I’ve done this before with a variegated yarn that the colors didn’t pool in a pleasing way with the pattern I chose. So glad I used the yarn to create something that better complimented the yarn.

What an satisfying episode! I really enjoyed it, and it was so nice to see all your Knuts and be inspired. I would love an episode where we get to see all your knitted socks. I love how tidy it was afterwards in your drawer. I hope to have as much knits as you do. I am trying to think and only knit items I can give to friends and family and items that would suit my cloth style. But it is gard, cause there is so many beautiful knits I wanna do! I love knitting the Stephen West shawls, but they are so big that I find they often aren't super practical to wear. I've taken to draping a shawl over the back of my office chair so it provides something interesting to look at when I'm on zoom calls :)
I love spring cleaning and how each time there are fewer items to remove! I have not yet made enough items to start decluttering them but appreciate you sharing and "giving permission" for when the time comes, it can be hard to allow yourself to get rid of something you spent a lot of time (and probably money) on.
For the not-keeping pile, I am most pleased when I can give them to someone who appreciates them. Before working from home, I would take them to my office and let people choose. I have discovered I'm not wearing the shawls either. I've stopped knitting them. And, I'm rethinking purchases I made for shawls. Very often the yarn becomes hats that I can then donate.
If you are looking to utilize more of the depth of your drawer you may want to try out using a fold or a slightly different shaped roll and that may help you to get more space out of that particular drawer. This worked for me with a t-shirt drawer, I was able to change the fold method I was using to make the t-shirts taller (and this made them thinner) to take advantage of the full depth of the drawer and then I was able to have more space and still view each of the shirts and designs in a single layer.
I was thinking that too, or doing a double layer of seasonal for example now that its warming up the knit t-shirts will get worn, but the sweaters probably not so you could stack t-shirts over sweaters and then during the winter they can swap.
I’m a process knitter not a product knitter so I tend to give the projects I make to local homeless shelters. That way someone who needs it will be warmer and I got the mental puzzle of a new pattern

I went through my hand made sweaters/cardis a few weeks ago. I sorted them into "keep" "need to modify" "unsure" and "get ride of". My plan is to try on the "unsure" and decide between keep and get ride of. I have a lot that are "need to modify" One the ends are woven in, another was a test and we had to do bell sleeves and thats my only issue with the sweater is I hate the sleeves. I've noticed when I go through stuff I have to be in the mindset to get rid of things or else I'll keep to much. One sweater got frogged, the rest I'll try to gift to friends/family and then I'll try a local outreach that deals with rehabilitating homeless.
Another way to get rid of a hand knit you make but don't actually like wearing, especially if it's a newer pattern, would be to donate it to your LYS so they can use it as a shop sample
Would love to know how you decide what patterns you buy versus not? I think it's admirable to find new homes for things. I know some people aren't happy about donating them to goodwill but you may be able to put a tag on them that says handwash and care? So many people thrift these days.. I have far too much yarn. I am freaking out that you are getting rid of your beautiful stylish sweaters! Getting from gauge swatch to FO takes me so long, it’s hard to imagine it going out the door once finished.
I would never take hand knits to goodwill. Most people wouldn’t know how to care for them. They would throw them in the washer and dryer, ruin them then throw them away. Defeats the purpose. You didn’t mention frogging them, that’s what I would do if I loved the yarn. As a matter of fact, I’m doing that now with my first handmade crochet cardigan.
You’re getting rid of your Lumme? I test knitted that. Actually I gave mine to my daughter :) I need to go through my non-knitwear and get rid of about 75% of my clothes!
I'm a little confused. I hear you say something remarkable. You knit and sometimes you already know you don't want to wear it. Why? You can stop and 🐸 or you 🎁 it. Just knit what you need and love. Be kind to yourself. 💕🥰

Another way to "get rid" of them would be to reuse the yarn. Either rip them out now or put them in your stash like a ball of yarn.
