This is such a great apartment. One of the most spacious I’ve seen in the series.
lol why are people so shook by the rent price and exclaiming how much does this lady make? it says she works in IT so obviously people in IT make more in a city like NYC than in rural indiana, also she's 30. Not everyone is struggling and in their early 20s. It's so great to see someone with a beautiful and spacious apartment who has worked for her money.

Considering Rent should be around 1/4 to 1/3 of your salary, one can assume she makes 100k-135k a year. With a salary of 170K a year (Age 27-32) you are considered to be in the 1%. I think it's safe to say she is more than just "not struggeling". She is killing it! I don't see why people should not comment on it? She earned it.

I love this apartment ! It will literally be the perfect place if it had a washer and dryer machine. People who don't live in NY always complain about the prices for NY apartments, but the people who live here really could appreciate the amount of space that she's getting for $2,800!
It's a lot for Brooklyn, not being in a new building, and not being in Williamsburg. If this was Manhattan or a new building, I'd say it's a good deal, but it's not.

Refinery29 Hi but working for an IT company is not a job... I can get not realeasing their income but as you feature so many nice appartments rented by young people that many other young people can't pay that would be very interesting to know their job, business area and how long they have been in it for inspiration!

Wow pretty pricey apartment for a 1 bed, but she's definitely made the most out of it and it doesn't even look like a typical NY apartment (i.e. it's actually spacious)! She probably has the most cohesive style out of all the episodes so far and I love her eclectic art tastes. Love it! p.s. I vote for either the bird (1st one) wallpaper or the flower wallpaper (3rd one)
i love this series, specially being a new york native it gives me a look at how other people around the city live. also LOVE the dark wood floors in her apartment!

Great apartment and style but I find West Elm hugely overpriced for what it is. You can find real mid-century modern pieces for the same prices or even less if you're really into that style

West elm seems to be like Starbucks in New York. There's status involved with buying items there. I've noticed that all these videos, which are cool, really derive design pleasure and status from it.

agreed. my couch is genuine leather and looks identical to that and i got it for $800. i can't imagine spending $3000 on a couch haha

I totally hooked on this sweet digs series and I love each one I see, but each in a different way. .I love how each person decorates to their personality. .which is what makes a home. .a home. ..my only complaint is you rush through the rooms so fast and show so much of there decor that you really have to look fast to catch a glimpse of the actual apartment. .could you please spend just a few minutes more on the rooms for us that might be interested in moving to NYC

This is probably my favorite one so far. The style is nothing like mine and I would never decorate my home this way but it looks so so cool and the dark wall color is amazing with the big windows. Great taste!

Following a standard 30% of income rule for rent, plus the additional cost of NY - you'd need to make $100,000-$120,000 to make it work.
got to remember that most city people aren't able to find rent at one third of their salary, so wouldn't be unrealistic to assume she was spending half her salary here.
Even if she was spending half of her salary, rent alone on that place would come to $33,600 a year. Not counting anything she owns already in there, food prices, and bills. Also to be able to afford all that alcohol and have a cocktail area in your kitchen, it's probably not unreasonable to assume she makes at least 6 figures, if not close to it. That or she's got a rich family who happens to pay for everything.
