I use to be a docent at the lighthouse a few years ago. Did it for a few years. Back then we were open Sat-Mon. It's open for visitors because of volunteers.
The Point Bonita lighthouse is in the Marin Headlands not Sausalito. Both are located in Marin County but Sausalito is a small town on the eastern side of Marin and the Point Bonita Lighthouse is on the southwestern end of Marin. Get it right!... before you send countless numbers of tourist into the town of Sausalito looking for a lighthouse that’s on the other side of the county!!
