Filming straight after the accident is a good thing because it show how traumatic the event was to you and also documents a clear picture of the scene directly after the accident.

Yep , and also while most people are decent, now and again you run into despicable types that will cause an accident and then blame the other party , or even just take off , years ago we were had a car run into the back of our Ute while we where stopped at the lights , which shocked the driveline and jammed our car in between gears , , the dude that ran into us backed up and took off , unfortunately there are people out there that are scumbags , so yes , dash cam and or document everything with your phone if possible .

Never forget the time where "Just Vanning It" had those trolls too where they made disrespectable comments about Sue and they thought of stopping videos but glad they didn't as we don't what those Trolls to ruin it for everyone else who love these videos that you all make. Looking forward to the start of your adventure in the new van again. Thankyou for your video's and being who you both are as great to see the fair dinkum Aussies in the real and not fakes

Your channel came up when you posted the accident video. I’m not travelling yet, but I’m planning on it in the further. Ignore the trolls. Just from watching a few videos of your, you are both so down to earth and share such useful information. There are so many videos showing the just the fun side of camping and travelling around Australia - which is great. But this side is so important too. I’m sure through sharing about your incident, you’re helping so many people with thinking about putting plans in place if things go wrong. Thank goodness you’re ok. I’m sure nobody needs to tell you, it could have ended so much worse.
Take care. Looking forward to following along with your next adventures.

Citylink and Eastlink in Victoria charge dual cabs as a truck when using toll roads

    • @campertrailering
      @campertrailering 24 дня назад

I Went on a return Journey through Melbourne Via the Calder Freeway , Tullamarine Freeway and the Monash Freeway to Dandenong 27/6/24 Dual Cab Ute only, not towing caravan and the Toll Cost was $36.98. I left Maldon in Central Vic @ 5.45am and got to Melbourne around 7.15am and Dandenong 8.25am A good run with light traffic and no fools. If taking a caravan through Melbourne aim to reach city centre around 6.30 - 7.30am traffic will be starting to build but not insane

Im so clad your all ok even the other people in the car. We looked at RACQ ultra care and went throught all the cover they has as you know. We chose Club 4x4 becasue of the total recovery of both the car & caravan as a package IE towing the van/4x4 to a repairer, accomadation lenght period flights, trailer hire also was covered.. Club 4x4 were lowever cost and more cover after an crash or recovery, and we have looked into this exact situation you have been in and the cover we have as I said is more than RACQ Ultra care.(note we have been with RACQ Ultra care before)

Glad you are over the worst. I know the trauma of the accident, having had a trailer blow a tyre whilst towing a Jaguar behind a Saab9000 twenty years ago. The trailer weight dropped onto the towbar, which lifted the car front wheels, travelling downhill. No control and rolled down the road, went through the Armco, and hit a bridge support. Everything written off, walked away from it. Not nice at all, the insurance pay out was two and a half times what I paid for the car, quite a surprise. The trailer manufacturer had built a number of faulty trailers resulting in multiple accidents for users of them. Hope you have a better future towing.

I suggest fitting an engine guard to your tow vehicle. Six years ago near Casino NSW, we had a fan belt break, which took out a radiator hose on the Prado and by the time I realised we had a problem the engine was cactus. NRMA platinum cover was brilliant, we were looked after like we were one of the family.
See you on the road somewhere.

I am so heartbroken you had to go through this. As caravaners we feel your pain. We are in WA and we are with RAC for our car and caravan and we also only travel at 90klms which is also good for economical fuel wise. I have prayed thanks that you are both well and uninjured. Driving tired and worse still uninsured is irresponsible but he now has to live with this. Hopefully a lesson has been learned by him. I wish you safe travels ❤❤❤❤❤❤ we travelled for 6 months and we also called up trucks and slowed or pulled over so they could pass. We found them very considerate. As for the trolls not worth wasting time or energy on them.

we have only discovered your channel since you've had your accident. and we can 100% empathise with everything you've said in this video and the last few. We wrote our trailer off on the nulliabour. The shock at the time was increadible and in the days and months that came. We left the trailer in the hands of the tow truck after we got as much as possible out of it on the side of the road. and all we wanted to do was turn around and come home. I have so much i want to say about how we feel for you. I have no real words. videos like yours are invaluable for people to be aware of all the things that people should know incase the worst moments happen. best of luck in your future.

Great vid guys thanks for the honesty and keep them coming. One concern I have is with the insurance, I really hope I’m wrong but the difference between agreed and market value, Agreed is the price you and your insurance company settle on for your vehicle and market value is the price your vehicle brings on the second hand market not new remember insurance companies are not there to make your life better just to take your money and baffle you with loop holes. I encourage everyone to read there policy and then read it again and then read it again and again and if your still not happy contact them sort it out and get it all in writing otherwise you will be left out in the cold and they move on to the next person without giving you a second thought. Sorry for the downer but ask me how I know. Cheers and happy travels

Thanks for your comments and kind words, we recieved the whole amount back for the van as it was brand new, yes there is a difference best check all policies and companies are different.

It’s sad that you are receiving negative comments. They obviously have their own issues that they are going through and taking it out on you guys. Keep doing what you are doing and just skip over those nasty comments. (Can you block them?) cheers Steve

Hi guys, we came across you by accident. You had the accident, it came through our feed, we subscribed. Heads up though, it’s probably not a sustainable RUclips business model. Lol. Anyway, we are building our own 18’ van so it’s interesting to here about the insurance. You cannot insure an unfinished van in Queensland, it must be registered and have an independent valuation on completion. Prior to this though we needed an engineer certificate because we have built everything from the chassis to the composite body. Like you we are risk averse and have insurance ON EVERYTHING so it’s unnerving to have $90k (+ labour) tied up in your driveway that’s uninsured. Anyway, we love your videos and glad to see you are both well. Look forward to seeing how the new van goes for you. Thanks.

Hi, First up thankyou Mr B for your service to our country. I dont tow a van but found your channel and loved what you both do and now subscribe to it. Glad you both came out of the accident unscathed, you cannot be replaced cars and vans can. This video has had some amazing information for people to ponder and access on the does and donts of towing and thankyou for that. I wish you both safe and happy travels for the future and will be following your adventures.

Love your content. I'm glad you're on the road again. That has been quite a journey you've been on over the past few weeks. I'm also pleased with your insurance and RACQ info. We wouldn't be without support from RACQ. I'm looking forward to the walk around of your new rig and mods on the ute. Stay safe and thanks for being there for us mere mortals and as you say, stay safe. Cheers.

We are subscribers and regular watchers, albeit normally via the van TV, so don't get to see the comments made by others. What absolute jerks some people are!!
We thought you so brave the day of the accident and were in awe of you. The stress you were under! My goodness ! Thank you for sharing the things you have. Your honesty and openness, amazing. As a couple, (on the road for about 18mths), we've now had some really deep and meaningfuls about what if that had been us... Thank you . Enjoy your new van. May you have some wonderful times in it.

Thank you for the breakdown of events and results. Thank god you walked away in one piece and so did the other driver. Very eye opening, we are potential travellers in the next 5 years; I’m 100% with Mr B. Regimented; too the rules; insurances locked and loaded. Well done on your new van and thankfully it’s worked out better than I expected it would. Well done RACQ. Matt
