If your computer is able to do so, please view in 1440p or 4K as it provides better clarity, even if your screen is only 1080p. RUclips compression applies higher bitrates to 1440p and 4K, but not 1080p resulting in noticeable pixelation. Enjoy the video!
Newcastle to Melbourne without any traffic lights using the north connnex tunnel is excellent for car drivers, this is why you build tunnels, better movement of vehicles ✌️❤️🇬🇧
Thanks for getting this up. A good intro for someone like myself who might run this way once or twice a year. Pity about the weather and reflectivity overwhelming the exterior shots. I might look out for your fine weather episode...lol. Thanks for this one
Yeah sorry I was not able to drive through it in the day or just after opening I had some commitments that day and it decided to rain the entire night :( Glad you enjoyed mate
Great video! I too liked the southbound light installations more than the northbound ones, and wondered why they didn't do a forest one and a starry one for each. But your explanation on them being inspired by their destinations (Ku-ring-gai National Park and Sydney) makes perfect sense!
i think heading southbound they could have done the speed lines art earlier since its right at the end approaching the exit. you will also notice heading northbound at 1:20 there is consecutive overhead lights for a distance but this does not appear in the southbound direction
Yeah I'm not sure whats with the extra LED lighting before the white forest, in person you could clearly see the roof of the tunnel which is basically raw cuttings with a lot of structural lining and paint. The thing with the Speedlines is kind of ironic as they said the installations are ''not at decision points'' when just after that light feature comes the Pennant Hills Road offramp as you mentioned!
Looks Great! Toll is a bit pricey, however if there is significant traffic on the A28 I’d definitely use it. Sydney really is becoming a maze of road tunnels
I must agree I would use NorthConnex if it's terrible on the surface however since the trucks have been moved underground mostly I don't see PHR being much a problem now, my mum would probably be terrified if she had to drive that tunnel full of trucks hahaha
It actually does the exact opposite, all these lighting installations are actually designed to keep you alert since you're in a 9km tunnel. Just imagine seeing the same old tunnel for 6-7 minutes you will get bored.
@@DrivesDownUnder ohhhhh ok that’s smart. 2020 is better than the previous year cuz...amazing things happen such as NorthConnex, amazing lights, space planes...amazing stuff!

Omg since when were the lights so beautiful? Couldn’t drivers get distracted by their driving?
