While the ZV-E10 II has its shortcomings, I believe this camera is very important since it sets a new standard for video capabilities on cameras priced at $1,000 or less. I am looking forward to see how Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, and Panasonic will respond.
Canon already has the r10 , it has a viewfinder, better ergonomics, flash and 4k60 video. I bet canon will release a r10mkii with Clog3 and the upgraded 1.62million dot display
@@dipesh8836You are correct. I did not know that the R10 had 4K 60 recording capabilities. Unfortunately, it has a 30 minute limit when recording high frame rates, so that would be a deal breaker for me.
I would say get the r50 is you wanta hybrid experience. and the zver10 if you are more video focused. The zve10 mk ii overall is a better camera in terms of specs. But the design of the r50 would be better for hybrid shooters
What about using it to record video podcast that go over 1 hr? Was all but set on this until the part on overheating. Would use both in person and the usb mode for virtual. Thanks!
@@TechThroughTheLens thanks - I checked the FX out on your channel :) any other options you recommend? Shoot pods that are around 1 hr 20 min, often times used as webcam too.
@@mikeserman i had my zony ze10 1 on usb streaming for 2 hours and 40 min today i never saw any issues on the camera over heating and when i finally shut down the camera it didnt even feel hot to the touch.
the z30 has no rolling shutter and that is best attribute. the image is solid and great for vlogging and in the go . but its missing all the advanced video features like ai autofocus / 10 but color of cinema profiles. it’s great at one thing vlogging . but isn’t a very versatile camera
@@TechThroughTheLens Thank you! Do you think it could handle the Sony 11mm lens with an adapter well? I have one, but would like to make it work before I change systems completely. I’d like to get a lightweight wide angle lens to pair with it, but I’m having trouble finding one.
Tbh I am not sure because i have not tried it. But i think it could i believe they are both apsc lenses and the electronics should work. I would go to a camera shop and try it if you can
@@TechThroughTheLens Thank you, I decided to switch to this one. I feel like the original one may be a step down in features compared to the Nikon Z30. I loved it but that autofocus for video and lens selection made me just get rid of it.
haha. so I got out of bed woke up my dog and had to check this out at 3:47am. so I tried my unit and there is slight rattle but almost none. if the rattle is really bad you should return it
@@TechThroughTheLens Since when is ANY "rattle" acceptable on a $1,000 camera? Yes, it is "slight" if you shake it which is not normal behavior, but it should not even be "slight". Do any other Sony zooms (or other brands) do this?
active stabilization is a form of digital stabilization so the camera crops into your sensor . you get a tighter or more close up image but it’s wayy smoother ibis is specifically when the sensor has motors stabilizing it inside the camera
It should be dual-native ISO's but 640 and 2500 is for S-Log3 on this sensor. Other Gammas/Picture profiles would be different. S-cinetone is 125 and 400. Right?
I thought it should be dual native iso aswell and i asked the sony product manager and he said officially there was no dual native iso and he could not say more. So it might be missing something that the other cameras had . But based on my testing it looks pretty good in low light.
@@TechThroughTheLens That would be interesting to test. On my A6700, if I am in S-Log3, Auto ISO will only choose 800 or 2500. If I'm setting the ISO manually, I can choose other values. I wonder if it's the same on the ZV-E10 II, which would be a dead giveaway that it has dual-native.
The camera has alot going for it but the lack of IBIS makes it ideal for talking heads and perhaps stills. The walk and talk videos are shakey even with the OSS Lens on.
Here in the UK its £425 for the Mark I when on sale, or £925 for the Mark II. Best to compare selling prices not RRP. Whilst the Mark II is better is every way except mechanical shutter and price. I dont think the extra features are worth it for the target vlogger market. Ibis is also important for vloggers so a key miss IMO. I've recommended to everyone so far who asked me what they wanted to stick to mark I. Due to the price, The mark II sits in a niche, its to close to the a6700 / fx30. I think once you "need" thr mark II features, you are in the world where your budget would be fx30 at a minimum anyway. As an FYI, mark II can do 4k120. Its not in the spec sheet but it is selectable if you pick the right options on menu.

it has 4k 60 with a crop. but I fully see you point . I’m really surprised the r10 never really caught on

@dipesh8836 After doing more research, the EOS R10 is a better value. I just found out that the 4K60 mode has a 2 hour limit which is plenty.
Thanks. Just picked it up. Was thinking of saving money with the OG. But I upped it to the two. Glad I did. Thanks for the review.
Can you make a video comparing the Sony ZV-E1 Mark II vs Canon R50?

💯
I can definitely try. Thats a great idea.
Awesome, that’s the 2 I’m stuck between

personally I would buy the zve10 mk ii over the r50
Rookie camera guy here. Wandering should i get this 1 or the ZVE 10? For videos and pictures?
en el color que has puesto en la miniatura estaría chula también
Can you make a video comparing it to A6400
how well would the stabilization problem be fixed by using active stabilization in a the Lense instead?
How is the lcd brightness in outdoor sunny condition?
heaps better than Mark 1
Your RUclips gears link isn't working.
is this better than the cannon r7?

this is not a long record time camera. that is better suited for the fx30. its about 1700$

how does it do 4 120 for you?
All the same but with better stabilization?
Why does such an expensive new camera not have 4k120 when a 3 year old GoPro that costs 1/4 of the price does?
It does shoot 4k120.....
@TechThroughTheLens at 4:50 the video says: "one downside is that it does not have 4k at 120 fps"

when you buy this one. they will say iphone 15 pro is better.
its so not
Still iPhone 15 pro max make better photos and videos so who need it? 😂
can iPhone create natural blur? (not that digital fake one)
also can you see yourself while vloging on the iphone?
That is a funny joke. No smartphone can match the hardware of an actual camera.
Guys check the photo/video comparing video. You will figure out I’m right. This kind of cameras can do nothing more then iPhone 15 pro max
that’s a interesting take. I guess we will have to do a comparison
