  • We've finally made it to the final tour of Amelia, our 4x4 Toyota Sunrader. It took almost 9 months of work to get her to this point but we made it! It's been quite the process and we touch on some of it here but this is really just to show the final product. If you're interested in seeing the process you can check out our detailed write ups on our blog or go back and watch our build series here on RUclips. We're super proud of the final result and we hope you all enjoy it. Thanks for watching!
Unfortunately we lost a LOT of video we shot at the end of the build due to an SD card that needed to be reformatted. Luckily we took a ton of photos through the process so we'll be walking you guys through the rest of the build with photos to accompany our commentary. It's not how we envisioned finishing this series but in the end we get to be a little more detailed this way so it's not all bad.
The entire Sunrader build in blog form:
    www.boundfornow...
You can follow our adventures here:

@@04dram04 Depends on location. There is one on craigslist for 11.5k with 85k miles. It's not 4x4 and it needs a bit of updating to the outside (Fading paint). So I assume they paid around 12.5k for the camper and around 7.5K for the modifications. So around 20k.

I love your design and I'm going to use some of your pointers on my rebuild! These vehicles are for adventure, and the convenience of an indoor bathroom over the countless other options is absolutely unnecessary. @Gabrielle Tillman - Why do people keep carcasses in their fridge, then? Once, when I was house-sitting, a robin flew into the window and died. It was days till the trash would be picked up, so I triple-bagged the body and put her/him in the fridge (the garbage was stored inside so bears wouldn't get it). I put little robin in the trash 3 days later. Some of my pals thought that was weird but it wasn't my yard to dig up....anyway, most people store dead, dismembered birds in their fridges all the time and call them "chicken". Get it?

Plain wall reflex sound bouncing around and car passing feels inside the room. Lot of people sacrifice look for sound deading material. My van I kept the conversion cloth wall and roof and thick carpet. And added more cloth covering on my new wall too.

I have watched this video four or five times and I'm just BLOWN AWAY every time by the amazing work that you did. Do you think it would've been possible to remove the original interior, insulate anew, and then put the old interior back? I'm on the verge of jumping into my own vanbuilding project, but I've been looking a little bit on old RV's and thinking about how much work it is to restore them and if it's worth it. Would be super grateful for a short reply! :)

It is no longer "self contained" when it doesn't have a toilet. In some states, it is no longer a "recreational vehicle". You might as well throw a mattress on the floor of a UHaul truck and call it an RV.

    • @Joy-xz2fx

@@montyjoel it's pretty nuts. In fact my actual best friend in real life bought a brand new Mercedes sprinter van bc her crazy controlling hipster REI I'm outdoorsy type wanna be poser boyfriend convinced her to spend her hard earned money on it. So she bought the thing. Used his shotty ass friends to convert it. They did a half ass job they never finished and charged her an arm and a leg. She stayed with this loser for waaay to long and he was just using her for her fucking van and her money. It made me actually sick. Once when they were here he almost ran her over right in front of me. Hes such a dumbass. Somehow he just got accepted into the fire academy and actually graduated. Like what the actual fuck. He'd never save anyone unless it were for fame and glory. Maybe you know his type. Now she's stuck with this overpriced hunk of metal that has de-valued over the last say 3 or 4 yrs. Shit as soon as it rolled out of the lot it lost value. Hence why you never buy anything brand fucking new. So anyhoo she swears she loves the fucking thing but christ her foods in a cooler and she pays for diesel and the mileage on that thing isn't great plus she has to get it serviced often and that ain't cheap neither are the fancy mickey tires or all the gear that goes along with living this "vanlife". Most of the kids are posers.
