  • I'm an amateur replacing the window switch for my 2012 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid after having watched a few other RUclips videos. I'm covering parts of the process that I haven't seen covered by anyone else. I hope it's helpful.

Dude, your video was awesome! Just completed the same project for my 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS. Took out a few more screws on the backside of the panel, but was pretty flawless! Thanks for the tutorial, from Houston, Texas!

Very informative and easy to follow.
In my case on my 2013 Sonata, those annoying clips were already broken, causing my master switch to fall into my door panel.
The master switch still works though.
I’m glad you showed how to remove the arm rest/switch panel from the rest of the door panel.
I may have to go to a salvage yard to buy a replacement switch panel just for the idiotic broken clips.

@@ok89irish I bought a replacement switch panel for only $10 from a pick-n-pull yard today. I was expecting to pull off a door panel from another sonata.
The first Sonata already had its door panel stripped of its switches and corresponding panel.
The second one was missing its driver-side door panel. However, lo and behold, the driver-side switch panel was lying right in plain sight in the driver’s seat!
It was very simple for me to take off door panel, and the entire armrest assembly off of that. I was golden after 20-30 minutes. My master and mirror switches still work a treat.
I feel great about this repair and very inexpensive to boot. :)
Thank you so much for this video.

Thank you so much for this video. It’s so satisfying to watch something disassemble and reassembled. I’m going to be replacing mine too and appreciate the detailed instructions!!

Gotta take a moment and say thank you for making this video, just replaced mine using your tips. Typical small struggles here and there but just went slow with it, probably took me 45 minutes start to finish. Getting the old switch disconnected from those plastic tabs was the most difficult, I was afraid to snap them. Ended up grabbing some paper clips and as I loosened one I would shove a paper clip in there and move to the next, they kept it from accidentally snapping back together as I moved along.

Thanks for the video. Im almost ready to try it myself. I have the same issue and pucked up the switch and cover from a junkyard.

Good luck Lou! It's a bit of work, but very do-able. And as @shahbazkhan-lz9xs pointed out, I am an "unskilled person" 😆 So if someone like I can do it, I have faith in you. 😁
