2) no, it is far more important than an election. And normally I would agree with you. In general, i don't like referendums because they are inevitably flooded with money trying to sway it one way or another, like the russians pushing Pro-Brexit messages to help weaken Europe. But in this case, they had their referendum as prosperous members of the EU. Shortly after their referendum, the Torries rammed brexit down their throat and dragged them out of the EU against their will. Everyone warned the Brexiteers that Brexit risked the Union. They didn't listen. Brexit changed alot of things. Alot of peoples minds changes on alot of issues. They deserve another chance to have a say post Brexit.

The large majority of Scotland wanted something. England wanted something different, so they are forced to do what england wants. That is exactly why they want another referendum.
