A timelapse (4x speed) of a road journey from Heathcote on the southern edge of Sydney, to Vincentia in the Jervis Bay vicinity. Taking a direct route using the M1/A1 Princes Motorway and Highway, as well as Jervis Bay Road.

A little out of date, the new Nowra bridge is almost finished (still a few finishing works to do) and the Jervis Bay Road interchange is now under construction.

Work will start soon on the new Raymond Terrace bypass which will create a direct motorway link between the end of the M1 to the M1 at Raymond Terrace, and that is due to open in 2027/2028. And once that and the Coffs Harbour bypass open, you will be able to travel from Geelong, VIC to around Gympie, QLD without encountering a single set of traffic lights as far as I believe! That will certainly make a difference.

Hi, good drive. Do you use high beam or driving lights at all? There was a section between Roadworks 2 and 3 where I thought you may have hit high beam but your light pattern and the amount of reflection from the locality guidance signs (the big green ones) did not reflect back at me in full brilliance.

I moved from Nowra NSW to SA in 2018 and it made me feel very nostalgic and sad to see how much has changed without my parents driving me on those roads frequently.

I'll put it in my notes, but I don't think that would be a real possibility; I could try stitching together different videos if that would be ok? If that goes well, I could stick with it, I just need the footage from different videos to complete the entire trip/request. New videos are coming, I just tend to get busy during the first half of the year, plus COVID lockdown. Hope you're doing well.

well I’ve just noticed a few directional signs with alphanumerical route numbers have now become border less and now looks like the rest of Australia
Yep, they changed our alphanumeric signs in 2020 to pretty much match shields in Victoria etc. You might see these examples of signs e.g. before the Airport Tunnel on General Holmes drive westbound, the signs for the M5 East were changed for the M8 opening and toll reintroduction and therefore have a rather blunt "M5" on it that looks like standalone yellow text.
Recall much of this back when it was a concrete road.. Was a regular tripper between Wollongong and Wyong from 1965 when there was no dour and dull M1 or F3 or even the Calga Expressway. My best time ever between the two places was before any of the aforementioned sections existed.
Can imagine it was a great stretch of road. How was traffic back then being it was a 2 lane road for most of the length?

I'm not actually sure if anyone lives up on the escarpment north of the Bulli Pass, seems quite barren although you are correct that it is north of Wollongong!

What does the D1 mean?
Detour Route 1. Whenever the Pacific Motorway is closed or suffering delays like in this video between Wahroonga and Doyalson, motorists can opt to use D1 instead.

Thanks! I would contest your claim about not hearing accidents on any mwy but M4. After all ozzie has some of the stupidest drivers on the planet. I strive to improve my videos where ever possible but I would agree I'm not on par with bigger creators like me. I also did not expect as many views on this one as it doesn't sound as interesting. Hi Justin, usually no lights at all apart from at on/off ramps. We're basically relying on our headlights on not just dual carriageways but also roads that don't pass through urban areas.
Nice to see that part of the world again. Do you know what they are doing with all those dividers etc. through Warrawee and Wahroonga blocking those turning lanes? Other than that everything looks the same haha

However I recall numerous times just after the current dividers the abrupt left lane end northbound for a couple years for this apartment construction as well
