@@joselosuck I spent maybe 5 minutes perfecting the rope jump and now can hit it almost all the time with the analog. The key is to not be scared of falling off, if you feel yourself slipping, jump for a plank, then jump back on again. My plat run on high road is 56.90 after maybe 10 minutes trying.
@@aegiltech I did by analysing where the shadow was on the rope and made sure it was mostly covered on the side I wanted to jump on, got the jump every time.
The High Road is the only time trial I have left. I've been running it all day (literally just over three and a half hours today alone) and can't get any better than 1:17. Finally decided to take a break, and guess what I find in my sub box... Edit: Finally got it! Looking forward to never playing that level again. Good luck to you all.
watch my video, i use the rope once, i believe. There are a couple of super long air jumps you can make. The hardest jumps are the initial turtles and the stupid boars pressuring you.
It took me six hours two days in a row, and then I beat it on my second try the third day. It will just happen. Remember to take breaks so things don't end up broken.
Clocked 56 seconds perfect run, I must be god of gods then. Using the rope is way tough if we compare . As it requires accurate & Precise movement of analog stick
GTD: GAMING TILL DEATH So does not using the ropes as you can't spare a second with it. The rope can be hard, but once skilled, you can move across it, without having to do stops like with planks and turtles.
TyTyger 626 if you jump on the ropes and get in the right spot then all you do is use the d-pad and crash will walk straight without falling off then just jump from bridge to bridge. It's really easy but if you use the analog stick then it's hard
Omg. After 2 hours of complete hopelessness. Because of your video... I just beat the level. I feel a sense of euphoria I have never felt. Colours seem brighter. Sounds are crisper. I can jump higher and passers by look at me with a knowing smile. They know. They know that I have suffered hardship but come out the other side. A survivor... But I missed 13 boxes.
I’m crying ... I finally got it after hours of torture and pulling my hair and punching my sofa like a punching bag I finally got it .. and it’s thanks to this video . This fckin level require skills and versatility and ALOT of PATIENCE . Practice makes perfeft. Had to listen to We are the champions by queen when i finally got the platinum .
Pro tip: use the d-pad instead of the analog on this level and stay close to the rope before you jump on it, that makes it way easier to control the landing since you just have to tap the left or right d-pad a little to land on the rope.
Thank goodness for this guide. The hardest bit for me was getting on and off the rope consistently, thanks to this guide I only had to spend 45 minutes, props to you, Brian
What makes this relic so infuriating is the fact that Crash 1's levels simply were not designed to be rushed through. It's a very timing and precision focused game, which makes trying to be fast a nightmare.
I did it! after trying for a total of 6+ hours over the course of several days I managed to do it and get the Platinum trophy for this game. Here's my advice: If you already have the gold in every other level you can do this. The initial turtles are the most difficult part. If you can get past the turtle that floats in the air after the boards break, you can finish this level. Find a way that works for you to consistently jump on the ropes but don't rely on it. Whether or not the game allows the player to land on the ropes is somewhat inconsistent, so it helps a lot to find a very consistent method of jumping to the ropes. If you play for hours everything will start to look the same and you will make silly mistakes. When that happens take a break. If you don't you might develop bad habits. Thanks for the video, it helped a lot.
I just use the rope The trick is to turn off your brain (knowing you're gonna die this time so don't get mad) Until your muscle memory becomes instinct and you just do it.

man the ropes trimmed so much time for me, 5 hours or trail and error and secured the gold relic. Never played the original games so to have the gem and relic on this is satisfying now. Platinum is beyond me so great video.
I only have 17 platinums so far but this was by far the funnest plat to get thus far, so challenging but there's that warm gooey feeling u get when u complete something difficult, great tut

I remember doing this the first time in the remaster I died about 40 times it drived me insane but when I did the time trial it overall took me about an hour to perfect and I got the platinum even though I was only going after gold but I was so happy, good luck to anyone else who hasn't got it and is still trying

The thing that helped me get gold on this was the jumping last minute on the jumps u did without using turtles. That and just hopping on rope if needed. Dodging the hogs was the worst for me and landing on the right panels after the hogs. Thank u again!
I couldn't bare to allow myself to cheat a trial. On The Lab, I did though. I could only get it by jumping on a computer to the left of the screen, which was part of the sides. Wanted to not touch any area like that. Similar to the dark levels that have sides you can jump on to skip gaps (which I didn't use--did use the Gem path for the one though). Makes me wonder if the dev. cheated with the ropes or did it legitly for the time.

My right thumb was hurting for the next two days after I finally got it. I'm glad I discovered that you just had to tap the jump button to get on the rope. The real difficulty is trying to get experience with the second half of the level. I died so many times between the first and second jumps that I would have long droughts of never seeing past 25 seconds. I hope the next crash bandicoot includes challenges like this one.

Finally got it after about 40 minutes. I know that's nothing compared to how hard it was for some people but it was still an enormous challenge. got a time of 1:04:46. Just 15 milliseconds shy of the platinum time goal. i mostly did rope jumps instead of the almost falling jumps and tested fate on those ropes.
i just want to say thanks for making this video. I've already beaten the level, took me all day yesterday, but this information would have definitely come in handy. I did the time trial without ropes because other videos didnt really explain how to jump accurately onto them, and so the level felt harder for me when trying that method. But i hope this video will help others out there. If you have tips on other obnoxiously hard levels, i'd love to see another guide like this. Just beat the game, now its time to go back for those trials!
Finally for this, got Gold... but that'll do for me. Took about 4-5 hours of practice and runs to get it. Died twice on that last gap before end as well. Amazing video guide as usual Brian
Thanks for the help! I ended up doing more rope jumps. They were easier for me than some of the long jumps. Using this guide, it took me about 55 minutes of continuous attempts to get 1:05. I know that’s not perfect, but it’s Gold and that’s all I need. 👌

I just got the gold relic. Some of my strat was from this vid, some was on my own. Here's some things that may help you guys - - for God's sake, mute the audio - do what works for you, as long as it generally keeps you on track with time - I did this starting off legit, then rope walking around the middle where I just couldn't do it legit, around where the hogs arrive, and then ending legit with the turtle jumps. -There is also one turtle that looks like you can't make it at the start of the first row of overturned ones, but you can.
After 2 hours last night i gave up, this morning did 3 more hours and ive finally done it! 1:03:92, not the best but at least platinum! This helped me out so much thankyou!
Alternate method: With enough practice, you CAN just run along practically the entire rope. Took me 2 hours, but I managed to get the platinum relic without a guide.
Lewis Wood I've been trying to do this method for ages now- sometimes I can jump onto and run an entire part of the rope with problem at all, other times I just miss completely.

It was THIS level that prevented me from getting my platinum, I had all but this relic. I must have spent 4 hours practicing this legitly but never able to do better than sapphire... until I started cheesing the ropes. Believe it or not you CAN get a gold relic (maybe plat if you're perfect) if can not only jump on the ropes on the first go, but stay on as you run full speed. I used it on the turtle parts and it got me my platinum trophy. :)
Omg….I’ve never been so frustrated at a video game in my entire life. This took me HOURS!! This relic is the last thing I need before 100%. Guys if you suck at the rope jump like me don't even bother practicing. I just did it regularly (gold) without the rope. It took me all day but it's possible just try doing in parts until you master the beggining. It gets easier in the last part. Good luck to you all!

Took me about an hour to get gold and that will do me nicely. I just don’t have the mental capacity to press on for platinum I am not strong enough. This video really helped!
The ropes are too difficult to get right every time. As soon as you start wait till crash bobs 7 times then run through it as normal the turtles will all be correctly positioned. That's how I got the platinum relic.
I totally just got the gold relic after spending quite a lot of time studying this video and practising jumping on the rope and then immediately off, because that was pretty difficult for me, at first. I posted my run on my channel and definitely would add it as a video response to this video, if that still was something you could do on youtube. Anyway, I totally have to thank you for this great video, which really helped my nail down the best way to do this. Thank you so, so much!

I just tried to get gold for 3 hours, my opinion is that you have to be lucky. A tip from me is to only use the ropes when avoid the gaps that you have to jump from the turtles. I am so fucking happy with my time 1:11:50 screw this level

took me about 40 mins to get this. didn't think it was as tough as it was hyped up to be. thought fumbling in the dark and generator room were tougher.
You can actually save about another second on the time box section with the spring box. If you're close enough to it, and spin as you ascend from your jump, you can actually get above the falling crate before it bounces

You can save another fraction of a second at the bouncing metal box by spinning as you jump up instead of as you fall; you will land on the metal box before it bounces and sail right over.
I would like to thank you for this video it actually helped me a lot especially with the rope jump. Cant get the platinum but gold was more than enough for me for the achievment :). Took me like 2 hours roughly to make it.
If you suck at jumping on the rope or just hate doing it, you can actually avoid the "third" rope jump he mentions at 4:30 and just jump straight to the turtle. The bounce hit box is quite a bit larger than the graphics suggest.

When you jump on the rope you need to use the D-pad to walk, it's 90% of success

Alternate method: With enough practice, you CAN just run along practically the entire rope. Took me 2 hours, but I managed to get the platinum relic without a guide.

After many days of attempts, I have finally achieved the relic. Platinum no less. Thank you so much for the guide.
It was THIS level that prevented me from getting my platinum, I had all but this relic. I must have spent 4 hours practicing this legitly but never able to do better than sapphire... until I started cheesing the ropes. Believe it or not you CAN get a gold relic (maybe plat if you're perfect) if can not only jump on the ropes on the first go, but stay on as you run full speed. I used it on the turtle parts and it got me my platinum trophy. :)
I don't think I can finish this map without dying, let alone the platinum relic :D

That advice with only tapping jump slightly to get on them was helpful. It works almost everytime.

Guys if you suck at the rope jump like me don't even bother practicing. I just did it regularly (gold) without the rope. It took me all day but it's possible just try doing in parts until you master the beggining. It gets easier in the last part. Good luck to you all!

Success! Just got plat here with 1:02. Once you can carry yourself past the first segment with the turtles, it's not too bad.
Pro tip: wait a second after loading in then hit the options button, go down twice and click x. This will make life easier
Took me about an hour to get gold and that will do me nicely. I just don’t have the mental capacity to press on for platinum I am not strong enough. This video really helped!

The ropes are too difficult to get right every time. As soon as you start wait till crash bobs 7 times then run through it as normal the turtles will all be correctly positioned. That's how I got the platinum relic.

That's how I did it (counting the 7 sways) to get the right pattern. I tried walking the ropes before, but it was too unreliable for me.
Finally got this!!! Your video helped out a lot. I was originally to focused on staying on the ropes.
This just took me about 1 and a half hours. About 30min after watching this video. The rope jumps are key!

I totally just got the gold relic after spending quite a lot of time studying this video and practising jumping on the rope and then immediately off, because that was pretty difficult for me, at first. I just tried to get gold for 3 hours, my opinion is that you have to be lucky. A tip from me is to only use the ropes when avoid the gaps that you have to jump from the turtles. I am so fucking happy with my time 1:11:50 screw this level

took me about 40 mins to get this. didn't think it was as tough as it was hyped up to be. thought fumbling in the dark and generator room were tougher.

You can actually save about another second on the time box section with the spring box. If you're close enough to it, and spin as you ascend from your jump, you can actually get above the falling crate before it bounces

Got gold on this level which drove me bonkers, thank goodness it is done.
You can save another fraction of a second at the bouncing metal box by spinning as you jump up instead of as you fall; you will land on the metal box before it bounces and sail right over.

If you suck at jumping on the rope or just hate doing it, you can actually avoid the "third" rope jump he mentions at 4:30 and just jump straight to the turtle. The bounce hit box is quite a bit larger than the graphics suggest.
