  • Did you just buy a 370z, 350z, g35 or g37 just to find out you have to pull your transmission and replace your Concentric Slave Cylinder (CSC) or Clutch Slave Cylinder? It is a very common issue but luckily it's not as hard as you think! Here is the quickest run down on how to pull your transmission and replace the CSC with a ConceptZperformance or Zspeed slave cylinder!

    First, kudos for trying this on jacks. Easiest to drain the trans fluid first. I don't think you need to remove the shifter, just disconnect the linkage.

    Thanks for the great video, loved how it straight and to the point you were. Is there a reason you didn't go with the Tilton HD master instead of the OEM?

    • @VEDEMRACING99
      @VEDEMRACING99  4 года назад +1

      Main reason was mostly due to the fact that from my research no one had any issues with the OEM master and as long as it was replaced at the same time as the CSC everything should be fine.

    • @Father_Blandingus
      @Father_Blandingus 4 года назад

      @@VEDEMRACING99 Ah, okay. Was just wondering if there was info out there about folks having issues with the Tilton. I just went with it because it's beefier and no plastic components on it so seemed like a safer bet. Briefly considered the CMAK but the forums seem littered with issues on them. HD CSC definitely appears to be the way to go.

    Real quick that gear oil you spilt is the transmission fluid right? Which is the bolt on the side of the transmission to refill correct?

    • @VEDEMRACING99
      @VEDEMRACING99  4 года назад +1

      That is not correct. That fluid was actually your clutch fluid line that goes to your CSC. The bolt on the side of the transmission was the bleeder to get all of the air out of the line for the CSC. During this entire process I did not have to drain or refill the transmission fluid

  • @JD-jj5ue

    Man I have a damn horror story of CSC issues. Pedal to floor, figured I'd get flywheel and clutch, flywheel is probably a bit to light cause the chatter is annoying. That shop jacked something up with bleeding it that I had to mess with it to get the pedal up to get out of there.... like 1 year or two later shits on the floor again so I took it to another spot and it's always been wishy washy. Pedal went to floor this year and fill up the reservoir every two days or so until I can make a decision on what to do. I don't want to ever again fix a CSC on it or I'm junking it is why I'm leaning heavy to just doing the elimination. Everyones thoughts were helpful and your vid made me feel much more comfortable about saving the $2500 of labor each time I had to spend....

      After doing alot of research there have been alot of people that ran the upgraded CSC and have never had any issues with it even after 100k miles and Concept Z Performance will warranty these CSC's given they were installed correctly. I also didn't want to worry about the added steps of doing a delete kit as you have to pull the bellhousing off of the transmission and replace the front transmission cover. All in all it didn't seem worth the extra work so long as the new CSC does continue to work till at least 100k miles.

    • @VEDEMRACING99
      @VEDEMRACING99  8 месяцев назад

      The main reason for changing out the Master Cylinder at the same time is to prevent previously contaminated fluid from the old master cylinder mixing in with the new slave cylinder, and potentially causing the new seal on the slave cylinder to prematurely fail. - The dealership is required to change the Master cylinder anytime a CSC is replaced.
      I did this because our clutch fluid was badly contaminated with dust and grime from the old seal being bad for longer than we realized.
      If you do not change the master cylinder at the same time as the slave cylinder then there's honestly not too much of a point in going back two weeks later to swap the master cylinder out. The cross contamination will have already happened.
      If your fluid was pretty clean at the time of your swap you could take a chance and not swap it out. I simply did it for peace of mind and since my fluid was pretty bad.
      Hope this helps man!
