it is. But honestly, for what she's paying is a mortgage in one of the outer boroughs. She may feel like its worth the money but its not. Most of the people that pay for this amount of money, really just wanna live in these overpriced areas

Audrey Lee right. I live in NJ, which isn’t far from NY. For the amount of money she’s paying for a ONE BEDROOM (So sad because that price ain’t right) you can get a 3+ bedroom apartment. And even a 3 bedroom is around one thousand.

Y'all, she lives in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in NY, and probably splits the rent with her partner. I'm so tired of seeing people in the comments shocked by NY rent prices. It's Manhattan! Your rent pays for more than just your space. You're also paying for location and all the awesome things that come with living in NYC (food, art, culture, etc).

I’m a native New York and I don’t think these high rents are necessary. I’m tired of the “it’s New York” thing. Not denying why rents are so high because in that sense you’re right- location, arts, culture. I’m simply tired of people paying stupid amounts of money to be near yoga studios and coffee shops and Whole Foods. It’s corny, overrated and expensive.
All that said, her apartment is super cute but her cat is the best!
lol it's call a metrocard; i live in brooklyn and can still enjoy most of the things she does in the city at a fraction of the price for a much larger space. of course it's her and her partner's money so if they can afford it then good on them. i hope they have an actual plan in place for future though especially if they decide to have kids, etc.
This is a neighbor behind heavily gentrified - the reason the prices are so high is to price out people who have been living there and to replace them with people who will willingly and can afford to pay an outrageous amount of money for “cafes and culture and art” you can get that experience anywhere New York is not unique
@@bronxkies yea but you probably live in the Bronx so who cares cause you dont undertstand. She is downtown where EVERYTHING(work, shopping, groceries, bars, club, movies, gym) is by walking and will not be paying for a car, car insurance, gas, repairs, uber etc.
This is actually a steal for the size, most people who don’t live in nyc don’t get it. She’s in a prime convenient neighborhood and the real estate is insane. Trying to buy a place in nyc is almost impossible without some kind of help cause putting down a down payment for a good sized apartment in a good neighborhood close to the subways is $$$$
Not true. True about buying. It’s a nightmare. But that place is not big enough to warrant almost $4000. I’m guessing she lives in the West Village or upper Manhattan. The location is what she’s paying for, not that tiny space.

One of the best Sweet Digs eps! Hong is hilarious! Can't stand the price of the apartment (fellow NY resident and understand it's normal but the rent prices here are out of control). That aside, her bedroom is huge! Love that her style is not overly curated or artificial, but super charming and real.

I live in nyc there are cheaper places to live and the apartments are wayyy nicer. They just want to show the ugly expensive ones for some reason

I'm not sure if this series is about that. I've viewed it as a story telling piece of how women are carving spaces for themselves in the world. I love to know about the person as much as apartment. It's not just an apartment tour.

I feel like there could a be a better happy medium. I think the story of the people is what makes the space (and there series) more meaningful, but the space itself can also be displayed more to show the design elements.

Y’all don’t realize how great this price really is for the west village!! Almost always there’s a big spike in rent for having pets as well. And that apartment is in AMAZING condition, that bedroom is HUGE with an amazing closet. They are literally in such short walking distance from everything they need too.

I really love the personal touches of this space. Her sense of humor is adorable too. I did balk at the price and the small kitchen, but the bedroom, living room and outdoor space make up for it. Lovely apartment.

Not even enough space for a dining nook. She's clearly getting ripped off. Sure it's a nice-ish location but honestly NYC is not as special as New Yorkers think it is. You'd have a much better quality of life and pay way less (even save money for rainy days, imagine that) in other vibrant cities of the world.
