    I have a sort of out there question about this. and you seem well informed. I am new to armor making, and I want to try to make a set with this technique, however I am curious about how sturdy it is? As I plan to make it for a LARP game. do you think it can withstand being struck by foam weapons if made right?

    Does worbla stretch a little?

    • @coregeek
      @coregeek  6 лет назад

      It does a bit. The hotter it is the more stretchy it becomes.

    What method do you use to know the shape of the item flat to make before rounding it? Please. Very well done video as well btw, I enjoy it :)

      I use the cellophane/foil and ducttape patterning method. Check out Evil Ted's foam armor patterning videos he covers it extensively here. ruclips.net/video/ho5BIBxwiPA/видео.html

    Brilliant - loved that you made a small item to show the process because I need to make very small items for warrior dolls that I hope to make. Been trying to make a sword no longer than 6cm long - difficult to show any definition - any ideas

      +Linda Martin The newer black worbla might work better for you since it seems to have less of a grain than the tan stuff... Since your working at such a small scale have you considered going the sculpting route with something like Apoxie Sculpt? It's really easy to work with and you can get all kind of fine detailing. Once it dries it's rock hard as well.

    Thanks for the great video! Keep them coming!
    Do you have any advice for a good way to keep the worbla in a desired shape while it cools? I like what you used in this video, however, if it's an unusual shape such as elaborate shoulder armor (for example : Demon Hunter from Diablo 3) any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    • @coregeek
      @coregeek  9 лет назад

      You can probably shape worbla around just about anything. Just be sure to test surfaces first to make sure the worbla doesn't stick to your form. For example: I used a mini soccer ball to shape the curved potion of my daughters Loki armor.

    This is awesome, thank you so much for the video. Now I can't wait to start working on my ring wraith cosplay....or the other dozens of armor cosplays I want to work on. Me and EVA foam didn't quite work out well the first time. May try again eventually but wanted to work with worbla due to two of my projects having quite possibly difficult pieces.

      I enjoy working with either depending on the costume. The each definietly have their pros and cons.

    It seems the smoothing video linked in the description is not available anymore. Could you recommend a reosurce for this?

    • @coregeek
      @coregeek  2 месяца назад

      I took it down because it was too outdated. Using spray on filler primer is probably the easiest and quickest way to smooth Worbla.

    I just got a jumbo roll of worbla. First build though, any tips on making multipiece armor with an organic look rather than just "armor"? Similar to Guyver: bioboosted armor.

    Could Worbla be used to stiffen a foam costume after it's been made?
    My foam costume's painted surface has started to crack and I'd like to know if I can reinforce it with worbla on the inside.

    • @coregeek
      @coregeek  2 года назад

      The rigidity with worbla usually comes from both sides being covered. This could help though. I’d be sure to use contact cement between the two as well.

    I did have my worbla scraps put up and then my fiance's grandma "cleaned" our closet that didnt even NEED to be cleaned and she threw away my scraps and I didn't realize she did until maybe week or months later... I was BEYOND pissed. I even put on the container "DO NOT THROW AWAY". Not only did she go through MY shit but she threw away something I told them not to.... 85 or so dollars a jumbo roll.... that I bought out of MY paycheck.... gah! #cosplayproblems

    First time I see armor where foam is used under the worbla instead of layering either worbla or using just foam and for me this looks by far the best for detailled designs (katarina weapons in my case), thanks a lot for the video and the idea!

    Can Worbla be used to cast a tight casting mold of some ones face? Like you would with plaster cloth? Or making fake skin and wounds!

    • @coregeek
      @coregeek  9 лет назад

      +Keith I don't think you could face cast with it. The heat involved to active it would not be good on your face. Not sure about the rest, it may work but it's probably not flexible enough.
