Thanks for uploading this just fixed mine and can now shift freely Tip for anyone else doing this the top bolt on the mechanism is easier to access from above
looked at lupo and its not the same parts as yours . its one of the arms that slides i think is the prob the one that is held on with a pic not bolted on
Great video! I have a similar issue but I can't seem to get it to stay in reverse gear. Having to hold it in when reversing, and even then it slips. Don't suppose you would have any ideas or usual causes? Its a lupo 02 1.7 SDI. Thanks again for sharing!
Great video, what holds that shaft in, is there a circlip on the other end ?? My lupo gears are all tight, thought it might be the cables. But will look at what you did first. Many thanks
Mines stick/lever is rlly smooth. But the clutch travels like 20cm down before engaging, and then 1 cm up before hooking with the engine. After that theres like 20cm of complete mysteryland where i have no idea why the clutch is still not letting go
@@daigosaito888 get a new clutch disc and clutch cable, i had the exact same issue bro, its hard to drive but once that issue is fixed the car will be a joy, much better than the modern crap for sale nowadays.
This was a while back. From what I can remember I just disconnected everything in neutral. The gear linkage cables pop off. I made a note of the position of the mechanism that attaches to the transmission before taking it all apart. I hope that makes sense.

Thanks, i had the same problem on my Polo 6N2. I also lubricated bowden cable rods and now i can shift easily with one finger.
Thanks a lot, had the same issue and fixed it with the help of your video
Thanks just picked up a Lupo that’s doing the same. Will give this a go.

My Lupo is the same, I know what I'll be doing tomorrow
How did you set up the gear linkage to the cable on refitting, as they are on sliders?

@@fastcoast yes thank you, In the end I put the gearstick on neutral then put my gearbox in neutral then lined it up, many thanks for the vid
hello, what kind of lubricant did you use
Dear
I think I have same problem.
Number: 6N0711089A
Speed 1-3-5 correct but 2-4 not working
I hope repair it with this video.
Did you repair it? 2nd and 4th not working could also be cables.
I've got same issues with my Lupo & was wondering if the unit was removed from when working under the car? Cheers.
Hi. The car was on axel stands to allow access from the underneath. I don't think that you will be able to reach it from above.
What kind of grease did you used?
White bearing grease. It was just what I had in the garage at the time.
Good music backing track but it gets so loud you can hardly tell what it is you're actually saying!
Yeah sorry. I had to put a backing track on as there was music playing in the background that meant copyright issues.
