I like how Barok’s breakdown is slowly built up throughout the game. His suffering and pain increases throughout the second game and at the final case he is at his last straw, he snaps when the truth about the Professor is known to him. He breaks. As you slowly go closer towards the truth, his actions become more agitated and shows his mental pain. Then he breaks-down upon knowing the identity of the Professor. I like how built up it is. It is short but effective, I adore the 360 rotating camera angle while he breaks down further. You never expect him to break down because of how calm, collected and put together he is in court so his breakdown comes as a surprise and is rewarding for how hostile he is to the player. It is punishment for his racism, as his blame towards the Japanese was ultimately in the wrong because they didn’t contribute to the Professor. One of the best breakdowns and one of the best characters.

There will never be another villain like Von Karma. No one else was as satisfying to catch as him, Engarde being a close second. Him objecting on every press, always having a backup plan so that your little victories against him are either meaningless or short-lived impacted the player on the same level that it did Phoenix. For all intents and purposes, he was the true final boss of the Ace Attorney trilogy.
@@KrishMortyJunior It's really the only one who objects to nearly every press. He interrupts you, saying that it's a waste of time to interrogate the witness (which, in restrospective, he's right about, he prepared the witnesses so well you wouldn't get much new either way). He is the only one who frustrates the player, as in the two cases beforehand, you have learned the interest of pressing the witness, to get information at best, or a funny conversation at worse, and Von Karma denies you that. Not only to Phoenix, but to the player, who may have grown accustomed to pressing witnesses.
The Great Ace Attorney final boss was also a fantastic final boss! Personally I think all of the final villains in these games could be anyone’s favourite!
Mimi's breakdown made me sad. Like yeah she did it. Yeah she tried to frame someone else. Does she belong in prison? Of course. But I kind of get her motive.
@@KrishMortyJuniorThey’re all major villains to each of the games series, and it kind of was a terrible idea. If you had to include the breakdowns maybe put breakdowns from all of the first cases instead of using major villains ESPECIALLY for people like stronghart and lady keera
From what I've seen of the series, whenever a culprit has all of their lies exposed, they'll give a "So you've seen through my nefarious plan!" speech. I wonder if the series will ever have a more realistic liar, one who continues to lie even past the bitter end. Like "I don't care what forensics says, that's not _my_ DNA!"
My favorite breakdowns: 22:59 Kristoph Gavin(Most spectacular in my opinion) 8:56 Phoenix Wright (Because he made me laugh hard) 15:43 Dalhia (Although forget what I said about Kristoph, this is better) 1:56:43 Simon Keyes (Best breakdown with real identity revealed (for example, Matt Engarde's first breakdown)) 16:46 Godot (The only breakdown that made me cry) My least favorites (my opinion here and spoilers): 1:49:02 Quercus Alba (Maybe I don't like this breakdown because of how boring it was to explain to him why Edgeward was right if he could have already arrested him when he lost his position) 2:20:27 flinch (The most ridiculous one here) I also want to note the breakdown of Von Karma... from the anime because there is not that pounding against the wall, but just some kind of scream, which is just sad because of how they could have made this scene gorgeous.
McGilded’s reminds me of the end of AJ with the “when the verdict was handed down, special witness Kristoph Gavin laughed. A laugh that echoed for hours. A laugh that was louder than any other ever heard in the courtroom.”
This is a nice video and all, but spoiling 5 of the biggest mysteries of the Ace Attorney series in the thumbnail is such a horrible thing to do. When I stumbled across this thumbnail, I was a new Ace Attorney fan who just wanted to see people's reactions to Von Karma's breakdown, and for my curiosity I got bombarded with the biggest twists in the entire later game lineup for just scrolling youtube. I think it's absolutely fine to post a video like this -- after all, some people see the breakdowns as the most entertaining parts of the games -- but please, Please, PLEASE do NOT ruin the enjoyment of new Ace Attorney fans in the unavoidable thumbnail of your video. You also keep replying to other comments saying that you're sorry for spoiling the games for them, but you're obviously not sorry because if you were, you would change the thumbnail to be much more spoiler-free; as someone who's pointed out all the contradictions and deduced the truth behind every case, it would be absurd to even imply that you didn't know that the thumbnail would spoil and dismay fresh, unsuspecting fans of the series who just wanted to interact with the Ace Attorney community on RUclips.
@@KrishMortyJunior I'm sorry for pressuring you so much, but this thumbnail simply cannot be allowed to remain, since the remasters of the Apollo Justice Trilogy and Edgeworth Investigations Collection are bound to bring many new aspiring attorneys to the franchise, and if they stumble across this thumbnail, their enjoyment of the series will be significantly reduced from what it could be if they weren't spoiled on 5 of the final culprits.
Yes when I just finished the first three games seeing this thumbnail was devastating for me (I kept having to gaslight myself that it wasn’t those people)😔 (this is not sarcasm)
(SPOILERS FOR SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPECIAL EPISODE) Nichody’s breakdown is absolutely amazing. It perfectly encapsulates what the special episode is. The over the top acting similar to other modern ace attorney breakdowns and the pictures flashing in the background like in older ace attorney breakdowns work wonderfully together and beautifully represent the idea of the case, that being a case with the characters and mechanics (or lack there of) of the first game with the graphics and enhancements of modern ace attorney.
Are you seriously telling me a lawyer raised an objection to himself in the Amber Heard case? I don’t know about the case so pardon me being uninformed about the topic!
@@KrishMortyJunior yes. he declared his own wtinesses's testimony to be heresay. legal professionals have noted that it's not technically unheard of, but he did it in a very weird place and worded it badly, which didn't help his reputation in the slightest.
i would like to thank whoever made the thumbnail for spoiling DGS for me and i would also like to thank youtube for recommending this video to me so many times just to ensure that i couldn't forget the spoiler
@@KrishMortyJunior i mean that's fair enough. stronghart is a bit of an obvious villain and i did accidentally spoil myself on a few twists but this was still a bit annoying. i don't hate you for this or anything (as you said, it's fair game), but i'm just mad at the algorithm for recommending this an ungodly amount of times.

can you PLEASE change the thumbnail? i FINALLY found a ace attorney game i wasnt spoiled for and well, now i know who it was and THATS the biggest mystery, maybe something with the main characters insead?
I know a bit of the lore with the pheonix games, but not apollo's... What is going on? Is it a sequel? An alternate universe? The past? What is it? Can someone explain it to me?
essentially, he's a lawyer who was inspired by Phoenix. the story takes.. a number of turns, but in many ways is about him meeting his hero and how their paths cross.
53:07 Oh, and Phoenix just riffs Monty Python now? Well played, localizers, well played. Edit: Also, I know it's been said before... But RDJ would make a great Roger Retinz, either him or Johnny Depp.
I think it's because Stronghart's breakdown took what was good about Gant's and added its own flair to it that most generally like better, including myself. It feels fitting for a villain of a duology finally coming to justice to be so guilty that he breaks the scales. He nearly burned down the courtroom, as he did the integrity of the judicial system. And the clap is still fun to watch.
@KrishMortyJunior I meant more seeing a child covered in blood saying that they're going to take their mom apart. I'm pretty sure that trial is the entire reason this game is rated M.
Oh yeah that part is also very traumatic and yeah is probably why the game's age rating went up but I don't know how far the ESRB gets into a game before age rating it (I'm mentioning this because the scene you're referring too is in the last case) a popular theory the game is rated M for Mature is because of the bombing in case one which the ESRB definitely would've seen since it was the first case. The reason the bombing plot might've potentially been the reason of the game's increased age rating is because it's similar to a real life bombing that was pretty well known at the time it's just a theory though and I think the final case might be the actual reason of the game's increased age rating if thr ESRB got far enough to see those parts.
Can you change the thumbnail? It's pretty spoilery. Would hurt the experience of newcomers who just happens to see this video in their RUclips feeds. Perhaps change it to Sahwit's breakdown in 1-1 since he's the first culprit and is shown in the opening. That or any other non-spoilery snippit.

For all intents and purposes, he was the true final boss of the Ace Attorney trilogy.
Honestly the Ace Attorney villains peaked with Von Karma!
Nah, I think TGAA final boss was more satisfying to catch, cuz it was more grand
Agreed! He was easily the most challenging threat in the series!
Justice For All had sympathetic villains in case 2 and 3!
Anyone else think that Paul Atishon's breakdown feels like something straight out of Tomodachi Life?
Thanks! I’m happy that I’m not the only one who thought that!
Tomodachi Life???
Yup!
Edgeworth is so cold in the investigation games

Dahlia’s last breakdown always gives me chills. No matter how many times I see or play it… Chills.

@@GyroMan5136 Ha Ha that would be a good and funny twist!

I hope the Ace Attorney games generally have continuity which means referencing the other characters!

Stronghart's breakdown is the most epic

23:08 The way Klavier, Apollo and Trucy look at the player...

2:12:04 - Personal time stamp. :)
That moment was so impactful!
1:44:53 Lance having the cuffs fly off then immediately back on is just hilarious to me.
AGREED!
I don’t think you should have Mael Strongharts breakdown in the thumbnail, front and center, as it’s kind of a huge spoiler to the entire TGAA series
What about all the other people in the thumbnail?
@@KrishMortyJuniorThey’re all major villains to each of the games series, and it kind of was a terrible idea. If you had to include the breakdowns maybe put breakdowns from all of the first cases instead of using major villains ESPECIALLY for people like stronghart and lady keera
But….But the views!
@@KrishMortyJunior Lol
The games are pretty old now, so it’s fair game at this point.
played the whole series already but gah damn dude change ur thumbnail it's just making your ratings worse
My views are going up and most comments are positive!
23:04 ah yes, the first time they broke the 4th wall
lol
From what I've seen of the series, whenever a culprit has all of their lies exposed, they'll give a "So you've seen through my nefarious plan!" speech. I wonder if the series will ever have a more realistic liar, one who continues to lie even past the bitter end. Like "I don't care what forensics says, that's not _my_ DNA!"
I don’t remember any culprit being in denial THAT much lol.
My favorite breakdowns:
22:59 Kristoph Gavin(Most spectacular in my opinion)
8:56 Phoenix Wright (Because he made me laugh hard)
15:43 Dalhia (Although forget what I said about Kristoph, this is better)
1:56:43 Simon Keyes (Best breakdown with real identity revealed (for example, Matt Engarde's first breakdown))
16:46 Godot (The only breakdown that made me cry)
My least favorites (my opinion here and spoilers):
1:49:02 Quercus Alba (Maybe I don't like this breakdown because of how boring it was to explain to him why Edgeward was right if he could have already arrested him when he lost his position)
2:20:27 flinch (The most ridiculous one here)
I also want to note the breakdown of Von Karma... from the anime because there is not that pounding against the wall, but just some kind of scream, which is just sad because of how they could have made this scene gorgeous.
THANK YOU FOR SHOWING SOME OF THE COOLEST BREAKDOWNS!
1:45:03 damn he really broke those cuffs
He broke the cuffs!
McGilded’s reminds me of the end of AJ with the “when the verdict was handed down, special witness Kristoph Gavin laughed. A laugh that echoed for hours. A laugh that was louder than any other ever heard in the courtroom.”
Yeah they do feel similar!
Your comment is very nice and constructive.
@@KrishMortyJunior Is it constructive enough to make you change the thumbnail?
Hehe maybe…
Not sure if its just me but Stronghart's breakdown really reminds me of Gant's breakdown from "Rise From The Ashes"
Same! It’s probably the clapping!
They're shown as contrast to each other in art, and they play a similar role so it makes sense.
Yup!
(SPOILERS FOR SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPECIAL EPISODE)
Nichody’s breakdown is absolutely amazing.
Thanks for the analysis!

@@KrishMortyJunior yes. he declared his own wtinesses's testimony to be heresay. legal professionals have noted that it's not technically unheard of, but he did it in a very weird place and worded it badly, which didn't help his reputation in the slightest.

i love how damon gant just tweaks the fuck out
No entiendo como nadie menciona lo bueno que es el breakdown de Damon Gant
¡El desglose de Damon Gant es genial!

Athena's is still traumatic for me.
That's understandable it's a very traumatic and realistic depiction of someone having an emotional breakdown.
2:12:02 This is definitely normal..
lol
Can you change the thumbnail? It's pretty spoilery. Would hurt the experience of newcomers who just happens to see this video in their RUclips feeds.
Perhaps change it to Sahwit's breakdown in 1-1 since he's the first culprit and is shown in the opening. That or any other non-spoilery snippit.
