Nice build, and she is absolutely correct about dogs! Pets are forever!
Some people talk WAYYYYY too long about their build. This was NOT one of those. I appreciated her pace. And she was also pleasant to hear talk for the video.

Totally agree with her about a pet being a life time commitment. One of our rescues is now 18 years old, and one is 5. Our third (only one I ever paid for) is my 14 year old service dog. He's now deaf and has a heart problem, but I make sure he has all the care he's given me. When we travel, we also make plans around them. Just the way it is girl....I feel ya!
So much respect for this young lady and her philosophy about having dogs for life. Bravo ! it is rare but so true from the heart !
Absolutely love how she was so thoughtful about her dogs. Included them when building her van. Love the leash feature for them to be able to be outside while she does other things!
That's a great build out! But, the best part is Kristin's attitude toward her dogs; "there's no giving them back." Absolutely! It IS a life time commitment. Safe travels to you.
For a smaller van its probably the most well designed ive seen so far. Nice van.
"when you get a dog, it's a lifetime commitment'.... you have to respect someone that changes their life to accommodate their critters. too many people are selfish enough to not include the animals in their plans.
Living for God is a lifetime commitment. For some reason people choose to ignore that part of life...

Absolutely beautiful van...just an idea for better access to your clothing under the benches...make them drawers so you don’t have to keep moving cushion, safe and happy travels 🙋🏻🇬🇧
I love her heart drawing her friend made and the story that goes with it. How sweet. True friends, better than money!! She will have that forever! Great design and I love the green backsplash. It’s my favorite color. Yay! And the full length mirror is really nice. The oven is great! I could live in it! Tfs! ❤️💜💚

She has some sweet add-ons.... I love the dog shower & outdoor dog leads... the hide away for the stove top... and that oven!! Pocket door... all of it!! Sweet Build!!

this van is perfect! the chunky surfaces and switches, big sink and tap, cupboards and drawers crafted around gadgets, the fridge freezer, the sliding door, the shower, the long slider drawer at the back, lagoon table, hanging plant, white and green walls, the skylight, the fact there was a portapotty and last but not least, taking the pooches comfort & safety into consideration. Fabulous! I wish this traveller all the best x

Im still in the "watching van life stage" and yet to transition to van living but with the all the YT videos I have seen on Van life and remodels, I have to say there is a lot of Excellent features in this van that really appeal to me. The decor and style chosen also makes it feel like a home not a vehicle. LOVE IT!

Hey Kristin, if you move the table mount to the other bench and notch the slide out support to fit around the mount, you can set up the queen bed without having to remove the table.

Thank you for this video, Joni- You're a natural at interviewing and you pick great subjects. Yes, the van was impressive- would have liked to hear whether she had lithium, solar, etc. to learn how she powers the oven.
LOVED that she sees dog ownership as a lifetime commitment. We need more people with that loving attitude~ ❤️🐶
She said her solar is designed around her oven as she loves to bake.
I applaud you for your animal philosophy. I have said that countless times! We chose them! It's our.job to make it work with them. Good for you, girl! So blessed you can work remote too. I live in a stationary rv (it's a park model, not meant to travel long distances) but am applying for a route job as well. Fingers crossed! I clean houses now.

Kristin Holden I actually like the word homely. I’m not British, but I always liked the feel of the word. And besides, I think we have way too many words for ugly or unattractive, so taking one of them and bringing it back into the light works for me. I really like your build. Some of the features are outstanding, like the dog leashes, the sliding door to the front, and the bifold doors on some of your cabinets are just terrific. Wishing you and your pups (mine are lifetime commitments too!) great and safe travels.
I too live in the PNW and love it. There is so much to see right here in our area. I really enjoy riding to new places, seeing new roads that are less travelled and camping a lot while i'm on the road. I like the "Where the Road Forks" as i just ride and see where the next one takes me. I've been/lived from California to Alaska and every state in the western half of our country. Canada is beautiful as well, been to BC and Alb several times, mostly on my motorcycle though. I've been to Europe twice and it was nice though i'd much rather travel and see what's here. You mentioned liking Africa a lot, maybe i'll ride there next haha.

I’ve watched a lot of these van converts. I must say she has all the amenities I would want. Lots of counter space and huge kitchen sink. I would love a bigger fridge, but do able.
you're absolutely right about the dog being a lifetime commitment! That speaks volume of the quality of person that you are! For a very young lady, this more mature gentleman is extremely impressed! :-)

Really nice build an beautiful too. Sliding door a good idea. If me though I’d be putting a rod section for clothing on one side of the bed area. The way the table is pushed back at end of video shows you dont need all the head room if no one else is sitting there. Something more, net bags, hooks, magazine racks, mini office.
I liked the lower cupboard doors, the one for the oven at least was bi fold, so took up less space when open. A minor but very practical detail, nice work!
Funny, the first time I watched this a couple months ago, thought nope, not for me, too constricted feeling, don't bake...etc. But even then then meant to remark on VAN owner's awesome remark re: when you get a dog, it's ur responsibility for life. And she adjusted her desire to be free to back pack in Europe to her moral/ethical commitment made to other living creatures she had chosen to bring into her life. AWESOME and IMO (being old enuf to be her grandmother) she needn't limit stmt to "Just my opinion" bcuz it's an absolutely true stmt for all who choose to take the life of an innocent, helpless creature into their care, whether it be to have or adopt a child, you keep your commitments absent extreme or exigent, unpredictable circumstances. Ok. Off soapbox. This time when I rewatched the vid, thought, yeah this doable for me, my service dog & cat and am assuming vans are going to be easier on gas mileage, easier on environment.
WOULD LOVE in your videos, if u could ask question re: gas mileage so folks like us can make comparison.

The reflective work vest is a great idea. It would be very helpful if you need to pull over on the highway. Get it a little dirty so it adds to the illusion that it's a real work van.

Agree! Those tiny divided sinks or lately the silly round ones, are really useless. This is the bomb! I have one at home, and really wish I had one in my RV. Gotta work on that idea!

this is a ridiculously well designed and well built van! I have seen so many van tours that I almost didn't click on this one ,like eh nothing is going to really surprise me but this really truly did. so many little clever things and the workmanship is very high quality, I know for a fact because I happen to be a cabinet maker, this is a pro job .

Love the built in leashs and 'shower', the sliding door, the pull out table and the swing table inside - awesome.
What a great van. I wonder if the front slat pullout could be slightly modified (small cutout to create 2 smaller sections) to allow it to slide all the way across with the table pole still in place. That would allow 2/3 of the bed to be used instead of 1/3 when it’s not worth the hassle of making up the full bed? Alternatively, move the table pole to the other side and modify the slats as required to permit 2/3 from the other side.

only thing i could add is a block to cover the sink/lock in/hide (dirty) dishes and add to counter space rho it’s certainly not lacking 👏🏻 👍🏻
