The rain was crazy at PBIBS this year! I’m glad you were able to press on despite the weather. Also, it was great bumping into you at the show! Great tour as always, Nick
Two simple ideas that make a big difference, the outside door to the day heads and the door stays. I loved so much about this boat, the windows in the captain's cabin are enormous!
I've worked in a few places with this type of door stays, they're actually remarkably simple (and thus reliable) - the thing holding the door open, is simply a strong magnet at the end of the travel in the "soft close system", the power is matched to the weight of the door, allowing it to hold the door, and yet release it with a mild tug :)
love the CDMs. the darwin is my dream machine. what a vessel. . late april to august in FL you can count on a brief afternoon shower many many days somewhere between 1300 and 1500. lasts 15 minutes up to 2 hours. then the sun comes back. a nice pattern to get a break from blistering heat and of course who doesnt like 85 percent humidity!
That's a beautiful boat or should I say ship. As you noted, the quality of the fixtures and fittings is probably the best I've ever seen. Thank you for a great tour and I hope you didn't get too wet.
Love when things are done differently. I'd love to see yachts with interiors and exteriors that have not been seen before. Whether to good taste or not 😅.
Though we all (especially the videographer) would like the sunshine for the tour, I thought it gave us viewers a perspective on what happens if you are on charter when it rains! (I am trying to make lemonade out of lemons!). Thanks for bringing us this tour which was great. Beautiful yacht!
Nice ship . Thanks for braving the weather .. Love the amount of room in the engine space and its range . Awesome . Like alot of tri decks . Nothing realy ground breaking or thinking out side the box other than how the salon was set up . . At least no queues in that rain well done . . Till next time Bye from NZ 🍻🇳🇿👍twa
Oh my goodness, once again you have found what I consider a "therapy yacht" ! The light color wood work and color scheme is so uplifting ! Want proof, it's raining where you are yet you are happy to be there !! I even like the bridge area that you can actually see out instead of relying on instruments !! One very small thing. When you first entered the saloon/salon at first glance I thought it was the owners suite ? So might rearrange that furniture ? Oh heck, picky me !! Thank you Nick, safe travels !!
Very nice. But, if I were the Captain, I would not be thrilled about my cabin. I really liked the cockpit configuration. It seems they knew what people really want. Good job, Nick
That's a very nice yacht. I really appreciate how you explain the engine power and speed. Not sure I'd be taking her trans-Atlantic though - even at just over 100 feet she's still pretty small for that and any decent storm will toss her about. Perhaps a nice tour of the Gulf of Mexico, or the entire Mississippi, or just stay in the Mediterranean. Ah, one can dream. Thanks for the tour!
Beautiful. I couldn’t help thinking about taking a bath in that huge tub while in a choppy sea. It would add a new dimension to the song, “Splish Splash I Was Taking a Bath.” Well, you have to be in a particular age group to understand that. 😊
I think that’s the first tour I’ve seen you do where it is actually significantly raining. The garage area was really spacious while still being well kitted out. Same with the engine room, really surprising. Really good review Nick. One suggestion for when you can’t show crew areas is to do a quick shot of the deck plan which was adjacent to the crew mess.
How dare Mother Nature rain on Nick's parade. The ship seems wells set-up for cruising, and pottering about the islands in the sunshine. Thank you for braving the damp.
Hi Nick hope your well, I guess the whole east coast is raining today its raining here in Montreal as well, beautiful vessel but I would like to mention that you had already done a walkthrough of this vessel mahy months ago and a few of your colleagues as well, but never the less it was nice to see you Nick have a great day
A beautiful yacht inside and out, really nice finishes I usually like dark wood but this looked nice. A nice layout too and spacious through out, like the enormous engineering spaces and the crew look well cared for. Great tour Nick thank you.
Liquid sunshine- a lovely phrase. I don’t think I’ve seen a tour of a multimillion pound boat when it’s tipping down. Often thought what it would be like…
Can you come to the west coast of Florida? We need the rain! Beautiful boat! Thanks for your dedication showing it. Even in the rain it's a stunning boat!
For that big of a boat , the galley is another , oh no , we forgot something , let's put the galley in this little space and say how marvelous it is ! No one will notice !
Thanks Nick wow. Just a thought how about a pre-video 'competition' for fun guess the top speed, displacement/crusing speed and total range? Answers on a poscard obviously :)
Nice little ship, from the outside. Let down I feel by the interior decor. It looks like an ikea showroom. I wonder what the interior of the old classic style yacht moored along the starboard side is like for contrast.
Did you bring your UK 🌧 with you on this trip? Hope that you got some ☀ whilst there at some point! Really like this vessel a lot. Well set up and very thought out. Many thanks for you (getting wet) doing this! 🍷 🤗
I sail a smallish French mass-produced yacht. If I had a big lottery win, this is the kind of motor yacht that I would have. Oh hum, back to the creaky floors and Ikea fittings. 😂
The best thing about this yacht was the lovely young lady sales rep. She stayed engaged during her time on cameral without being at all obtrusive. Well...I have never been a fan of 'The Beach Club Vibe.'
The positive side of doing a tour in the rain is that there's no crowd to make you wait! A great tour considering the circumstances. Any chance you were able to get a tour of _Triumph_ seen at 16:49?
Another great yacht. I also like that the crew area is quite generous in size. Just one question from something that I noticed on this tour. How do you get up into those Pullman berths when they need to be used? I'm not seeing a ladder or steps or anything to get into it. Or maybe I just missed it?
Was being awed by this boat , the quality , doors so solid . Then got to the galley , 'L ' shaped :-) 30 meals a day , just for the guests /owner . Where does the crew food get cooked ? walking space is ideal at 1.5 m , crew can pass each with ease . Fridge / freezer you need , as do you prep space . Maybe am missing something , just underwhelmed by the ' galley ' after the rest of the boat , seems like an add on , a space filler . On land it is called a kitchen , the heart of the home . where sustainance originates from . Here seems relegated to the 'crew ' area , as nice as the captains cabin was . I live in a modest home , live alone . my kitchen has a bigger footprint than a E18 m superyacht :-) Where 8 or more are not crowded :-) while I am chuffed , must feel for the crew .
There are two cdm rj 115 models. Stellamar and pazienza both are designed n curated by Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini. Stellamar's interior feels warm modern. Pazienza's interior feels sleek n sexy like his other tankoa projects. Rare to find 115ft 35metri yacht built with steel hull aluminium superstructure. Normally for this size u would find grp built yachts. 45 000 litres fuel tanks allow for range of around 5500nm at an economic speed of 9 knots. 18m euro price is good too. This is great yacht in terms of price per quality ratio probably one of the best yacht in its class Better than azimut's grp grande 32 36 metri or ferretti's grp custom line 120. If I were specifying the owners cabin I couldn't put up with that poxy little desk which is only any good for a laptop. I would sacrifice the wardrobe behind for a multi-monitor set-up.
The boat design, staterooms, crew quarters, bridge, outside spaces all looked terrific. The fittings and fixtures all looked super high quality. On the negative side - the galley was strange. Not only a “galley style” work area but also doubling as the hallway to the crew quarters. Busy area. The ovens appeared small and located near ground level. I am sure a chef would prefer wall ovens for easier viewing and loading/unloading. Basically the galley seemed small and poorly designed to me. The main salon was totally uninviting. What a strange use of space with small easy chairs and an odd couch. Nothing looked comfortable. The dining area seemed cramped. I imagine waiting staff trying to moved around a table full of people. It would not be easy. Another oddity compare to most yachts you show us - there was no interior bar area. None in the salon, or the sky lounge. There were outdoor bars, but on a rainy evening making your drink outside might be a bit discouraging. (I don’t drink, but it still seemed odd to me). The other thing I found uninviting was the owners suite. It had everything you need and more, but seemed so sterile that it appeared uninviting and cold. Apologies for my strange reaction to this yacht. I know any owner could have it made the way they want. There just seemed to be a few lost interior opportunities on an otherwise gorgeous craft. As always, thanks for starting my Sunday morning with a trip down fantasy lane.
Love the boat, but I feel like the finishes on it remind me too much of a "beach house on the coast with cheap stickers of starfish in the bathroom" type vibe.
An absolute pleasure to have you onboard Nick! Shame about the weather but you still managed to capture her elegance even in the rain 👏😅
Thank you very much indeed! 🙂
I actually like the tour in the rain, gives it almost a more realistic/attainable feel for some reason. ☔👍
Right: we're on the water so how can we complain about the water?
Yeah, it isn't always sunny.
