Eddie was the GOAT. He made his own guitar and was self taught after learning to play the piano as a child. He came onto the music scene in the late 70's and no one had ever seen anyone play as fast or do the things that Eddie did. He didn't learn how to play the guitar, the guitar had to learn Eddie and every time that he played he left the guitar smoking, and looked like a horse that had been ridden for 3 days straight!! He was named "the GUITAR !!" by Guitar Magazine. He was the only person that they have ever given that name to. You need to watch some of their early music videos and their later ones with Sammy Hagar especially the song "Poundcake" when he uses an electric drill to play his guitar!!!!

A small portion of this started out to be a warm op exercise for him, playing gigs at clubs & backyard parties. While making their first record they decided to put it as a track to lead into another song. It was done all in one take. From 1978-2015 Eddie would either add parts or take away.He was always experimenting with new sounds & effects to get out of his guitar,He incorporated those too.Never played it the same night after night. Most rock guitarists copied his two hand tapping during the 80's.Some may do it still.Eddie played on Michael Jackson;s "Beat It" for no pay Sadly he did pass away in 2020
