I moved about 30 plants in July, and I was tired. Definitely re-homing some of my larger plants to friends was a life saver. I only lost about 3, bc between the move and Covid-19, I wasn't in the same "plant love" mind space...and I was ok with that. Its October, and I just purchased my first plant since the move (and Covid-19). I definitely learned, that real life is priority and our hobbies are here to bring joy and relieve stress, not create it. Thanks for sharing. Peace.
I totally understand the covid mindset + plants. It hit me hard, real life is definitely priority. I love that so much, it’s important for me to remember!!
Love the graphics used in the video! Could you please include temperatures in Celsius...? because the rest of the world has no idea what those numbers in Fahrenheit mean!
I'm moving with a lot of plants from Florida to Missouri so these videos have been super helpful and very relevant to me. Thanks for sharing! Especially about the casualties and normalizing that bc we're only human :)
Thank you so so so much for this video. I’m planning on moving from NJ to FL in the next few months and all I can think about is how am I going to get my plants there in 1 piece and still look beautiful. I feel better after watching this video knowing we all want our green babies to be beautiful and pristine, but it’s ok to have banged up plants too… it’s part of life. Plants always seem to imitate real life events. 😂❤
Again, super thankful for these videos! My partner and I are moving from CA to MO next month and I need to figure out how to get my plant children over there 🙃🥲 Thank you again for these vids!
Thank you for the tips and idea. I'm getting ready to move and I have about 50 plants that I want take with me and don't want to get rid off. I'm not driving as far but will be doing about a 16 hours drive so pray for my babies and I. Thanks again.
I moved last October within Finland, and came to conclusion that plants are a lot hardier than I thought. The temperatures were already quite low, but they had to only endure a 2-hour drive and they all survived. I personally used only cardboard boxes and they worked out great! I totally agree that you should every single plant in some sort of a box. The only plant that I did not put in a box was a weirdly shaped aloe plant and that was the only plant that got a couple leaves crushed. I had a bit less plants than Becca (around 60 at that time) so I guess that made the whole process a bit less stressful ^^
Thank you so much!!! I found you on TikTok & your vids have been extremely helpful 🫶🙏 I’m heading from CA->WI in two weeks!! Wasn’t planning to bring any of my succulents or cacti, but I might give it a shot now!! Tysm again ❤
I'm so glad you've filmed all of this! I'm moving from Missouri to California in about a year and I have close to 100 plants. I am STRESSING, but this did make me feel a bit better😂
I drove from Alaska to North Dakota in my honda and boy oh boy, just EVERYTHING needed to be cleaned, and i was totally fatigued afterwards. I just left my car completely packed and did NOTHING for days! So excited for your new plant room and cant wait to see what you do with it.
Thanks for the great video!! I don’t have the biggest plant collection yet but I will be moving cross country in a couple years so I’m trying to limit myself a little so I can take them all in my car 😂 very helpful tips though, hoping you and your family are happy in your new home and are staying safe! 💚
I just want to say I love your channel not only because I love plants but also because you have such a sweet personality and I love your voice so soothing and your laugh is adorable ☺️☺️
Thank you for this video! Thankfully I’m only moving about 2hrs north, but I have a LOT of plants. I think after watching this I’ll just make a plants-only trip in my car instead of trying to pack them in a UHAUL. Will definitely go to a garden center asking about spare carrying crates!
Woo!! Also something I’ve realized since this video - maybe ask if they have any of the paper wrap they come in when they come from the grower! Great way to protect the leaves & I’ll be doing that when I move next ☺️
Thanks for sharing your move. As soon as our property sells, we will be moving to Missouri, too. Somewhere around Warsaw or Cole Camp. Next week I'm headed out there for my nephew's wedding and to look at properties. Would love to find a house with a sunroom. Can't wait to see your new space!
i’ve moved my collection between MA, VT, and CT a handful of times and it is a HASSLE!! EVERYTHING NEEDS A BOX! I REPEAT EVERYTHINGGGG! 😂 so so happy for you and cannot wait to get my hands on some soil!
Glad you guys made it safe... AND I can’t wait to see how you place your plants, decor, your lighting... etc that is exciting!!!! I will be here waiting for that video EXCITING!!!
This was such a sweet video Becca. So calming and entertaining I’m glad the big majority of your babies made it okay. I can already tell your sunroom is gonna be a bomb spot for a lot of your plants!
When I moved my plants I thought it was a good idea to hang the hanging plants during the move. Luckily none fell but they did get a little bruised from bumping against the side of the vehicle. So even tho it is tempting I would say try to bundle up your hanging plants and box them up rather than hang them!
Thank you for sharing, you are so positive i like that. Now i have no where near as many plants that you have but im working on it.. I AM planning on moving but in my same city (thank god) and it will actually be in the coldest month we have (January). Uggg... Im so glad you suggested those hand warmers. The snow is gorgeous but we get super cold and it dips down to 0°F at night and 10-20°F in the day. I live in a very dry climate and I'm always thinking i wouldn't be able to breath in a high humidity lol
I just moved a month ago, I wish I saw this before 😆 I also didn't realize how many plants I have. I had to throw away a table to fit all my plants in the truck 🙊
You could hang some plants on the clothing rod in those boxes too, and it would help pack everything in even more! Obviously there would have to be a way to secure them though. Hmmmm
Ah, so needed. We are planning a move from CA to TN in the newest few months. This is super helpful. Instead of a UHAUL we may be just packing everything into our RV that we also have to take. 😬 Thank you for taking the time to share your process and experience. ♡
I love this video. I watched your moving videos and I was very curious about how all your plants are doing now and how your experience was. I'm glad that things are going good 🌿
I moved into a college dorm with 80-90 plant's few months ago, only to move back home again for winter break in a few weeks. Im gonna have to move them from home to college at least 7 more times in the next 4 years and I am NOT looking forward to it. Hopefully my parents will help me because my plants fill up my entire small car and I can't fit any of my other belongings!
Gonna be moving back to California from Rhode Island once I finish grad school, and its so hard holding off on purchasing wishlist plants until then! Thanks for the tips Becca 🤍🌿
Excellent video on moving with plants. Just out of curiosity, how expensive is it to rent a uhaul trailer going that distance? Thinking that would be my best bet when we do move, with all my plants!
hi becca! I loved watching your moving video and this video is so helpful too- I have a question- I am also making a pretty big move at the beginning of May, and I normally repot my plants in the spring- would you recommend repotting them before moving or after? I'd love to see what your opinion might be! Congrats on the big move :)
Hey!! So I repotted things before I moved and it didn’t really affect anything negatively. So I think either way it doesn’t really matter, it’s a big change no matter what!
Who was your moving company? We are in AZ too and moving back east. We had a terrible experience with movers last time and would love a recommendation!!
You are going to love the humidity for most of your plants! But I am thinking you probably watered your cactus more in the arid climate. You will have to be especially careful not to over water your succulents and cacti. It can be a real challenge here. : }
I believe It was around $250!? I answered this question in another comment closer to when this video was posted and had a more exact number!! Maybe see if you can find the comment! Haha
I think so many people are moving now because they realised they can work from home so they’re moving from expensive cities to more affordable places ❤️
Congrats on your new home. I am looking forward to your house tour. Take care and stay safe
Thanks so much!

Oh sure thing!! Darn, I usually do but was a little lazy this video. I’ll make sure to include it next time ❤️
The editing is so precious and “you” in this video. I loved seeing the moving vlog.

Wow wow! Welcome to Missouri [soon] ☺️
@@BeccaDeLaPlants Aww thank you!!

About a year ago I moved from Chicago to Philadelphia with 68 plants 😩 These videos brought back a lot of memories!
Hopefully good memories 😂
i’d be scared to move that many plants
It was quite the undertaking I’ll admit 😆

You can totally do it!!!
We just moved last week (only across town) and I just now had the energy to give them my attention!
Moving to Dallas from NY, I have to ship my plants. I have a 8 ft fiddle, I cannot leave him. I will remove the pots and thanks for this.

Glad you made it to MO! I will definitely be watching you this summer to see how your dessert plants are doing in MO.
I’ve really been enjoying your editing lately!
Thank you so much!! That means a lot to me ❤️
I moved my plants in a rented van! It was much less expensive than a uhaul and I was able to regulate the temperature inside the van :)
Your move was such a fun vlog!! I loved it!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️
Thank you so much!! ☺️
Ahh so excited to see what comes next !!
Thank you ❤️❤️
Thank you for the tips! I’m moving 200+ plants from CO to NC in December and the anxiety is real!! 😬😬

Thanks Becca for sharing. Hope you have settled in and are enjoying your new home 🏡. Lots of love ❤❤❤
Glad see your program.
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing this.
Oh the ups and downs of our Missouri moisture 😫
i was moving recently, and used the same type of crates to transfer my (about) 150 plants, they work really good, for smaller plants...
I'll be waiting for the next plants update in the new home really soon. 😄

Any tips moving a big aloe vera?
It’s a shame about some cacti not making it. I would have assumed your more sensitive plants would have more difficulty. Thanks for your advice
Yeah :( I’ll have to visit home and load up on cacti! Haha
