fav Zep song. What I love the most about this song is it climaxes as the song goes on. The drums especially get stronger as well as the vocals. You should listen to the Celebration Day LIVE version of Kashmir in 2007. They are all older and it is amazing!
You should watch the video for Led Zeppelin live in concert of "Since I've Been Loving You" from the 1973 concert in Madison Square Garden
No, that whole MSG show is terrible (they were too drunk and played sloppy)...the 1969 Danish (black and white) TV appearance, and the 1970 Royal Albert Hall performance (both here on youtube) blow that crap out of the water.
@@RP_Williams funny
Every one of their tunes will become your favorite. Their catalogue is a cornucopia of great music! You have to do them live, for how good they are on vinyl, they are even that much better live! The GOATS! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 In my time of Dying is one of their great blues tunes! You have to check out the 1973 Garden concert, in particular...Since I’ve been loving you. You have started a wonderful music journey called Led Zeppelin
Since I’ve been loving you live at Madison Square garden.
I take long car drives listening to this. As well as watch sunset at the beach to Kashmir. I fall asleep listening to, "The Rain Song"
Eight minutes?? Wow, that is a long car drive.
@@Cosmo-Kramer I do play, "Kashmir 4 times in a row. So thats 24 mins and counting. Then I move on to, "Misty Mountain Hop", that gets about 3 repeats. Next onto, "The Ocean", and end it off with, "The Lemmon song.
I have a totally different list to relax to and a different one to sleep to.
@@lethaldose2000 That's odd, to repeat them so much. Zep's got about 50 high-quality songs in their 90-song catalog. There's no need for such repetition. You'll burn out on songs, if ya keep that up.
In the year 2121 Led Zeppelin will continue to be the greatest band to ever grace the stage. There are no bad Zep songs they are all timeless masterpieces. If you are a true Zep Newbie. Welcome to the fam. To take in this journey and to fully understand the greatness of this band. You need to start at the very beginning, with the album that forever changed how Rock music was Composed, Performed, Produced and Marketed. Jimmy Page, Guitarest and producer, Produced all their albums to be played in full. On FM radio that was new in 1968. So that's how a newbie should hear them. Keeping in mind Jimmys studio productions were unlike anything any band has ever did before. So by starting at the beginning you will hear and experience the total growth and the huge diversity of each song. It is like from the first song, Good Times Bad Times, you think wow this is really good, then you can't wait to hear the next song to follow, Babe im Gonna Leave You. It is totally different and your like ya this is even better than the first. And you have your first favorite led Zeppelin song. By the time side 1 is over with Dazed and Confused. You think ok this is my new fav. Because side 2 cant be as good as side 1? Right? But it is. You are now thinking every song on this album is so good every song becomes your favorite for different reasons..Then you just can't wait to hear what the 2nd album would be like. Because it can't get any better than the first. But trust me it does, with each song it just gets better and better. And from each album you will hear something new and different. You still haven't herd a bad song. And each song still blows you away. By Led Zeppelin III you are totally hooked and become a fan. When you finish your journey, You will understand exactly the reason why Led Zeppelin is considered to be the greatest band of a time. There music has inspired every band that followed. There are many great bands. But to be the first band to infuse different aspects into their music. Jimmy Page was a genius. The Greatest Band to ever grace the stage. They were then, they are today and they will forever be tomorrow.Timeless masterpieces
Zeppelin is a practically every song is great group. You’ll come to realize that too as you progress through their repertoire
like the song itself, you are both tremendously insightful and exceedingly beautiful
Just Lovely reaction 💕 and yes influenced by different cultures ... through Zeppelin in the 70's i was introduced to American country and Chicago electric blues, Folk music, North African and Indian music, mysticism and of course, Lord of the Rings JRT
This band set the bar so high that it helped make other bands better
I have much a better understanding of their music now than when I was a teenager, theyre like a fine wine🍷
It is really hopeful when you see a younger generation appreciate this song. This is my all time favorite song period ! You rock ! You should listen to the Led Zep song "All of my love" Robert Plant wrote this one after he lost his young son. This is Plants favorite song. Kashmir was his favorite accomplishment to write the words to Jimmy Pages chords.
Another great saga song of theirs is Achilles last Stand
Roberts first wife was from India. Jimmy and Robert spent time there, the lyrics might have been inspired by Roberts time in Morocco but you can hear the influence in the music from the time they spent in India.
Greatest band ever! Do their live performances!!
Plant was inspired when him & Page were driving through The Sahara Desert, they were on their way to a music festival. Plant fell in love with Morocco, & to this day still visits often. In the 1990’s Plant & Page toured together, they created a band with musicians from the area around Morocco. I believe the wasteland referred to was actually the desert, & not about Morocco etc.
First - Never interupt Kashmir!
Glad you loved it. Most do...
if she doesn't interrupt the song she can't do the song. This is why it is a reaction video. However, I understand the sentiment, and the flippancy. Have a happy fourth!
@@thomasblock1164 A reaction video doesn't mean "when" the reaction is given, and it definitely doesn't mean throughout the song is required to be a reaction video.
You really feel the music...appreciate your reaction! (From an old bloke who was lucky enough to see them play live)!
I honestly can’t think of a BAD Zeppelin song. There may be a couple I don’t necessarily prefer, but they are all very good to genius compositions.
I know many actually like this, but I think "Thank You" is a bad song.
@@clevellbarney8917 are you high? what's bad about it?
@@pandachips17 Sappy, slow, boring. I always skip it on record and CD. Kills the vibe of Led Zep II. Has none of the dynamics of every other LZ song. Some nice guitar and drum work as usual, but... I guess they needed to do something for the chicks, so they should have called it "You're Welcome."
@@clevellbarney8917 Yeah you’re alone there lol. But kudos for your honesty. You do you boo
Clevell Barney
I don't think you 'get'. Zeppelin. Zeppelin were all about being different. Not having the same style and vibe in every song. Thank You is gorgeous and fits well on II. Its no more out of place on that album than What Is And What Should Never Be or Ramble On.
There is a group called Bond. They are a cello, two violas and a violin. If you would have taken Bond and have them play along with Zep in concert-it would have been awesome (they also played Kashmir).
In studio Led Zeppelin always layered their sound, which they couldn't reproduce in concert. RUSH always layered their sound in studio but also reproduced it in concert-3 guys in concert but it sounds like 8 guys. Check out 2112.
In my band, we do a few led zeppelin songs. One, we start with Dazed and Confused, then switch over to how many more times, then back into dazed and confused. We also combine the led zeppelin song thank you with sweet child of mine by guns n roses (since they have the same cord progression), and then back into Thank you.
' Babe I'm gonna leave you ' is a great next choice. There are so many great Zep tunes that any choice is a good one. Ty for the great reaction!
Kashmir is their best and my personal favorite
Might be mine too now! 🤭
@@houseofmash5748 When the Levee Breaks is also a favorite very bluesy
Absolutely ❤️ your reaction to KASHMIR. 👍🔥 I have Led Zeppelin 1 playing in my car. By far Led Zeppelin is the greatest Rock n Roll band to walk this planet. With that said, BAND-MAID is the GREATEST ROCK-N-ROLL Band of the 21st century. You must check out BAND-MAID, "Onset" live first, then "Play", second. Trust me you won't be disappointed 🙏
And GJ on your reaction channel, quality sound and picture 👍
Black Dog is another great Zeppelin song that I love. It's never too late to get the Led out!
If you like this one, you should check out the live version from their Celebration day concert. The original drummer is replaced by his son, who absolutely nails the drum performance.
🎯🎯 yes, so much of their music takes you on the journey with them. I go on it every time I listen. I was in high school and I had never heard anything like it, love that Bonham’s almost playing with the time underneath it all. Best band ever. No apologies necessary in putting this at the top. 👍🎶🎶
THE FIRST TIME I HEARD THIS SONG WAS IN A MOVIE CALLED (FAST TIMES AT REDGEMONT HIGH } WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER IN THE 80'S
Have you ever watched a person sit atop a camel as it moves along? The beat of this song so masterfully portrays that motion. I agree that it might be the best LZ song, but there are so many great other ones too, such as "You Shook Me," and "Dazed and Confused" - the Madison Square Garden video, or "Since I've Been Loving You" - also from MSG video! I love your reactions. Please do some more LZ!!!!!
You have fallen down the Rabbit Hole. Welcome to Led Zep. The song was also used in "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" for their first date in a car. Since you like the textures and backing sounds they were doing, you should check out "Ten Years Gone" from the same album and try to count how many guitars parts are being used. Enjoy!
Don't worry about people criticising your interruptions. These people know the song and if they just want to hear the song they can go directly to the video. I am interested in hearing the reactions of young people to the music that I grew up with. You did a great job: firstly you did some research which was great; secondly you actually reacted and I could see/hear exactly what parts were affecting you. You were right there was a lot of North African musical influence in this. There is a live version where they play with an Egyptian orchestra which really brings this out. That is the whole essence of Led Zeppelin, they take in a wide range of musical influences and make it their own, The result is a lot of very different songs in their catalogue. Another of my favourites that you may wish to consider is "When the Levee Breaks" which is actually based on a Mississipi Blues song from the 1920s and totally different to Stairway and Kashmir
Thank you so much Mick!
@@houseofmash5748 Good evening !. You can also listen to their song "The Battle of Evermore" which came out in 1971. As far as I'm concerned; it's my favorite song by them.
I remember back in high school when this song came out and everyone was like what the hell is this! This is not Zepplin!!! But it grew on you. It was so different from anything they'd done. When I hear it now it's so Zepplin! Classic glad your digging it!
"No Quarter," from the Houses of the Holy album
"In the Light," also from the 'Physical Graffitti album
"Achilles Last Stand," from the 'Presence album
"In the Evening," from 'In Through the Out Door'
and for a bonus... the non-album track "Traveling Riverside Blues"
For other epic rock songs, you may also enjoy "Stargazer" by the the band Rainbow, "Valley of the Kings" by the band Blue Murder and "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" by Iron Maiden.
Kashmir. 8 and a half minutes of pure goodness. And i think it's not long enough. I often listen to it 2 and 3 times on repeat. Awesome awesome riff. Awesome lyrics and vocals. Now you can listen to, "The Rain Song".
I love your honest reaction. I must say that theres nothing sexier than a beautiful girl getting into Led Zeppelin.
Having ssid that here are s few songs i kow you will love. "Since ive been Loving You" 1973 live at Madison square garden. Also from that same show "The Song Remains the same/ The Rain Song" and "Whole latta Love" then 1975 live at earls court. "In my time of dying" and "Going to California" if you really want to be blown away react to the 25 minute live performance of "Dazed and Confused" i cant wait to see your next reaction
Bruh wtf
Ash, not only is Led Zeppelin my favorite band, but, "Kashmir", is my favorite song of ANY band of ALL TIME! Your reaction was terrific, and so I just smashed that "SUBSCRIBE" button on your page moments ago! I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to see you reacting to the studio version first, as that should always be the case. Second reactions down the road for the live versions of songs you really love will also draw lots of viewers. But as a rule, studio first, so that you can experience the song the way the band meant for you to experience it. Especially a band like Zeppelin, who did such complex things in the studio they just couldn't replicate on stage. Let me leave you with a request for another one of my favorite Zep tunes. it's called, "Hey Hey What Can I Do", and it's a charming song about a love-torn Robert Plant (the lead singer) and his girlfriend who's taken infidelity to the extreme (she's a prostitute). I guarantee you'll love it! Here is the best link to use:
"Hey Hey What Can I Do": ruclips.net/video/5GMYouYit6k/видео.html
You really need to watch the Celebration Day live version. The band is in their 60s. The original drummer John Bonham died on sept 25th 1980. His son Jason Bonham performs with them on this concert, it is OUTSTANDING. Please go watch it, you wont be sorry!
Kashmir is one of those songs that gets better each time you listen to it. Got 3 LedZep recommendations that I am certain that you would enjoy: Dazed and Confused; Immigrants Song; and my personal favorite, When the Levee Breaks. Best to you.
How ace is this!
Plant has said that Stairway was his least favourite song to sing, and Kashmir was his all-time favourite.
Everyone does When The Levee Breaks but why not the studio version of In My Time Of Dying?
What makes many consider Zeppelin as the greatest band ever is the sheer volume of masterpieces. If you loved this song there are 50 more you need to listen to
Physical Graffiti and Presence are criminally under-rated albums. Zep's best in my opinion. Please do more reactions from those albums!
I think "Physical Graffiti," for as awesome as so much of the music is, is a hugely overrated album. And that's all about the sequencing. It would have worked better as two single albums, and its versatility doesn't add up in the way it does on the White Album of the Clash's "Sandinista!" or Captain Beefheart's "Trout Mask Replica." That said, it's got so much incredible music.
LZ “Ten Years Gone” will knock your socks off.
The beginning and end are epic--the middle part is weak and unfortunately ruins the song.
"I don't how this could even be topped" --It couldn't and it never was. It was truly great ONE time---this '74 studio version. It was like catching lightning in a bottle. All the live Zeppelin versions of this song that followed were very good but they weren't this good. Even Zeppelin themselves couldn't equal this original version. That's how stellar it was. This was next level..
Check out the live version from Knebworth 1979. Amazing. Also, check out The Rain Song lot of orchestration in it as well.
Now the Studio version you just heard, they Had the the Help of The London Symphony Orchestra 🎶!! You can CLEARLY Hear The Both Brass & String Sections in this!! And yes you can Also hear John Paul Jones on the Keyboards!!
There is a version where they are backed by the Egyptian philharmonic orchestra that is truly amazing.
Now watch the live performance from their “reunion “ concert in 2007 in London called Celebration Day It was magnificent! Robert’s voice was even better if you can believe it
The Rain Song for a different take on their awesome talent
This song is pure genius. Written by the hand of a rock god. Page outdid himslf on this one. Plants vocals spot on.
Zep is Love. Zep is Life. It matters not which is your fave
When the Levee Breaks - Whole Lotta Love - Black Dog - Since I've Been Loving You 🎧 💓 🎶
Also used in the movie fast time at ridgemont high
Robert plant vocal.jimmy page guitar.john Bonham drums.john Paul Jones keyboard
Robert said he thought this was their signature song.
Dazed and Confused please, you'll love it
A word of helpful advice for your Rock reactions.
Unlike todays mono track recorded music, Rock music back in the day were recorded with stereophonic properties, meaning different instruments were separated in the sense-surround (left and right channel) audio experience.... which means wearing a good pair of headphones [on Both ears, not one] is the key to a true dynamic listening experience and hearing the music as it was intended to be heard.
Not having headphones on both ears is doing it a dis-service and missing Half the sound.
Listen to Good Times Bad Times and When The Levy Breaks or Heart Breaker. We worked with them a few times and there are many great ones.
Trampled underfoot, in my time of dying, nobody's fault but mine, out on the tiles. These are all good starting points
Exactly my suggestions! So I'll give you a LIKE, and add this- if I may: add In the Evening, and suggest watch the live versions, to build expertise, and have fun.
Zeppelin also mad the song titled immigrant song which is an amazing sing and was featured in the movie Thor
Greatest band ever....if you can do Since I've Been Loving You the studio version first because you are a new to the band and the live version will be too intense the first time...just subscribed!
Everybody, listen to Bobby, he knows the score--first reactions of a song should always be the STUDIO version! Then, for those songs you dig big-time, and would like to see and hear them perform it live, listen to it on your own, or better yet, do a separate reaction to it live down the road (or, heck, the next day). Believe me, Zep fans will show up for both!
@@Cosmo-Kramer 🙌
Good choice
“I don’t know how this could be topped” The song Remains The Same/The Rain Song: “Hold my beer”
Now it's time to add "In The Light" and "Ten Years Gone" to your favorites list from the same album.
Battle of Evermore. Listen please. You will love it.
One of my favorite Zep tunes!
Love this song. Even more so - the Indian version with Najma Akhtar.
A song so good that India and Pakistan are fighting over it. I wouldn't hold on too hard to your favorite Zeppelin tune. It's likely to keep changing as you discover new songs. It is hard to top this but still, Zeppelin has dozens of great songs. Check out a few such as Over the Hills and Far Away, In My Time of Dying or Dazed and Confused. Enjoy one of the best journeys.
Check out the live unplugged version. With traditional musicians
I didn't know Ash was reacting to music.....cool!
And yes, Kashmir is a better song (and more daring, more edgy)....but Stairway is more 'palatable for the masses', and is i believe the most played song in history on radio stations.
Lots of people already recommended Since I've Been Loving You. Some say that Kashmir is "girls' favorite" and SIBLY appeals mostly to boys. Don't get me wrong, both are the best for me, but I love each of them with different sides of my personality. There is a third one too, very personal for me, totally above any comparison - Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp, the song about Plant's dog.
I greatly appreciate your prespective
Kashmir is amazing and one of the most powerful rock songs.
Try the Battle of Evermore as well. It may not be epic in length like Kashmir and like Stairway, but it is epic in story and feel.
Well if you consider saving up my hard earned money, about $13 or $14 for the double LP, from working after school and running to the record store and buying this in 1975, then yes! This was also used in the 1998 movie Godzilla. This one became my favorite Zeppelin tune after the first listen. I'd been listening to them since their first album in 1969 so there was a load of music to pick from. They do a great live version from the concert for Ahmet Ertagon at the O2 center in 2007, which was later released in 2010 on the "Celebration Day" CD/DVD with the original drummers son, he passed in 1980 and they stopped touring, Jason Bonham on drums.
You forgot John Paul Jones on Bass and Keyboards.
She was talking about writing credits (and he didn't get one for this particular song)
Yes, unfortunately at the time just prior to Physical Graffiti, Jones had threatened to quit the band because of the strain of touring (the 1973 tour was especially taxing on Jones). Page had been working on the embryo of Kashmir as far back as the Houses of the Holy sessions. When it came time to put new tracks together for PG, Page and Bonham were left alone to work on the "groove" and arrangement of Kashmir. Page said that Bonham was instrumental in getting the right feel for the song, and that Bonham was so deeply involved in the arrangement of Kashmir, that Page wanted to give him writing credit. When Jones finally re-committed to the band, he was brought in to add mellotron parts. But Page didn't think Jones' instrumentation was powerful enough for the song, so he hired live orchestral musicians to beef up the sound. So what you hear in the final mix is a combination of Jones' mellotron and live studio musicians for the string parts.
The silent assassin.
Achilles Last Stand live 1979 at Knebworth show , you will also need the lyrics too!
You are falling into a rabbit hole, young lady. Kashmir is arguably Zeppelin's greatest song, but there are 60 other songs well worth your time. Don't shortchange yourself by skipping their live performances especially from the concert film "The Song Remains the Same". Some of my favorites are "Thank you", "How Many More Times", and the live version of "Since I've been Loving You." BTW these are great reactions: honest, clearly spoken, interesting, and (if I may) you are beautiful.
I saw LZ in 1972 Ash
I recommend Immigrant Song..it rocks and the Rain Song
Love your music taste. :)
Ash: My first Led Zeppelin song was Stairway to heaven.
Me: That's usually the case. Robert Plant came to hate Stairway because he had to sing it so often. His favourite was Kashmir, so you're in good company.
Do their song, Since I've been loving you"
I have a cashmere jacket and I hum this every time I wear it. ;-)
Did they "take you there"?
John Paul Jones was also a member of Led Zeppelin
"In The Light" you will genuinely love. Trust me!
Well alright yeah keep them collecting and providing
Well, in the top 3. but all their best 30 songs are mega! And yes: When the levee breaks and The Lemon song. Give them a go!
Great reaction! Pleasee consider the live versions of this and of "Achilles Last Stand" which you will find by searching for "knebworth" plus the song name
I won't suggest a song, yet anyway haha. They've been in my top 5 forever it seems like. I think John Bonham, the drummer, was some sort of magnet, for new things needed that sound great. They had 4 albums in their first 3 years. Led Zep...
Uh oh, you're falling down the Led Zeppelin rabbit hole. Good luck! Lol
May I suggest two songs from the same great album? "In My Time Of Dying" and "Ten Years Gone". Enjoy!
This is a great song and review! I would encourage you to see the video of this from the Led Zeppelin "Unledded" compilation. The whole video shows them, as you said, adding many different cultures to their music. Please find it and enjoy!
If you enjoy long songs, then I highly recommend you react to In My Time of Dying. One other recommendation is to listed to the live version of Kashmir in the 70’s and also their last reunion with the son of John Bohnam filling in for his dad. You’d be surprised how good it is.
Next pink floyd ?
Do yourself a favor, and watch the live version from Knebworth in 1979, even if you don’t do a reaction to it. It’s unreal the sound 3 musicians a vocalist can produce.
By far the best Led Zeppelin reviewer I have seen. The only disappointing thing. She has no reaction to John's amazing drumming fills.
Nobody's Fault But Mine is a great funky tune by LZ which i have no doubt you'd enjoy! Cheers.
Guitarist Jimmy Page had a bit of song that he called (for lack of a proper name) "swan song" and he took part of it and worked it into a repeating riff that would then become Kashmir. The strings were arranged by bassist John Paul Jones. They often took inspiration from North African musical tones but others as well. They liked the essences of hypnotic rhythms to create almost trance-like soundscapes to take the listener on a journey. I think that is part of the reason why their songs often sound "cinematic" regardless if they've been used in a move/tv program or not. They are a band of moods and emotions and they truly don't have a bad song. Regarding recommendations, what do you like? Rock? Do Rock and Roll. Hard Rock? Do Wanton Song. Rock and Roll? Do Candy Store Rock. Proto Punk? Communication Breakdown. Ballad? Thank You. Blues? Since I've Been Loving You. Folk? Gallows Pole. Funk? Trampled Under Foot. Ethereal? Battle of Evermore. Prog Rock? Carouselambra. "World Music"? In The Light. Heavy Blues? When The Levee Breaks. Another "epic" like Stairway or Kashmir? Do Achilles Last Stand. If you don't know what you'd like, look through their catalogue and pick a song at random and see what you get, but please do more Zep.
I've heard Jimmy say that, but then I've also heard Robert say that Bonzo came up with the main beat and played it for his bandmates.
@@Cosmo-Kramer I've heard Page recorded a demo of the song with Bonzo before they all added more to it, so perhaps that's where it comes from. According to Eddie Kramer, Jimmy and Bonzo would often spend hours together practicing timings, patterns and frameworks so it wouldn't be surprising they started working on this together. In later years, when Jimmy would play White Summer/Black Mountainside, he would occasionally slip in a bit of "swan song" before they slammed directly into Kashmir. After they broke up, "swan song" would finally get polished and become Midnight Moonlight when Jimmy played with The Firm.
@@henriettaskolnick4445 I think what I heard Robert say, when he gave sole credit to Bonzo for the song's origins, was Robert being Robert, and throwing a tiny bit of shade at Jimmy whilst simultaneously lifting his late best friend, Bonzo, up. Robert has been known to be a bit of jerk at times, who feuded with JImmy occasionally, so it would not surprise me he deliberately gave Jimmy no credit for the song's original creation.
