Baby Seal Drags Bucket

  • Unbelievable! The line was so tight around the seal’s neck and not cutting it yet. Seeing the seal fill up with air after the last line was cut was such a huge relief. There are many reasons why this seal would not have made it back to shore, for example, with water getting in the bucket, etc. Every time we find such mind-boggling entanglements, it raises immense concern about how many animals never make it, so this baby seal is really lucky.

That bucket was too heavy for the seal to drag through the sand for long, but can you imagine how heavy it must have been, filled with water, when he was trying to swim? And the rope/line twisting more and more tightly around his neck, cutting off his air.... He didn't have much time left, thank you for saving him!🙏❤

I strongly feel that you were literally just in the nick of time for the seal with the bucket - it just felt that this was a close one. Thank the universe that OCN was there at that moment! So much respect and love for all that every one of you do! ❤

We are unfortunately not solving the problem, but only treating the symptoms of the plastic crisis with our rescues. The goal of these videos is to show the consequences of this pollution and create a change to tackle its roots - namely our addiction to single-use plastics, the lack of law enforcement at sea, and the shortcomings of the recycling industry.
