      Facts!That’s the part everyone tends to miss here! A lot of good HC/GM duos but these two are different because of how they’re mutually fatuated with physically dominant and high IQ players. When you have a duo with experience in one organization like these two (15+ years) they know exactly what each other are looking for. Injuries have plagued Tomlins success imo. A healthy deep squad will carry him back to another Lombardi. 💯

      With 2 quality starting receivers, a rookie who likely won't see half the snaps & Watkins & Jefferson? They didn't even take the best players at the positions they _did_ take, (edit) & going after LB, the One Position they have depth at instead of filling a need is inexcusable!
      They wasted assets getting Van Jefferson & Quez Watkins that they could have traded for Stefon Diggs. Ah well, at least they got more trade-bait if it all collapses.

    • @JourneyWoodworks
      @JourneyWoodworks 29 дней назад +3

      @choosecarefully408 how did they waste assets? Jefferson and Watkins were free agents. Who do you think they should have picked?

    • @choosecarefully408
      @choosecarefully408 29 дней назад

      @@rileyc.362 I ain't slammin' Wilson & I'm not _really_ slamming Khan. Coaches & GMs are no less or more wise to when media gets things wrong. It feels like they lost sight of the Bigger Picture. They _tried to_ draft the best player at every pick, but they were all over the map. If one stops being a fan for a second let's _really look_ at their circumstance.
      They started with no depth anywhere *but* LB. Herbig, Highsmith, Queen, Watt. They had need Everywhere Else with no ability to fill them all.
      You back up & prioritize. Even if they "were sure" they had a deal (Aiyuk) in the makings, plan for contingencies. They were one injury away from having Just Freiermouth. Having no receiving corps neutralizes *two positions,* not one.
      So I'm not being peevish. If they thought they had an upgrade at QB, there is No Excuse For this. I mean sure, maybe Fields has the ability to make this work. He made the Bears the #1 offense in the league 3 weeks running with Claypool & Mooney, 2 guys incapable of catching passes that land on them.
      But that was almost entirely with his legs. & the Steelers _have_ 2 RBs. Their defense already kept them in games. Did they lose anyone big on defense? Their RBs were their attack. Still have those. They didn't do this process, shored up where there was far less need.

    I think I finally understand how I feel about Tomlin as a coach. He is a PHENOMENAL general coach and teacher, especially on defense, who can bring the team together and get them all on the same page individually and collectively. He is also a great motivator. But he is not a great specialist. Every head coach needs other assistant coaches who specialize in different aspects of the game, I get it. But Tomlin REALLY needs them. And it seems like he has that, especially with Arthur Smith as OC.

    The Steelers did for Russell Wilson what the Denver Broncos absolutely, steadfastly refused to do: provide competent pass protection. Y'all went out and got some beasts to protect him in the draft. He's going to have an excellent year. Denver is going to have another stinker because competent pass protection is so foreign to them, and they NEVER, EVER learn. Wait a couple of years, and you'll be able to pick up Bo Nix to succeed Wilson, because the Broncos will have run him off for not being successful behind the shitty protection they provide.

      It’s very funny. All 32 teams think they “filled holes” and “got better” every single year. Steelers had a nice draft no doubt and these guys have potential. However Baltimore and Cincy also had really good drafts and I would take their QBs over Steelers.

    For years now our biggest weakness Hass been our secondary. We have needed corners for a very very long time. We also need someone at the safety position..if no one has noticed the NFL is no longer focused on rb, it has become more of a passing game. With that horrible prevent, defense we play I just don't see this being much better than the last cpl of years. The biggest issue to me is teams have grown and have different looks but you can sit at home and call every play. The Steelers are predictable and if they don't come out with different looks and game plans you will see nothing different. They did get a good group of guys and it solves a cpl of issues but we have more issues that must be dealt with bf the season or Steeler Nation will once again see a team you cannot count on. That's the way I see it.

    Hasta ahora todo bien,si fracasan nuevamente Omar Khan tendra el valor de quitar a Mike Tomlin? Espero equivocarme pero con todos estos jugadores nuevos con el mismo Mike Tomlin con 14 temporadas sin llegar al Supebol y su sistema que todos sus adversarios conocen se sobra no esperamos algo que pueda cambiar.

      Maybe you should reflect on what’s missing in your own life when you feel the need to criticize someone who has nothing to do with what you are paying attention to. Especially when your opinion on what you are paying attention to has zero value.

    I really like The Khan Artists he may go on to be better than the guy he replaced he is aggressive and is trying everything to get the pices to vring us to the next level the Rooneys just hire right they cracked the code back in the 70s and to think when they put the Rooney rule in to place wich was the main reason Mike T got the interveiw he didn't have a lot of experence before he got the job he was a DB coach for a few years a special teams coach for like a year or two and a defensive cordinator for 1 year he came from out of no where I was stunned when we hired him and he turned out to be one of the best coaches in football for the better part of 20 years a Steeler type of guy our own rule cameback and gave us the perfect replacement for another lengend who in very simular fashioned came from out of no where to replace another legend we have the best owners legacys coaches some of the best players of all time and the best fans in all of Sports I love The Steelers and Steeler nation
