Your love of rural China reminds me of Pearl Buck’s novel/biography- My Several Worlds. She expressed her love of Chinese culture and its people with words and you do it with camera hundred years later!! Thank you for sharing 👍👍👍
Katherine , you really do get around in China. And to have command of the language. Wow ! That's special. We close our eyes and dream we are there. You take us there with your videos. They are so well. Thank you for the lovely tour. Sendind you Best Wishes from Richmond, Va. 😍😍 Jim and Harriet
Hi Kathrine, I am also nuts over village lives so I will be travelling with you to all the villages . Looks like you destined to be born in the USA and to live in CHINA !!!
“Old baby in her thirties” same Yanzi, same 😌 Adding fried mulberry leaves to my bucket list for when I visit my sister next year. This scenery is gorgeous! Living in Alberta Canada, our fall lasts about a week. Not very satisfying…
@ the East coast has a lovely fall! Us middle provinces not so much haha. We were lucky this year with a solid month or so, but that’s very unusual! Half the problem is the wind on the prairies blows the leaves off right away…
“Her English sounds just like Kamala Harris”, 😂 and you even translated it here! It reminds me of when I first moved to the States, and people told me I looked like the girl from the movie Rush Hour (even though I clearly don’t) 😂
Katherine has good taste. I think the conifer she picked is the exquisite Dawn Redwood, a relative of the giant sequoia from California, the US. The Sequoioideae subfamily has only three surviving trees. They are all giants. The two sequoias from West Coast America grow in USDA zone 9. The sole relative outside America is the Dawn Redwood from China. This one is hardy to USDA zone 4.
Dear, let me tell you some news. When former US President Richard Nixon visited China, he gave China a gift of a redwood tree. Later, China produced a "redwood" cigarette brand, which of course is now incorporated into the "Nanjing" brand. cigarette. This deed was recorded on the cigarette box at that time.
Mature redwood trees are 60-100 meters high and have a particularly long lifespan. Many of them are 2000-3000 years old. The redwood tree grows rapidly and is recognized as one of the most valuable tree species in the world. When U.S. President Richard Nixon arrived in Hangzhou, my country, in 1972, he also brought four precious redwood and giant sequoia saplings. The cedar tree is a famous tree species in Nixon's home state of California and is the oldest and tallest tree species in the world. It is said that when Nixon visited Hangzhou again in 1982, he specifically visited one of the redwood trees. The redwood tree has grown from 2.4 meters to 7.75 meters, and the second generation of redwood trees is also growing well. He thanked the garden experts and employees for their good management and hard work, and said that the redwood tree can live for 2,000 years, and the friendship between the people of China and the United States should last forever like the redwood tree.

😍😍😍. LOVE YOUR ADVENTURE SPIRIT! LOVE IT! If more people would visit China ...there wouldn't be such anti-Chinat, that was placed there by our US govt and media!
The whole valley actually kind of gives me Vermont or southeast Canada vibe, very peaceful and beautiful. I am going back in this coming May, there are also some beautiful villages and natural scenery in my hometown as well. I wish I could introduce it to you guys ❤ As always, Katie同学,enjoy every moment and be safe.
Nice video, really interesting to watch this mountain village and its surroundings. Fantastic scenery indeed. I agree, Autumn is so beautiful, with its extraordinary colours. It looks like a picture!! Happy you are enjoying it! Thank you Katherine and take care ⭐️💕🍀
we're having a similar fall ! (or maybe winter now, ha) we have fallen red pine needles here too in MA, but it just depends on the forest. most of the ones we've been hiking are largely leaves, but we went up to one recently that was ONLY pine needles. reminds me of camping. loved seeing an update and new video ! hope you're doing well
The infrastructures in the Chinese village show it is not just between cities across the country that is world class. The dirt road paths between the farmland are paved with concrete now and village people are living in modern three story single family homes. It has elevated people's living standards in such a short timeframe. That is just amazing! I was in your neighborhood a few weeks ago and saw the "Baby Fish". 為什麼叫娃娃魚?他的叫聲就像個娃娃。No thank you. When are you getting married? When your parents come in the Spring? Your biological clock is ticking!
planning to have a kid at 31-32, i still have 2-3 more years of adventures then it's time to settle down, LOL! my parents are coming at the end of April, if all goes to plan, they do hate traveling 😂
@@kats_journey_east I am going to have an around of world trip next Spring, flying eastward to cut flying time. San Diego to Boston to see my grandkids, Berlin next then train to Prague and Budapest. Then fly to Uzbekistan, Beijing and Tokyo before flying back to San Diego. Stop at each place for at least four days. That is a lot of traveling that your parents wouldn't like. Hey, I am retired, and I want to see things before getting too old. I have done similar around of world trip before. Remember, flying eastward in the northern hemisphere to cut flying time, jet stream!
Katherine, those deciduous coniferous are larch. Don't you have them in your part of the States? They're quite common in Quebec, though a different species I guess. Anyway, another great video! I also like fall, the way it is in my home (Quebec): the fresh air the fall colors, the smell of dead leaves, perfect for hiking. But now I live in Hangzhou. One day I'll visit your area!
I took a road trip from ZhaoQing Canton, all the way to Shanghai with my hubby this Nov. we saw many rural sides....sad we didn't really stop to live around but they all looked pretty nice
Autumn is my favourite season too, a season for joy and happiness, and, apart from the Autumn leaves 🍁, are the waiting and the anticipation, as Christmas is just around the corner, then the New Year, and in China, you have the Chinese New Year to follow, and then St Valentine Day (for some at least!). Interesting video as always. 👍

Autumn season is a very good time for hiking in China. Thank you for letting us know the rural life in China. Quiet and calm, peaceful and joyful.
little Chinese Everywhere just released a video showing autumn in Mohe, the most northern town in China, very impressive too!
