Hi Eileen, sorry for the late reply, I just found your comment. Thank you very much. I hope you have plenty of Cymbidium spikes to enjoy, too... Have a wonderful day... :-)
@@ladygreenthumb1472 my cymbidium has never blossomed. But watching you I think I will follow what you do and I am sure I will have luck. I got it at a grocery store for 2$ on mark down table about 8 years ago !!! Love your channel.
Hi lady green thumb, I'm pinay as well, residing in Australia. Woww I'm so envy how your orchids are growing so healthy, I'm just new sa collection ng orchids. Nice video, informative. Thanks.
I'm so impress with your video. I have killed so many cymbidiums it's not a good situation. You give me hope, I guess I was trying to hard. You just leave them alone. I will try one more time and see what happens. Thank you for posting video.
Hi Jenny, you're welcome... I hope you have a success Cymbidium story next time. They are very low maintenance orchids for me. The only thing I don't like is repotting them because they are humongous, lol! Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day...
Hi Zaleha, thank you very much. I love them so much because they are the easiest orchids for me to grow. Hope yours bloom soon... Thanks for watching and Happy Sunday... :-)
@@ladygreenthumb1472 Good Morrning from my Country. I wanted to share some of my Orchids but unfortunately i can't share here. My Species Orchid now is produces lflowers and the smell is lovely. . Good night to you!!
Thank you Zaleha... Congrats on your new orchid blooms. Hopefully you can upload a video of it on your channel, so the orchid community can see it, too... :-)
Thank you very much, tess. Enjoy them and I'm sure that your collection will grow and grow that you wouldn't know what to do with them, lol! Thanks for watching and happy growing... :-)
Hi Cheryl, thanks, but these creatures are incorrigible. The orchid pots are already on a higher ground but still they get damaged by them. Thanks for watching. 😀
Hi Maria, it's hard to diagnose a plant sickness without seeing it in person. It could be a virus and some viruses are incurable. Cymbidiums like moisture, check if the medium is dry and water them regularly (not soaking wet). If the medium's old repot it and make sure you disenfect the cutting tools you use on them. Separate this infected plant from the rest of your collection until you see brand new beautiful leaves coming out. I hope this helps you. Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day... :-)
Great video! Do you think the prove of squeezing them is also true? I´ve read that the new growths are "empty" inside and the blooms not. My new Cymbi has about four but if that rule is true only one may be a spike. By the way, in the last spring the new growths were clearly ALL green and these four ones now (it´s winter here) are red... Do you know why that happens? Many greetings!
Hi Raul, I never tried squeezing them, I can just tell which one's a new growth and which one's the flower spikes. The new growth's flatter in the base and the spike's round in the base. I have a Cymbidium that will change colors like yours too. I think it's the variety of Cymbidium that has something to do with the color of the flowers and also when it's happy that it got the right sun exposure. I don't know what the experts opinion but I experienced it with my Cymbidiums and I don't worry about it because they gave me large and longer spikes... Thank you very much watching and have a wonderful day / night... :-)
You're welcome, beebee. I use Osmocote slow release fertilizer and water them once every 2 weeks during winter. Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day / night... :-)
Hi Joanne, unfortunately I do not have a Cymbidium repotting video because they are so massive and it's difficult for me to juggle the camera and wrestle with the tight pot, it gets messy and takes a long time for me. Sometimes I just cut the pots, lol! I use the Better Gro Orchid Potting Mix from Lowe's and Home Depot for my Cymbidiums and other orchids, too... Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day... :-)
Hi Jenny, I will bring them in when there's a frost forecasted in my area. When I have no space yet, I'll just cover them with row covers or old blankets. Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day / night... :-)
Hi Rosemarie, I use Osmocote slow release fertilizer on them every 3 to 6 months, and occasional 20-20-20 water soluble balance fertilizer. Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day / night... :-)
@@ladygreenthumb1472 Hi! Does this mean that a two or three-year-old pseudobulb won't bloom? I know a pseudobulb never blooms twice. I am asking for a two or three year old pseudobulb that never bloomed.
Hi M Maci, as I understand it, pseudobulbs that never bloom will eventually bloom, if not they will just produce a new pseudobulb that will bloom for you in the same environment that it is used to. Don't move them around, leave them where they are and be patient. Normally if they are happy, they bloom right away.
