Not saying Kwon didn't deserve it, but you gotta feel for Duckworth. The bloke has faced so many injury setbacks its honestly insane he still plays, good to see finally push through to an ATP Tour level final and hopefully one day he will win a title.
@@bloat1235 I'm 17 and 5'9 and have been playing since I was 4 years old but I've struggled with getting players to play tennis with wilth little tournament experience if I play every day, work out, play tournaments and have a good strict diet can I become a pro player at 21 - 22 years old and do I have a chance to get to the top 75 - 100 in the world 😁😎👍
@@kingadjust5422 Honestly mate idk, its going to be very hard and I have no idea how good you are. Maybe speak to some high level coaches, or see how you compare to your peers.
Yep this was satisfying for me, I've been following him since he reached the final of the Seoul Challenger in 2017! Even back then the variety in his game stood out.
Such a smart player! kwon soon woo’s got so many different types of shots under his belt. His ability to mix-up different shots at the right time and moment earned him this title (5:02) change of pace at his will. WHAT A JOURNEY
the people responding to the original comment are clueless and made false assumptions to what the guy said. he just said it's great for Kwon to go up against the best TO LEARN AND GAIN EXPERIENCE not necessarily to beat them. in order to be the best, you have to play the best! lmao to these poor folks with poor reading comprehension.😀
Kwon was impressive in this match with very good tactical abilities. His ability to change direction and adapt his game, even during a rally will make him a tough opponent in the future.
I was never sleeping on Kwon. Like I said many comments back on other matches, his game has changed tremendously over the past few tournaments. Well deserved. We need to see more of him in other tournaments.
Yeh I felt bad for him when he was making his speech; he was clearly absolutely gutted. But it's still been a great week for him and he's up to a new career-high ranking.
I was rooting against him in the SF against Bublik but oh my I am so happy he won the whole thing! Congrats to him and I am sure this isn't his last one 🙌🏻
wow... too surprised. He is 2nd player to win atp tour in Korea men's tennis, It's been took about 19 years from hyung taik lee.... I do hope he wins next atp title not too long
Yes indeed. Chung Hyeon's run at the Australian Open was amazing and I was really hopeful to see how far he could go. His issues with injuries are really unfortunate.
I'm becoming a fan of Kwon! Hes a very smart player, has great awareness of the court, seems very nice and humble, as well as very focused and quick on his feet. I like that in a player. Wish him the best of luck in the future!
Kwon on the route to be a great player should start following this guy. He needs to work on his first serve returns' and on his net game. He is a joy to watch!
Nice! Looks like Kwon has really soft hands, with those lobs and drop shots. Very well done. Would really like to see him flatten it out more like he did in that tiebreak.
Congratulations. Until this, I'd only watched his 3rd round in RG against Berrettini and the SF in Eastbourne against Deminaur. I didn't think he had so much potential. He is improving fast. Lajovic, Djere, Bublik and Duckworth are solid players, it's a huge performance. I wish him all the best. PS Kwon is very photogenic. What a gorgeous smile during the trophy ceremony, and great hair. :)
Kwon definitely deserved this title, wish him the best for upcoming tournaments.

As someone who has been following Kwon for like 5 years now, seeing him win a title is very satisfying. Have always loved his game.

His drop shot is spot on. MIGHT even score a few points against Djokovic should they ever meet again.

Amazing tennis from South Korea.
Kwon has now won enough prize money to get a proper hair cut and color
Such a smart player!

WHAT A JOURNEY
exactly. He's such a versatile player
Love the way Kwon can change his tactics on the fly and mix up what he's already been doing successfully. Love to see him play Medvedev or Zverev.
Hahahaha what? Medvedev or zverev? Seriously? The guys like Kwon loosing in 1-st round of challengers but one time in year can win easy tournament
Let's not go too far, first let's see him play Murray, before he can take on top 10 players.
Straight Sets win for Medvedev and Zverev, he is Not on the Same level

Great match by both. Good to see Ducky get some form, and I'm loving Kwon's diversity in shot making. Anticipating future success
That's too good. Sad to see my compatriot lose but Kwon was so impressive all week! Congrats!

Look at that consistency and fantastic drop shots. Very proud of him. Congrats on his career-first ATP title.
As an Aussie I'm very sad for James, but as a tennis fan I'm very excited for Kwon. Congrats 👏

Seeing Kwon win makes me feel so sorry for Heyon Chung. Such a talent but the injuries basically kept him away from the sport for 2 years now
Yes indeed. Chung Hyeon's run at the Australian Open was amazing and I was really hopeful to see how far he could go. His issues with injuries are really unfortunate.
I dont think his injury is that bad. He just lost motivation. Murray plays tier 1 tournaments even though his injury was more severe.
Congrats Kwon I have been noticing this guy for years now, always fights in wins or loses.
