@@VictorLionsTV And if they still had All-Star Reggie Theus at PG that season (still scratching my head over that trade they made with the Kings, lol) and someone more polished like Hubie Brown coaching them instead of Doug Collins, they would've given Detroit a way harder time than they did in that ECSF. Sucks that Gilmore was already in his twilight years by then. Had they even gotten back the Spurs-era Artis they make the Finals with that squad for sure.

Gilmore at 7-2” was around 280-290 at this time. Eaton was so huge he made Gilmore look like a PF.

Eaton was arguably the most intimidating player in NBA history in terms of size. He made giants like Kareem or Gilmore look small.

70sFan there’s a famous pic of Eaton, K. Malone, and John Stockton together. Malone is 6-9” and was 265 and Stockton was 6-1” and 185.... Eaton made Malone look like a point guard and Stockton like a middle School player.

@@70sfan It wasn't just his height either, he had a huge frame and wingspan. That and he had a "scary" face. Rik Smits was also 7"4 but he didn't make guys look as small as Eaton did.

MIKE EATON was also not just TALL. INTIMIDATING and LONG WONGSPAN.. EATON can play phisical and has skill as a CENTER.. his a force. imagine BIG MARK EATON was with UTAH in the 95=98 SEASON and his PRIME.. JAZZ will be a CHAMPION for sure.. EATON was more menacing than both GREG OSTERSTAG and GREG FOSTER combined

Only time Jordan and Gilmore ever played together on the Bulls. Too bad Artis was at least 3-4 years removed from the tail end of his prime at that point, but he still was a physical presence in the paint that opposing teams just had to respect.

Gilmour really is that strong, that's like one few times you will ever really see Karl Malone get rocked like that and Gilmour was at end of his career. Usually when Oakley bumps into people they move even his teammates, Gilmour just there like it's nothing. Most today's players have no idea how it's like play against giants like Eaton and Gilmour.

The southpaw match. 😂. Gilmore limited himself by not developing a right hand shot. Kareem shot with either hand and that gave Kareem more versatility. Plus, Kareem had that amazingly consistent Skyhook.
