There are so many more topics related to this explosion that I wanted to speak about but I would’ve never managed to fit everything in just one video. In the next video(s) I want to focus on the following topics: how to protest effectively, how to gradually change the system, what’s the real problem(s) with the political class, the ideological revolution that we're missing, what it is like to be Lebanese, the concept of nationalism and what we can do individually to change things. These videos are jam-packed with research and information, so they take a lot of time. I’m trying my absolute best to be consistent. If you want to support my work, subscribing is an amazing first step
Because I live all the way in North America and I’m a kid I really like new angles if I find I repost to my channel when I found them all I want to make a playlist with all angles in order
I support The Lebanon due to it's partnership with PAl estIne over the years, and the unfair and often massacured lives due to corrupt goverments. Writing this just over one year after this incident, and I'm still as in shock as I was then, more that their government knew what lay there in their port and did absolutely nothing about it, they knew what horrific explosion would happen one day, and last year it did 😔.
I'm American. I visited Lebanon in 2000. I was genuinely awestruck with how friendly and kind everyone was. I visited Baalbek, Tripoli, the cedars, the caves, many monasteries including Hamatoura, Byblos, Balamand university. In a very small village I had coffee with the poorest family in town, and attended the wake and funeral of the mayor. God bless the people of Lebanon. I would like to come back.
It was once the Paris of The East. My Uncle visited Beirut in early 70's . He loved it. He said you all must visit this beautiful place. When we grew up and could travel the civil war broke out.
When it happened i was in akkar north Lebanon we tried to donate blood but we couldn’t cuz all Red Cross Lebanon members were in Beirut, next day we raised a very good amount of money with friends and we filled an entire bus with food and water 140 10L gallons)and bread ( 650 bags)and sent them to Beirut. We followed the bus to Beirut to make sure everything was delivered to the people in need. We slept in Beirut at a friend’s house and the next morning we went to saint Georges hospital in Achrafiye where we helped cleaning 5 rooms to be ready for emergency cases, and by the end of the day we went back to akkar. Me ( elie hanna) and my aunt ( chimène Fahmy) and our friends (jack hazzoury) , ( lara elias), and ( Nadine hamad) did all of this and tried to do more to help our people. 💪🇱🇧🇱🇧🇱🇧
I salute your professionalism, you did not capitalise on our trauma or the footage of right after and people suffering, you just put the right amount of that footage, you capitalised on the aftermath cleaning. Thank you for this magnificent piece of work.❤
Thank you, I tried my best! I didn't dare to film the injured people by respect and to interview more people with sad stories. It's a pretty sensitive topic and I also preferred to focus on the positive side of stuff and what we need to change in the future! This type of disaster can't happened anymore!
@@RobertoHelou your approach was perfect, just enough harsh footage to portray the significance of what happened but not too much to be disrespectful. I wish you the best and thank you for raising our voices.
Made me cry, first for the horror of the aftermath and then later for the beauty of the people who live in Beirut. Please continue to document Beirut's story.
me and my famliy went on vaciton to Lebanon, about roughly 16 km from beirut port, and we could easily feel and hear the massive blast. devistating. :( I pray for everyone there in Lebanon
came back to watch this again months later, I must say your content is incredibly well made and extremely underrated. I can't wait for your channel to explode in popularity hopefully sometime soon because you definitely deserve it
I love Beirut and the spirit of all who live there which you captured so well. Bless you for doing this and all your hard work. I will share this everywhere ❤
I was at home when it happened and my house is 2 KMs away from the port thank God nothing happened to us but our glass was destroyed and the aluminium of the house caved in but we were still very lucky and I am thankful every day
thank you so much for spreading awareness and for documenting everything!! people need to see what happened to us! it's a huge trauma and we will never ever forget this day.
Thank you for being you Roberto. One can only hope that recovery is forthcoming, vibrant, and fulfilling after such a tragedy for your people and country. Heartwarming hugs from USA. Keep on fighting for truth and accountability of your politicians. They are all corrupt and are only in it to line their pockets. All politicians!
Roberto, you have such a pure heart and a unique way of storytelling. Thank you for sharing the story through your lens and eyes. Very well done brother!
Great work Bro! Forget the Government and their divisiveness.... The explosion proved the People can work and organise together. The new generation can become a new Saviour Government. God Bless Lebanon and their honest people and punish it's worst.
I'm so sorry Lebanon had to suffer. No country, no human deserves it. The government must be held accountable and must be prosecuted. Love from India 🇮🇳❤️
Your work is really inspiring! So glad that there are wonderful people like you sharing the truth that remains hidden - the pain of the people, the turmoil, the heartbreak. Praying that we will all see better days. May your voice and message continue to spark change.

Excellent job on the video; I cant praise you enough for covering what happened there the way you are doing, as well as the ongoing struggles of the people of Beirut and of Lebanon... keep up the good work and I hope your efforts to document everything in this video helps to launch your career... careful not to put yourself in danger though lol; the world needs more humanitarian people like yourself doing the kind of work you are doing
I just realised that few people showed what the people did ... clean the streets , help each other . This is the lebanon i know and that I Love . As long as these people exist ... there is HOPE
How horrific and heartbreaking! Has the government lifted a finger to help its people (as of August, 2023)? Thank goodness for the kindness of strangers! Excellent video! And an excellent way to end the video!! Well done!
This felt like a professionally made hour long documentary, not a RUclips video. Thank you so so much for making this for change, not for views. Awareness is how change becomes reality 👏❤️
This is high quality content. Thank you for sharing this Rob. I admire you and the people from your country, this video is a good lesson about true team work, support and willpower to improve today’s world.

You couldn’t have said it any better, you’re a true hero. I’ve seen how much dedication & hard work you’ve put into this over the past month, and i honestly can’t thank you enough ♥️
I was 2 km from the blast. I have a big view of most of beirut. And every morning, I look at the port. Remembering the traumatic event many of us have suffered
Thank you for this absolutely amazing video, the horror of the explosion, the hope and solidarity of the Lebanese, this disgusting corrupt government. Hoping for a better Lebanon !
I have a theory: From what ive heard from another channel, basically it was just a normal day when an uncontrolled fire broke out in beirut port at one of the warehouses, The firefighters responded to it and it was “put out” until a firefighter said to the captain at the station that they have missed a spot, there was about 160-200 bags of fireworks in the warehouse which explained the sparks, when the fire ended it had possibly lit up all the fireworks and one firework headed to a fuel tank/boiler ( i think ) which on impact, caused a reaction to 1,500 tons of TNT to explode and devastate every thing so close to it and 1,200-3,489 meters away, whilst the outer zone was just glass broken, furniture knocked down and etc. and they said the shockwave/sound of the explosion was so loud it reached cyprus which is about 10 kilometres away. P.S The video or channel i watched after this was dark records. Pls gib 1 liek
What happened was just horrifying. The devastation is beyond tragic, the governments lack of support, unforgivable and truly disgusting but the fortitude and strength of the amazing Lebanese people, in their biggest time of pain and need is truly inspiration, the rest of the world could learn many things from all of you. Bless you for risking your own safety to share the magnitude of this disaster and the truth with the rest of the word. What an amazing soul you are!!! I pray that the situation improves in your country and those guilty are brought to justice. Bless you for all you do!!!
What is so heartbreaking is seeing Beirut demolished but what is is even more saddening is delving into beirut’s shattered homes and listening to the stories of poor people being the victims of a life they never chose to live. These people already had an arduous life before the explosion but after the explosion they saw their shelters shattered and their loved ones, that were their only incentive to smile every day, dead. in a split second everything they owned was gone and they are left there to navigate through their agony. However these people still manage to get up to fight their ghostly emotions they manage to smile at others and even give advice. God we are so small and frail. after listening to these types of stories i feel so stupid for complaining about silly things. I am constantly inspired by Lebanese people, their patience inspires me their resilience inspires me. even their pursuit to be united and the urge to give in the most unexpected situations fascinates me. They managed to find strength in their own selfs and didn’t wait for the dead government to wake up. Lebanese people you are so invincible and your loyalty never fades away that is why I am sure Beirut will rise from under the rubble. But that won’t be enough we have to remove the source of the sorrow and we have to stop supporting these ghostly characters that have been sucking the life out of this country for decades now only then we will retrieve all the lost potential. Please Lebanese people let us not give up, lets fight because we deserve better.
