- Junior Brown With Warren Haynes sitting in on Slide Guitar on Elmore James' Dust My Broom from The Wanee Fest 2008 @ Spirit of the Suwanee Music Park in Live Oak, Fl. This was from the Mushroom Stage in the Midnight Time Slot on April 11th 2008. Warren has some technical difficulties at times but still a fine performance.
Elmore James y Robert Jhonson siguen vivos!!!
I knew that Junior Brown was a first-rate singer, songwriter, and guit-steel maestro. I didn't know he could sing the blues, and do it mighty good. Is there anything this guy can't do? Anybody who can jam with Warren Haynes (especially with the amplifier acting up) has something special going for him. It's called talent, and Junior does not hide it under a bushel.
This just made my day! Jr can flat tear it up!
Jr is a fine blues man. I had no idea.
Was going through some old video cards and found a bunch of live stuff, so I put it up here.
awesome slide !go warren !!great vid !!!!!
Worried about Warren, never seen him this heavy. Want him around for a long time.
JR BROWN IS HARD TO KEEP UP WITH, HE'S A HARD WORKER AND HE WORK'S HIS BAND , HE'S A LEGEND FOR SHORE. LOVE HIS MUSIC.
I was there. It's 2:30 in the morning! Warren did great in spite of the technical difficulties! Junior Brown hard to keep up with as well!
Even Warren Haynes has equipment problems! This makes me feel so much better! LOL!
aaahhh the ol' chiltlin circuit trick ya have your spare amp there with a couple bum tubes for the guys that show up to jam....and if you need that spare the good tubes are lying in the bottom.....
If you have equipment, you will always have equipment problems. I have doubles and triples of equipment and I just play at home.
That's why I like my MORGAN AMPS,
I CAN QUICKLY DIAL UP A TONE.. FOR MOST SITUATIONS..
THAT MORGAN 66.. WITH THE CANNABIS REX.. HEMP SPEAKERS
I CAN GET EVERYTHING BUT BLEW UP.. NASTY OLD SCHOOL TONE...
AND NO PROBLEM TO GET JUST THE BREAK UP YOU NEED..
RITE TO SMOKING HOT.. ROCK...
Glad you found it even if there were tech issues!
oh man, this is great! I also recorded this, but my camera DIED that night, and of the handful of very short clips I salvaged off the dead camera, this was one of them... it's up on my channel. i'm THRILLED to finally see 'the rest of it!' thanks for posting!!
Jr Brown is hard to keep up with. Warren is no slouch.
Truely Two Of the Best Pickers Around
Why not swap out the amp, surely they have backup?
You been holding out a while to upload this one!
Great vid.
It's like Tommy Chong said in that movie about amps.
This is actually a Robert Johnson song. Elmore James made the slid version popular later on. Damn just when some guy starts upstaging Warren his amp has to act up too. He should have me as his tech. For the right price I guarantee this will not happen.;LOL It sounds like a bad cord jack or the PI tube is heading south. That will shake anyone up when you feel you have to pick it up a notch and your amp kicks it down a notch, or just kick out. Removing the beverage from the amp is advised also.
@mash535 At first I thought maybe cord or jack, but the way the amp is getting worse as the song goes on I am now leaning toward a bad PI tube. Fender amps are famous for eating those for breakfast. For a guy like Warren I have some genuine Mullards, and some Philips JAN short plates set back, all made in either The USA, or The UK. Heck Warren could afford the West German, or Eindhoven Holland ECC 81s. The latter are great. All it takes is for a roadie to knock the amp around a bit & surprise!
Sounds like Warren is having problems with his guitar...sounds like the jack is loose..still a great performance
Warren is good, but there's a reason Derek Trucks is the slide player with the Allman Bros.
Warren is a GREAT slide player, plus more versatile than Derek. THAT’s the reason why Derek was the slide player for ABB.
Is that Hurley from Lost rockin' the Blues?
