- Fly with us into iconic Hemet-Ryan Airport on Runway 23. This airport has transient parking and self-service fuel. You’ll also find good food at Hangar One Café.
TRANSIENT PARKING
There is limited transient parking spots with only 3 spots available for small GA planes. Busy weekends at the café can make it hard to snag a spot. Overnight fees are $6/night for single engine aircraft and is handled by Hemet Ryan Aviation FBO on site. The FBO is located in the big hangar building adjacent to the self-service fuel.
FUEL
Self-service fuel is available and located just west of the Terminal Building. You can catch a glimpse of Cal Fire from here.
CREW CAR / CAR RENTAL
There are no crew cars or car rental services available here. Rideshare options are your best bet here if you aren’t being picked up by friends/family.
FOOD
Hangar One Café is a favorite SoCal airport café. Banana nut french toast is a favorite item here for breakfast. Service is friendly!

CDF 5 is expanding the runway 2500 feet across Warren Road. There will be a 12 foot high fence. Civil Air Patrol was kicked out by Angela Sorenson two years ago. Squadron 59 CAWG has been there since 1950 but Angella said it would make it a good barbershop. Hence, this squadron has not qualified a single cadet for private pilot FAR 20. Bambi's was the command post in World war 2. he Tower was constructed in World War 2 . Also the tower and hanger was used in Walt Disney Fire & Rescue.
Wow Robert, that is so much interesting information, thank you! It's really unfortunate about Civil Air Patrol. It would be so fascinating to see images of the airport when it was a military base. How do you know so much about it? It was really difficult to find any information on it.
Oh and thanks for the movie suggestion😁 I haven't seen it yet.
Enjoy all your videos. I love the Corona airport cafe. Good food. Thanks again. 👍
@@kenpeterson4555 awww thank you so much 😊. That made our day!
Another great video! Also, by the cafe I’ve seen people park along the dirt over there(NE). Not sure if it was parking as I parked in the transient but people parked there 🤷🏻♂️.
@@RaceMentally yeah I think its the same area our friend parked. We will call it the unofficial transient parking 😆 And thank you 🙏
Looks like I parked on the wrong apron for the entirety of last 2 years 🤦♂… always parked next to the 7523 plane and thought it was transient!!
@@yoice. hahaha, this was the first time we got it right. So you are not alone😅
The first 2 spots that you went to at first are also for the cafe you had them marked as reserved
Oh really, are they just only for cafe but not for overnight?
Thank you for posting this. Only three spaces for transient parking? What, do they thing no one is going to come here? Anyway if you think that the gliderport is busy now, you should have seen it in the 1970's-1980's when Don & Lois Slotten owned it; It was 'Sailplane Enterprises' and it was HOPP'IN!
@@Shift2Movies Thanks Greg! We appreciate it.
Haha right, looks like unofficially though, there are many parking spots😅
Oh really, wow, we would have loved to see pictures of it in its hayday.
Runway 22/4 are primarily for gliders, but the county won't allow it to be considered so. Just please be careful for glider operations from the North East through North West of the airport (especially if you're coming down from Redlands and/or the North). As you pointed out, it's half the length of runway 23/5 and 1/4 the width. So, does that mean glider pilots are twice as good as power pilots or four times better???
Haha, I have been told you'll learn the most about flight when doing gliders so sounds like at least twice as good🤣. Thanks so much for that information Alex about approaching the airport, that is definitely very important to remember.
