I just returned from the debacle on the east coast with the hurricanes and saw you slipped this video in! Love it! The retro/ nostalgic microphone and old school way of doing things is awesome! It started out like a PBS special as well. Love it you two and keep up the great work.
Wonderful video. The new truck looks great and the photography in that part of the country was very beautiful. I made it to Arches/Canyonlands this past year but I’ll have to go check out the St. George area next since it looks so cool.
New subscriber here. I watched your tour on Tiny Home Tours. Very well thought out. Except for not having a bathroom of some sort inside. That I couldn't do. I'll be watching your older videos to get to know you. I like the thought of adventures. There are so many vanlifers and RVers who are finding property and staying put. To each his own. I like seeing the places I've never been and will not be able to visit. Onward.
Hi Mary and Own! We're Charlotte and Ken (& 🐶Flo ) from Belgium, currently our overland journey has already brought us to Laos. It's not always easy traveling with a pet: but it's as you said - you're willing to make the efforts, because in the end, it's a pure bliss of happiness. The scenery looks amazing there. Makes us already dreaming about our Pan American overland journey. Looking forward to discover more of your videos. Enjoy the ride! ☺
MAK and Owen: So glad to be watching you again. (Welcome Boo!) There is nothing like your photos and videography reflecting your unique “take” on all the beautiful places you visit. We have been following you since your Alaska trip. We just got back from 7 weeks in a camper in Alaska- thanks for inspiring us!
Welcome back! I have missed your videos. I love the format of you being filmed while you narrate the video. The scenery in this video is beyond epic especially the sunset at the end. Your new cat is awesome- it’s so nice she loves the outdoors just like you guys. Bonus she gets along with your niece dogs. Looking forward to new adventures!
Hi there. I saw you featured on another channel (Tiny Home Tours) and you looked familiar. We met this summer at Chilco Lake in BC, Canada. Got to say, I love your camper and your way of life. Subscribed to see more and keep in touch. Happy travels!
I've been waiting for you guys! Awesome video!! Congrats again on the truck, -it's a tough looking rig! And all your new pics & vids with your new gear! -As a photographer I can say, VERY nice shots! Many AMAZING scenes you chose to beautifully capture! Photography is a craft you can enjoy, and continue to learn & hone throughout your lifetime! I really enjoyed this, along with your wonderful, informative narration. (Nice voice for that, btw). Glad the past year has been the best & peace & happiness are in your hearts. That's not so commonplace with young people, people in general, these days. So I'm happy for ya'll! Continue to be grateful & thankful and life will continue to amaze you. And, you two are amazing & inspiring to watch. Stay safe & be blessed!
Thank you so much for those kind words, we really appreciate it. It's hard not to be thankful and always surprised by the world with how we live. Not a day goes by that I am not thankful for it!
Hello Boo! So happy for you both to have been adopted by a new cat. Great to hear and see Boo trained you both well, she looks like the Princess she was meant to be. Looking forward to what Boo wants to see and do next!
Man, y'all's photography, editing, music, sound, narratives, and general coolness are just off the charts amazing. Shout out from a fellow ATLien traveler not nearly on your level yet but with big dreams! Cheers, Jon
Hi, I just watched your tour of your rig on Tiny channel, very cool. You talk about being able to stay out for 2 weeks with your great size refrigerator, wondered what sort of items you keep in stock and what meals you cook? We are full time, have been on road for 2 years and are transitioning from a 40ft 5th wheel (bougie) to a truck camper so I will need to rethink meals. Love your channel, safe travels.
That is a fantastic question. We make a lot of meals from things that are dry or shelf stable when we do those long haul trips into remote areas. Rice bowls are always great because you can top it with whatever you have on hand. Sometimes they are asian and have tofu, kimchi, eggs etc. But sometimes we make rice bowls that are Mexican inspired or even Indian inspired. Take it in any direction! We also make a lot of couscous meals and mix in veggies or, again, whatever we have on hand. We find keeping a bunch of dry staples around helps us be flexible and make something yummy no matter what we have on us!
@BoundForNowhere thank you for your reply. Bowls sound a great idea and very tasty. Safe travels, look forward to seeing all your adventures in this super fun rig
I really liked this video. I appreciate the down to earth nature of it. I like that you just talk into a handheld microphone because it sounds great. Who are we fooling anyway, you are a person in a remote location. There is no boom operator there. and a lot of the lavaliere mics sound worse. I have made videos for more than 20 years, this is good. I started in photography with 35mm, 6x6 cm, 4x5 in, 8x10 in, transparencies, I applaud your efforts!
Beautiful video. Also made the switch from the Sony A7S III to XH2s, and I've got a FWC, so I'm rooting for you. More importantly, great vibe/story as always.
I got the same type of cat in my van in Sweden. We have been all around Europe. It is difficult to walk the cat in a leach, she always wants to go her own way. 😺
Just wanted to say thank you for our cool interaction recently! Ran into you at a local spot in town because a friend of mine was wearing a cool T-shirt from a few friends of yours! best of luck on your adventures!
Film cameras .... three years ago, I put up my Pentax 645 and got a 645-D because to buy film and develop it was a pain. I also have a Hasselblad 503 and some Nikon 3s, I guess they will sit on the shelf, I still love medium format, that's why I went will the Pentax 645-D for more manual control, plus I can still use all the lens and I have a passion for Black and white, Love your style of shots and your love of cats, mine is almost 15 and she is still a hand full.
I love hearing folks wax poetic over film photography. Growing up in the 70’s-80’s that is all we knew. I was lucky to have a father with a pharmacy who had an inexpensive link to developing film so it was a passion they I could indulge in. Bracketing exposures, setting up the shot. So much more thought went into achieving a decent photo that you might have to wait weeks to confirm you got it right. I look back through those photos more than I do any of the electronic formats I have taken since.
HA! Thanks! It was fun to plan and bring to life, we can't usually invest so much time into planning shoots like this, but keeping it to just the intro was a really fun and approachable way to try something new and challenging!
HAHA the funny thing is, that isn't our intent, I think his work was just so informative to us growing up that its just kind of a part of us at this rate!
Such a good vid 👏! I’m with ya there on used to being anti-paid camping, but I’ve come around and fully embraced hipcamps - especially on the coast where public lands are scarce!
Could you guys go to West Virginia? I feel like that state gets overlooked so much all my family is from West Virginia. It is truly wild and wonderful and seems to get overlooked by everyone. Would love to see some videos that you always do such a great job.

I have said it before, but I really appreciate and respect that you guys don't give exact locations or your travels.

Glad to see some new stuff coming out. I love the new Cali Cat. She matches the stripes on the new truck. lol Stay safe and we'll keep watching. ✌✌
Wonderful video. The new truck looks great and the photography in that part of the country was very beautiful. I made it to Arches/Canyonlands this past year but I’ll have to go check out the St. George area next since it looks so cool.
What an adorable intro. Instantly got Fuji vibes from that film sim. Nice work, so glad you're back.

Those shortcuts that take 4 extra hours are always the best!
we love the new cat. Waiting for you next series you are the reason we started traveling with our popup.
Love the Barrier canyon style rock art. I look forward to you sharing your beautiful camera work and locations.
Great to see another video from you guys, also great to see your new rig out in the wild
Thanks so much! It was such a fun trip!
Thanks for watching! It felt so good to get out there after spending much of the year building that truck (last year)!
Hello Boo! So happy for you both to have been adopted by a new cat. Great to hear and see Boo trained you both well, she looks like the Princess she was meant to be. Looking forward to what Boo wants to see and do next!
HA! Starting with a kitten has been really interesting! She has progressed so much since this time! She has also grown a lot too!
Man, y'all's photography, editing, music, sound, narratives, and general coolness are just off the charts amazing. Shout out from a fellow ATLien traveler not nearly on your level yet but with big dreams! Cheers, Jon

Welcome to Fujifilm! Only camera brand I have ever used and absolutely love the gear. Beautiful film as always :)
You're still my fav filmmaker on YT, just such a beautiful delight to watch your stuff. 😊
Welcome back. You are missed. Canyonlands is my favorite NP. Love this story.
Thank you we are very happy to be back!
Yay MAK! Happy it was the best year of your life!
Me too! Its been really nice!
Me too! It's been a good one!

Much appreciated! Feels good to be back!
Nice Views 👍 Safe Travels.
You intentionally got a cat whose colors match your truck colors. Such a "photographer thing" to do.🤣
LOL we actually didn't but when we noticed the similarity we laughed because it is such a photographer thing to do HA!
Beautiful video. Also made the switch from the Sony A7S III to XH2s, and I've got a FWC, so I'm rooting for you. More importantly, great vibe/story as always.
Wow great minds think a like! ;)
Sooooo well worth the wait☺️! Glad y’all are back 😉 red/orange/blue hues - color palette, is always a favorite
Ours too ;)
Nice to see you guys!
YAY!!! Love the format. You are so quirky-cool! Excited for what's next.

I got the same type of cat in my van in Sweden. We have been all around Europe. It is difficult to walk the cat in a leach, she always wants to go her own way. 😺

Yeah we decided to rip that bandaid off all at once!
Gr8 vid & lovely little cat 🥰
We're entering our 'adventure' phase and I think this is inspiring us to get an adventure cat.
We obviously think this is a great idea!
Yes you’re back!
Happy to be here!
Lppks alot like the Maze. I love the Maze.

Well, the great thing about film is that you can always jump back in if you feel moved to! Thanks for the kind words!
ive missed you guys
Great video, awesome video and scenery. Beautiful kitten.
Thanks so much!
Lovely video! Beautiful storytelling.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!
Literally living the dream 😊
Good to see y’all warming up for a new adventure. “Head ‘Em up and move Em out”
Rolling rolling rolling…! 🎶
A lot more to come very soon!

I still have my Leica and my old Cannon.
lmao 21:24 the poop deck! as long as this video is with a lot of incredible shots and good lines... this is my favorite part
HA glad you liked that!
The opening sequence to the first cut is fkn badass! Dope.
HA! Thanks! It was fun to plan and bring to life, we can't usually invest so much time into planning shoots like this, but keeping it to just the intro was a really fun and approachable way to try something new and challenging!
Definitely missed these
Thanks! We have a lot more coming soon!
Glad to be back!
Awesome. Thank you!
Hey! Good to see you again! Jim shoots with Fujifilm too! He says best colors, but frustrating auto focus. -Jim & Michelle
The colors are unparalleled!
Boo is a cutie and glad to see some Fuji love.
This is the first thing we filmed entirely on Fuji! So everything going forward is all @fujifilm all the time!
Quite the scenery and a durable cat, be safe.
Thanks so much!
What motivated the change from sony to fuji film for the camera?
PEAK Wes Anderson’ing achieved. Congratulations 🎉.
HAHA the funny thing is, that isn't our intent, I think his work was just so informative to us growing up that its just kind of a part of us at this rate!
HAHA so funny because it wasn't even our intention ;)
Love the video!!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you!!
15:53 I, as the naked man, would have yelled "paint me like one of your french girls" as I disappeared into my camper. HAHA
Based on where we were, that would have left me SHOOK! HA but laughing!
I would have been so SHOOK! But I would have also laughed!
Love your new meow.........🐈Still missing Luna 🙁
We miss her too
Awesome!
Thanks for watching!
Ok intro!
Pretty fun right?!
Killer intro.
Thank you so much!
Yay! 🎉
Does anybody know what kind of rig this is specifically thank you
A beautiful video. Your cat and truck color schemes seem to match, was that intentional? Thanks for sharing your adventure.
That wasn't intentional, but we can't unsee it either and its hilarious to us!
i totaled my 2024 TRD tundra tbone at 60 mph 3 people walked away. with only small scratches. toyota safe!!!
Oh I am so glad to hear you all are alright! That is so terrible!
Put an Apple air tag on Boo. Adventuresome young cats have a tendency to get stuck in trees and things, and if they are afraid (maybe she smells coyote) they won't meow. The airtag will take you right to her. And if she's hiding in the camper, you'll be able to quickly know. And if she somehow gets left behind at a gas station? You're going to know that too.
I like the insulated pop up. I think they're the smartest RV. Otherwise you have this big thing burning excess gas enclosing space you can't use while you're driving.
Good eye.
As an old professional photographer with years of experience with film. Digital is actually more 'life like,' and of course has a much wider range of colors, exposure densities, etc... but all the films you'll hear about have a quality that is: not limited, distinct (but maybe not exclusive). What I'd recommend is to learn from the film and modify your digital images so you can create different qualities. The way I would do it is to flat out try to 'match' a film/print, but go way into it. Spend hours. In the end, you may get close to the film, but you'll also come up with a range of methods and ideas that will expand your skill set. (I could show you a dozen images and tell you who and what image I was trying to 'copy,' and in only one image will you say, "oh yeah,' but only because it contains a dancer and a window, and another shot from that day is much better.)
Take Kodachrome. Working with a fashion photographer who always shot Kodachrome but had to shoot Ektachrome for the job, we quickly figured out to use a 5CC red filter with the Ektachrome. Close, but Kodachrome. We might've underexposed and pushed the Ektachrome... it would've been closer but worse (especially for skin tones.)
In the red sandstone? Like Monument Valley carry a white card, or piece of fabric. Look at it occasionally. It'll start to look greenish. This means that the red sandstone is not the brown you see, but the red you see in photos.
Rangefinders are the fastest focusing handheld cameras before the better DSLRs. Old SLRs... shot them for years. Are not as good. Slow to focus, the mirror slapping up and down... This is why Henri Cartier Bresson could talk about the Decisive Moment. Easy and fast to focus, no shutter lag with a leaf shutter. I think the Nikon X and the D2X finally matched the leaf shutters. I found this out shooting an event of high school students. I was catching all their expressions. Somehow I'd become incredible. Expressions can be a tenth of a second. You can't catch this with an SLR.
Can you stand on the top of your camper? Ansel Adams always had a platform on the top of his car. Someone pointed out to me that all of his photos were shot within 150 feet of that car.... Not entirely true, but good to know. (I've hiked and climbed to get just that angle... and yeah, no. A complete waste of time. There was something else in the way.)
In 18 years and about two months you can see that same eclipse a couple hundred miles north of where you saw it. It's true for all eclipses.
Here's another odd tip. If you go up in altitude (for me it was 7000 feet) and there's snow, rain, humidity? Put your lap top and cameras in some kind of a case or pouch before you drive down. I was at King's Canyon in the winter, -10F, very cold and dry, but I got some snow on the floor of my vehicle. When I drove down, the snow was already starting to melt from my car heater, the pressure in my MacBook equalized by sucking in the most air. This moisture then condensed on the screen, and probably inside the case. Mold grew leaving spots. Apple replaced the screen and I was lucky enough that the Genius Bar guy who helped me was a mountain climber, he knew about this happening. And seal up your cameras against dust when you're not using them. Dust is insidious.
The rice trick? It can help if you put your lap top in a bag that has some uncooked rice. The rice will absorb the humidity. This way as your device equalizes it will be sucking in dry air. But it's no cure after the fact.
Do you develop your own photographs?
Excellent content as always. Would like to support your travels. Ever consider doing a run of hats? Hot sellers I am sure!
Nice to meet Boo! Stunning photography! The landscapes are beautiful! Great to see you again!
☕️
worst video you have produced. I used to look forward to every one
Really enjoy your videos but having cats and dogs in wilderness areas that are not their natural habitats just seems wrong.
What are you talking about? How is bringing animals into the wilderness wrong, where you think they came from 🤓
Such an unusual statement. Animals lived outdoors before they didn't.
Get bent isn't strong enough, we should really have a ridiculous button for these keyboard silly bois
This has a real AI/Bot feel to it.
Y'all are cracking me up!
