hello. can this manifold be drained from the bottom? I am considering installing this in my cottage basement but want to have the ability for the water supply lines (hot & cold) from above to gravity drain out the bottom of the manifold when I leave in the winter. During the winter season, our manifold cracked and start leaking. I like the product, but I'm curious if I should use stainless or copper for my replacement instead of plastic manifold.

Please explain how to replace the turn valve on the Older system with the black diamond with color cap? Can i replace the old one that has the black diamond with the newer Viega valve that has the actual diamond shape raised piece (that is on this system you show-here) with the hard plastic red or blue diamond that the larger red key fits onto? My system uses a black key that broke and I cannot find a replacement for anywhere. Hence the failure in the first place being forced to use pliers.
The difference I see with my novice eyes is that there appears to be a color coded cover piece over the black diamond that the newer system valve doesn’t need since the whole front is solid & color coded. It doesn’t pop out from the back as easily as it should or as shown on the videos for this system. Does the color coded cap need to be removed separately before pushing the valve out from the back? Will the valve from this Viega system fit my older vanguard system? I know the red key for this system is too large for mine with the smaller black diamond and black key. Please help?

I was told that PEX-A (Uponor) is Viega Manabloc's competition, so they won't make it easy to use the manabloc for PEX-A. Amazon sells adaptors with NPT on one side, and PEX-A on the other. Assuming the ports on the side are regular pipe threads, that is.
