***Update, after about 15K miles on the VR30 Trans, the OEM flexplate broke, so I would suggest to upgrade this part as well while you're in there. I went with the JOL brand one, but Z1 Motorsports and Fast Intentions also makes one. Do your own research before choosing one, good luck***
Great work! I have my donor trans en route and am looking to do this on my Z. Did you happen to know the height and approx. weight of the transmission that came out? Just trying to minimize my jack stand height and am curious if there are any lifts that allow to avoid sliding off onto the ground. Thanks again!
Hello there, the weight is approximately 300 lbs, the trans bell housing is 15" tall. Unless you get huge truck jack stands there's no way you'll get the trans out without dropping off the trans jack.
Hello, the VR30 trans has beefier internals and a bigger torque converter, which means it can handle more power (torque) and in the long run can be more reliable too. Yes it can be a little bit more expensive than going with the OEM trans off the G if you factor in all of the other supporting mods you'll need, but in the long run you'll be saving $ since it will last you longer. For more info on this, check out my breakdown video on what it cost to do this swap: ruclips.net/video/jN29gH3J4fo/видео.html
It's G-plus, look in the description of the vid below for more details: ruclips.net/video/l88kdGVte4U/видео.html And this vid below is the thermostatic sandwich plate from Greddy I'm running on the G and the Z: ruclips.net/video/4LGmITVtJAc/видео.html
Hard to say man, first of all I doubt the electrical connections are the same. For a second let's just pretend they are, you still need hope the bell housing will fit the back of the vq35hr, let's say that it does, if you transfer your TCM over you'll only still have 5 gears. If I'm remembering correctly, the G35 AT is only a 5 speed right?

dang, was hoping to make this a cheap swap
@Wigwhom86 it's only a little bit more expensive than swapping in a regular G trans.

Thanks brother, much appreciated 😃🙌👍
The videos are looking awesome Uncle G!! keep it up
Thanks again Bash, more content coming soon 😃👍
@@MemosGarageAZi know its been a couple of years but would the process for your g be the same for a 370z?
@luismatute4369 Hello, I know it's been done, but not 100% sure what the driveshaft situation is on the 370z when doing this swap.
BEST 🔥🔥🔥🤙🙏🙌👌 AMAZING VIDEO BROTHER🙌
Thanks for being the VR30 trans embassador on RUclips Alvin 😁😃😂. Without your vid I don't think I would have had the courage to try this 🙌🙏👍
@@MemosGarageAZ you got this🤙🤙🤙
Why a VR30 transmission?
Nice! We’re the torque converters hard to take off? And did you use a ratchet or a wrench ?
Not too hard to remove, check out part #2, I go over how I removed it and what tools to use. Thanks for watching.
@@MemosGarageAZ np and I will watch it after work thanks!

Good luck bro, keep us updated.
Whats the difference from stock? Is it cheaper going with the other transmission?

Can you swap it into a rwd coupe? Because I would see people with sedans do it?
Hello, yes you can swap this into a RWD coupe.
What brand are the oil and trans cooler?

Interested in doing the swap. Would you know if it'll be ok if I trim down my carbon fiber driveshaft?
No I wouldn't do it, you're better off selling it and than buying one cut to the correct size.
@@MemosGarageAZ Ahh gotcha
will it work on a vq35hr???

Just watching this thinking how Im complaining about installing test pipes today on my G and this man is changing a tranny by himself...
😂🤣😅 hahaha thanks for the laugh, thanks that point of view and thanks for watching.
