Nice tests, I would have also have liked to see the noise level on the Platinum in this area, to see if it is worth buying if you already have the Mavic
Low-Noise props on Mavic Pro need around 500rpm less than old props to hold Mavic in the air, this is the main reason why Mavic can fly longer (they have around 7-8% lower rpm and with that few % more of flight time) Besides all that, they have a different sound frequency, and for our ears they really sound better.
@Tom : should've compared these propellers with the blue edge technology by Airbus. It's not really like airplane winglets which are used to generate less drag.
Actually the RPMs AR Lower when you use the Platinum propellers which will give you about 1 or 2 minutes longer on the mavic pro.. If you look at the mavic Pro Controller you can easily see the RPM difference.. ;)
I knew we could count on Tom for a true test with proper equipment. :) BTW, winglets increase sound via drag. However, they catch the wingtip vortices for thrust, thereby saving fuel.
The drone definitely looked like it was shaking more with the new props. Ive read this is the case for others in the forums. Any noticeable difference in video quality or flight stability?
can you just put on the other propellers and are ready to go or does the mavic or anything else needs to be set up sot hat it knows that now other props are installed?
What about the shadows cast over the lense on a sunny day? There are noticeable lines going over footage at some angles due to the extra width and lower RPM’s.
My first flight seemed a little quieter, but the next day, mu change louder even than the original props. What do you think is happening? Overall my Mavic has gotten louder and louder since i first began flying it. I have 43 hrs. Of flight time with the original props.. By the way, thank you for your work.
I think the most significant thing about these propellers isn't the lower noise, it's actually the much lower pitch of the "humming" sound. It doesn't sound like a very angry swarm of wasps anymore, and also, this lower noise fades out much sooner than the hihgher pitched sound of the old propellers, meaning that the drone is not as audible at the same distance. Especially for things like filming weddings and other gatherings, that is a big improvement.
Recently ran into the issue of my mavic getting condensation inside the lens. Has anybody experienced this before? May be due to the weather as Vancouver is getting colder, but still boggles my mind as I haven't heard many people experiencing this issue.
Just be aware of the fact that many people report having crashed their drone while using the new propellers because they hit the body, which can happen with wind gusts or sudden movement like emergency braking or something. I personally won't use these on a Mavic Pro.
actually for this test also not reflect what actual propeller effect it is. after my test . i would said DJI are success design this low noise propeller . actually its should call low noise "tone" propeller . its noticable by the low tone which is much less annoying or scary propeller noise from the previous design. like for this new low noise tone propeller design.
Actually I’ve seen a test somewhere else on RUclips concluding that the new propellers gives 1,5 min flight time extra in specs and 1 min in test. Haven’t tested it myself yet.

Welcome back, Tom!!! We were waiting for new videos from you! Thanks! Cheers from Buenos Aires, Argentina
Hi Tom , is it ok if I only replace 1 pair of the prop on the front but remain the old prop at the back? Does it work well too? Thanks!
@@goksi5883 nope that won't work.. it will be unbalanced
You are back Tom!! Is a pleasure to watch your videos again! Cheers Javier from Argentine.
Nice video, Tom! Also great idea to test the sound standing under the drone when its hovering at 10 meters altitude. Thumbs up!
Thanks for this great test! Any performance / trust / speed differences?
How are you using the new ones they hit the back of the body

Best low noise prop vid on the Mavic I've seen. Great work n thx.

The new props are a lot more flexible, so I suspect that they will be less responsive with any change of direction from pilot input.
How do they do in performance? The quiet ones appeared more unstable than the original.
The drone definitely looked like it was shaking more with the new props. Ive read this is the case for others in the forums.

Would be interesting to do a frequency analysis on the prop noise - sounds higher subjectively though

Tom, what about flight characteristics? Better/worse/same during flight? Any difference in responsiveness?
Much more responsive
Scott Manthey thanks for the reply....... more responsive in all aspects?
Did you check the balance of the blades before the noise tests?
Please try it on sport mode, full power forward and up at the same time, i have heard some weird things about it, can you test it for us?
What about the shadows cast over the lense on a sunny day? There are noticeable lines going over footage at some angles due to the extra width and lower RPM’s.
Hi can you get them or do they make them for the phantom 3 as well?
Great now DJI can make this for Phantom series, especially for the 3rd. I can hear it over 3 blocks away next to two major streets intersections.

Greg Stewart On board pc prob adjusting to make up for standard props. Keeping it at factory rpm .
Great video again
please compare with a swarm of angry bees
I've heard the motors run hotter with the new props. Is that true?
Thanks for that just ordered some
01:37 the nice tip about the propellers
how many propellers come in a pack?
This is why I love flying the DJI Spark more due to less noise. Have you measured the noise level on the Spark?
Good tutorial.. Thanks.
Does anyone have trouble folding them up under the drone on the Mavic, because they are fatter/bigger?
Thank You!
Is it good or bad if i use low noise prop for my mavic pro? motor effect? Esc effect? Please assist me....
From Malaysia

kkkkkkk
Nice vid!
Hey Tom! You're awsome! Ha dsome! Thanks for the video.
I got horrendous gimbal vibrations. using mavic low noise Propellers.
they need to be balanced.
Recently ran into the issue of my mavic getting condensation inside the lens. Has anybody experienced this before? May be due to the weather as Vancouver is getting colder, but still boggles my mind as I haven't heard many people experiencing this issue.
gev I store mine with silica packets to draw out any condensation.
Store in closed container with silica gel and it should works, mine worked!
I added the platinum props to my mavic pro. They set off my front sensors and caused the drone to stop abruptly.
I was flying fast forward. About 100ft.
Just be aware of the fact that many people report having crashed their drone while using the new propellers because they hit the body, which can happen with wind gusts or sudden movement like emergency braking or something. I personally won't use these on a Mavic Pro.

like for this new low noise tone propeller design.
I’ve got some. Defiantly quieter. Ps. Maybe chuck a LUT on your footage ; )
Jaybee Defiantly or definitely?
these propellers make my gimbal shake uncontrollably!
Do you have the gimbal clamp in?
Actually I’ve seen a test somewhere else on RUclips concluding that the new propellers gives 1,5 min flight time extra in specs and 1 min in test.
Haven’t tested it myself yet.
Not new results, but the same as all the others...thanks
My eyes does not support any LUT, Tom's! :)
Wij van WC-eend... juist.
you mean less fearful people, not feared.
Ich kann kein englisch😖
