@@Irfan87 Well, here in Germany there was not a lot of bad press about that and we are prone of being negative at everything. She wanted money, she got it.
Rublev has a terrible prematch routine, from entrance halls to the sprint to his own side of the baseline which is just unnecessary He wears his emotions on his face and sleeve too
Lets not forget, Rublev is playing with his childhood friend. They were best friends when growing up and now not anymore. Zverev mentions as one of best friends Ruboev sometimes when remembering their chilshood friendship but Rublev does not. There could be an emotional battle.
This is the confidence he had all the time when he was competing on the junior circuit. This is the first time I've seen him this confident on the pro tour. Looks like a great US open is in store for us!
Rublev didn't seem like he was in it, judging from the highlights. The intensity wasn't there. More importantly, it looked like he struggled to do damage. Zverev looked like the notably better mover. I would like to see Rublev improve on his explosiveness and movement on the court. I think for his height and build, he should be better. The slice defense on both sides can use some work so that the top guys don't pick on it. Otherwise, judging from the highlights, it really looked like Rublev couldn't damage Zverev consistently enough. If that's the case, that could explain Rublev's body language. I'm pretty sure Rublev follows Rafa's philosophy where one hones in on being able to deal enough damage to work their way to victory. If you can't deal damage, or you struggle to, you're not really going to believe in your chances of winning. Anyways. That went on long enough. Congrats still to both Zverev and Rublev for a great tournament. Both players had to overcome two of their toughest rivals to get to this match. Bravo!
I agree with all you said, I believe the semi held yesterday against Tsitsipas was the real final on this tournament and I also believe Rublev has potential to improve his playing and mental level being consistently in final stages of Tournaments like Cinci, clearly today he didn't play his best tennis (probably neither Zverev) The four guys in semi's are the real deal in next years to come. Cheers!
@@antonydandan6255 I'll add one thing to what you said about Rublev. For him to get to where he is now, rankings and result wise, with what he has right now, at his age, that's something already. His game is not as complete as the other 3 currently, I think, and he's gotten some amazing results. So imagine how much better he can be. Hence, I look forward to seeing his progress.
Rublev makin it to the Finals was a fluke let's face it .., Medvedev lost his first match to Rublev because he was exhausted from winning like 11 matches in a row
Huge congratulations from the Philippines sasha. Keep up the excellent job and we pray for your continuous good health and success. Mabuhay!!!!! Pls grab the usopen too!!!
Here's the thing. Yes, Rublev, Tsitsipas, Ruud etc. weren't really at their best. But they were pretty close honestly. None of them played badly this is just a new unstoppable Zverev. I'm so happy for him. Such a classy guy when he wins, and sure when he loses a bit salty, but he's always honest, and quite authentic in his speaches. The sky's the limit Sacha! And this is no accident mind you. For Sacha to win all he needs is a stable forehand and to hit more aces than double faults. If one of those breaks down he's in trouble. But after the olympics where he outplayed the best version of djokovic he looks like a new player indeed. All that's left is to win a slam. Can he do it at the us open? Well let's put it this way. He had djokovic in his hands at his favourite slam, and was one set away from a slam final in paris. As good as he was at those slams, this is his favourite turf now. Yes he got mentally fucked at the final last year, but he has a shot. And to put it in context djokovic choked 7 set points in two sets in the us open in 2007 his first slam final. Now he simply never chokes again.
Zverev has elevated his game so much in the past 12 months. Much more aggressive and a lot more consistent on his serve. Rublev needs to get it out of his system that he is/wants to be the hardest ball striker. Quite often you can see that he is going for an even harder shot when actually he should put some variation into the rally.
This version of zverev definitely would’ve beaten thiem. Gonna be super interesting to see how good medvedev, zverev, and tsitsipas have REALLY gotten, compared to djokovic in a gran slam stage now tho. They’ve each taken Huge steps this year, especially since Wimbledon it seems like
@@samuelbrown4764 Dude this version was there for 2.5 sets, but then he completely choked in the last 2.5. INfact in the 5th set he was serving for the match against a Thiem who had a cramp and still couldnt win.
The raw power from his groundstrokes is amazing, especially his backhand. If you say Sasha has to fix his serve then it needs to be his 2nd serve. His 1st serve is like a bomb.
This match summed up Rublev. No plan b. The only thing he knows is to hit everything flat and hard and if that doesnt work he is screwed. Similar to Ostapenko but not quite as bad. It's a shame cause I really want him to win bigger titles. Maybe he should text Tsitsipas' dad during his breaks.
It's amazing how many people make this comment, apparently without ever actually watching Rublev play. Or maybe it's the second tennis match you've ever watched
The trio of zverev, medvedev and Tsitsipas can certainly go into the us open on high hopes. Nole will be the benchmark, but if he flinches, one of these three will take the title
Zverev played at an amazing level and came out strong right out of the gates. Rublev, unfortunately struggled to get his game going, but he will continue to develop and be a real threat in slams in the future.
Sascha can beat anyone when he is in form. I think his problem when someone start to break his serve then suddenly his energy will go down and mental strength is gone.
Zverev is the most versatile next gen. Can play on Medium paced HCSs, fast HCs, outdoors, indoors, clay, altitude. Just needs to keep his head in Bo5 matches
Among the new champions, who was most predestined at 20 won, in 2017 Zverev was already in sixth place in the ATP while both Rublev and Medveded were under 50 and Tsisipas was not even among the top 100.
Sure but Medvedev is the first Number 2 since 2005, after the Big 4, and the only one who beat the top 3 in a single week, it's also another kind of predestination
I disagree. He's the gold 🏅 medal winner in the sport. Something Novak can't claim. He believes he can beat anyone. And actually he can. He will be Nole again if necessary and take the us open . He the 🥇.
All I can say is..thank Goodness there's a change afoot at the the top of the mens game. A new era of players is beginning ,and finally, getting major wins. Only the slams remain elusive for them. It's only a matter of time and that time is now!
Zverev burst into limelight when djokovic, nadal and fed were on their absolute peak. He has learnt a lot from these big 3. However he had that mental block of winning finals. Now that he won in tokyo Olympics, his willpower has gone up. He was unplayable today. He is definitely future no 1 alongside Daniel Medvedev and hope he wins US open this season. As for Rublev he is a top 4 player at best and will never win big title like milos raonic, just too one dimensional, hit hard as you can , no variety in shots and inconsistent player.
you mean djokovic. Zverev played his first grand slam round in 2015 I believe. That was when Federer hasn't won a slam in 3 years, Nadal is badly injured and on a low and Djokovic is in course for a real Grand Slam. Djokovic is very strong still and the other two as well, but Nadals prime is around 2010 and Federers even earlier.
Zverev was and is just young. Times are over when a Becker wins Wimbledon with 16. Where were we with 20/21? Sitting on the balcony and looking after short skirts, Zverev already played Quarters in GS. And the final last year was very bad luck, Thiem was hyper nervous either and the lucky winner in the end.
I'm really sorry about Rublev. Today he looked helpless, he was not at his level. And I'm very glad for the Zverev. Last year was like a horror movie to him. Now he is finally enjoying himself as he deserves.

Truth is, he was a bit of a twerpy teenager, but he's blossoming into a great ambassador for the sport.
Great ambassador? Seems like a bit of psycho, what with the abuses he dished out on his ex.
@@notreallytate4217 I agree with you but shouldn’t Alexanders accusations about Tsitsipas be proven also??
@@notreallytate4217 Evidence was provided. It's not baseless.
@@Irfan87 Abuses? The girl saw the money and grabbed it.
@@Irfan87 Well, here in Germany there was not a lot of bad press about that and we are prone of being negative at everything. She wanted money, she got it.
Man…Zverev looking like the new Federer. Great shot picking, pace control, even coming to the net at the right moments. Superb
Sometimes, raw quality of shots can win a match.
I thought this final would be tough and interesting, but falling far beyond from my thinking Zverev outplayed Rublev. He's playing like never before
really hoping to see Tsitsipas, Medvedev and Zverev improving and maturing into a new big 3
Tsitsipas maturing? pff please...btw Sasha and Dani allready did
@@olegrusu4341 he is younger than the other two, so there is hope. His daddy must go
Rublev, Auger Aliassime and Shapovalov for me
Absolutely incredible performance from
Sasha. Rublev was tired, ok, but Zverev‘s power was insane. Deserved win, outstanding 😉
Rublev has a terrible prematch routine, from entrance halls to the sprint to his own side of the baseline which is just unnecessary
He wears his emotions on his face and sleeve too
The GOAT SLAYER strikes again🐐🔥
Bravo!
Great analysis! Well said.
I agree with all you said, I believe the semi held yesterday against Tsitsipas was the real final on this tournament and I also believe Rublev has potential to improve his playing and mental level being consistently in final stages of Tournaments like Cinci, clearly today he didn't play his best tennis (probably neither Zverev)
The four guys in semi's are the real deal in next years to come.
@@JiraiyaSama86 very well said! I agree. Thanks for your clarification.
Rubkec was fukl of unforced errors
Zverev has been very good for a while now. I watched him against Nadal in Rome he played very well. I hope he wins US Open. Do it for Fedal 🔥
especially after he beat Djo in a come back manner in Olympics.
@@yiweiwang5574 Still feel as if Medvedev is number two in US open if his left arm is healthy.
Zverev has a good chance now.. draw has to be good... but if Medvedev plays his absolute best I like him to win it
"Do it for Fedal": If this ridiculous phrase doesn't show typical fascism and hate against Djokivic, nothing does...
Rublev makin it to the Finals was a fluke let's face it .., Medvedev lost his first match to Rublev because he was exhausted from winning like 11 matches in a row
His game took a turn for the worst after his collision with the camera yesterday
The only fluke here is medvedev’s inconsistent behavior and mindset. Rublev played as usual
Huge congratulations from the Philippines sasha. Keep up the excellent job and we pray for your continuous good health and success. Mabuhay!!!!! Pls grab the usopen too!!!
That was something special. The match was so fast 💨. Now US Open is not a dream. It is totally possible playing like this. Best of luck 🤞
Zverev is unstoppable! What a game for him! Good luck in US OPEN
Absolutely insane play this week, excited. Hope he makes it far in the US Open. Rublev will get better too we hope
Zverev is already no. 11 or so in career earnings. Pretty amazing at the age of 24.
2 of my fave players to watch.....fun energy !
Zverev you are super, congrats handsome boy👍👍Rublev do not sad, you still have a plenty time I'm sure you will get many title's, keep spirit dear 💪💪
Technically and mentally, he's ready to winning GS.
yeah, early this year we said that about Meddy then Tsitsipas and now Zverev...
In my opinion no. Winning best of 5 is almost another sport.
He is best player right now
definitely one of the contenders for the USO, beside Djoko, Medvedev and Tsitsipas. These are the 4 to watch if they remain injury free.
If Nole allows something like that to happen. I believe he is going to be full thrust in USO
Zverev has a high chance to win USO right now. GO DO IT MAN!
This is the most polished Alexander I have seen in many tournaments.
He was tired, you can clearly that from his footwork and body language, and everybody knows that when there is no gas in the tank, the game is over.
😂😂😂
It's amazing how many people make this comment, apparently without ever actually watching Rublev play. Or maybe it's the second tennis match you've ever watched
Andrey has been always an average player at big tournaments. It's hard for him to boost himself up to a real potential champion candidate.
He has done some huge wins, but up to. Now, aftwr huge wins, he clashes mentally, has happwned before. He is not mentally mature.
Is it just me or is Zverev hitting the ball a lot cleaner and faster in the past month
Medvedev vs Zverev would be better final 😐
Hopefully we get that match at the US Open. Please!!!!!
@Plug Wafer are you from the future?
@Plug Wafer There is literally no predicting that but if they are then it would be a great semi.
Zverev's screams sound like a Japanese anime character in fighting mode.
I love it. And that's what he's doing. Fighting.
Zverev looks like a man on a mission. Gotta see what he pulls at US open
Good to see Zverev back his Olympic performance up, lets see if he can continue through to the US open
My hope after Roger and Rafa!! Let's go Sascha!!
The trio of zverev, medvedev and Tsitsipas can certainly go into the us open on high hopes. Nole will be the benchmark, but if he flinches, one of these three will take the title
Rublev needed a camera to help take out Zverev🤣
Precisely 2nd set match against novak at olympic semifinal his tennis gone to a next level
Great Performance by Zverev ❤❤❤. Zverev played phenomenal Tennis to lift the trophy 👍👍💪💪
Zverev has ARRIVED! Gold medal, 5th 1000 Masters and I wouldn't be surprised if he wins the US OPEN.
I think Zverev has found his game, he's reached another level... his tennis is maturing nicely... Watch out to all his competitors.
Spectacular performance by Sascha! Congrats!
When you hold serve and break here and there it’s hard to lose tennis matches
I should follow that advice😂
lol, love it
Tennis' future after the Big 3, is more than secure!
Only Big 1 is remaining
Zverev to Rublev: Great match! You played much better than Tsitipas.
What a way to win!!!
He just deserve this...he played such an incredible match
Well deserved Sasha; he is been around for the last 5 years and now is his time
Zverev is the most versatile next gen. Can play on Medium paced HCSs, fast HCs, outdoors, indoors, clay, altitude. Just needs to keep his head in Bo5 matches
The forehand at 0:52. Terrifyingly good!
When you look closely , the match was shorter than the highlights
Zverev can make US open 2021 interesting.
Healthy Djokovic will always have a mental edge .
I disagree. He's the gold 🏅 medal winner in the sport. Something Novak can't claim. He believes he can beat anyone. And actually he can. He will be Nole again if necessary and take the us open . He the 🥇.
What a stunning performance, he's ready for US Open
All I can say is..thank Goodness there's a change afoot at the the top of the mens game. A new era of players is beginning ,and finally, getting major wins. Only the slams remain elusive for them. It's only a matter of time and that time is now!
Rublev just was no match today hope zverev continues to play like this in us open
Damn, Sascha looking solid. Ruby was drained and lost his footing, but Zverev kept the pace strong.
@Ravi Kumar @ you can say that for Nadal too.
Sasha was an absolute beast out there today 🙌🙌
That backhand on fire!
I'm really sorry about Rublev. Today he looked helpless, he was not at his level.
And I'm very glad for the Zverev. Last year was like a horror movie to him. Now he is finally enjoying himself as he deserves.
Sascha, you can win the us open in this year! Make it!
