Thanks!!! I have a 2017 dodge ram and had the same problem. Didn't want to break anything so i just unbolted it from the firewall. Doing a mds delete and have to send itnoff to get unlocked. Saved me a huge headache and saved me from breaking the shit out of the connector 😂

Not just the pcm... usually (for Jeeps anyway) it isnt the connectors themselves but the solder joints go bad.
Pcms at least for the obd2 pcms arent expensive.. 100$ tops. How much are more ( modern) ones ?
I hate new cars.. the way your desbribing these pcms... what a nightmare. The original 90s pcms can swap from vehicle to vehicle.. easy peasy
