In this video we look at how to get the Ecliptic Claymore I,II & III with the main focus being on the Ecliptic Claymore I,II & III.
Requirements:
Few things to note to get this ship.
1. You need a Class C License to pilot this beast.
2. Star Ship Design Rank 4 to add better mods to this ship is desirable but not required.
3. Rank 1 System Targeting Perk required for boarding.
4. This is a random event so its not a for sure thing. May take time and multiple attempts but it may also be level locked.
5. This will be level locked so please keep that in mind
How Can I buy Claymore I,II & III.? Unfortunetly you can't buy it anywhere.
Notes & Tips:
1. Bring ship parts with you.
2. Save Once you find Claymore I,II & III
3. Destroy other ships and leave Claymore III Prophecy till last
4. There are no bounties for getting Claymore I,II & III
5. Set difficulty as you need.

I snagged a Claymore II, replaced one of the 1x1 passageways and the 2x1 strut down below with a Stroud Eckland 3x1 all-in-one living hab and now I absolutely love this ship! Because of that change, I can access the bridge from either the top floor or the entryway and it now seems like a very livable ship with a total of 6 bunks + the Captain’s quarters. It’s perfect 🥰

Claymores are my favorite ship. I wish I could see a higher lvl claymore then the first lvl claymores. I’m sure by 60 I’ll be seeing them for sure.
@@celindafuller8498I'm lvl 34 and had one spawn in Masada but the bounty defenders blew it up while I was taking out the engines. Took one of their ships but it sucked 😡. Just go to the high lvl systems on very hard and hopefully it will spawn. Happy hunting
It's a bummer Starfield videos aren't getting the views they were at first. I really enjoy your Starfield content. It would be a bummer if you had to move on. I'm 375hrs in. Level 95. 10 outpost. 10 ships. Own every player house in game. I'm still having fun though. I've been really into exploring / surveying lately.
Its my first experience of such a down turn in views but its up to me to try fix that. The mad rush at the start must always be good for everyone and then it gets real hard after that. I will always be making Starfield content but I'll have to try some of the new games like Avatar in December, Enshrouded in January and then hopefully Starfield Expansion in March.
I finally got myself a Claymore 3, which I have been dying to own since this (and your previous video on Claymores) came out.
I did get a C1 a few days back as a random ship landing site where I was just exploring.
For the C3, I was following this guide and hanging out in Masada - I didn't see many Claymores at all either in orbit or after landing - I'm level 49 for what it's worth.
However, a few bounty Hunters popped in after me and the leader was level 65 - I thought I'd try and board his ship and just managed to do so, not noting it was a Claymore until I was docking.
After cleaning up I went to view my new ship and it just came up as "Bounty Hunter", although the ship was definitely a Claymore.
I thought it was just another C1, maybe a C2 - until I saw the engine at 38!!!!!!!!!!
After hightailing it back to a shipyard - the name changed itself to C3 - so confirming that I snagged one.
I am so happy - just need to give her a tweak or two (and absolutely get rid of those rubbish White Dwarf engines) and this will be my main ship for a while.
Might be worth tweaking your guide that it can also show up as a Bounty Hunter ship in space - knowing that the ones that land you can't fly.
Actually maybe many tasty ships can show up with bounty hunters in space?

Awesome I'm glad you got one in the end. Masada wouldn't be my preferred pick but thought to highlight it as it does have Ecliptic base.

Bounty hunter ships are great in orbit but sucky on land cause you can't take them.
Same here, bounty hunters attacked in Masada but the bounty defenders destroyed the ship while I was taking out the engines, Im lvl 34. Took one of their ships but it was a regular Mustang

I actually captured a base model Claymore a few days ago.
Ripped out the old engines and some of the useless structural pieces.
Added some better cargo modules, a 40 power reactor, a better grav drive, and slapped in 5 Slayton SAL-6830.
Got it up to 100 mobility.
Later I added an Armory and a Science Lab; still got 100 mobility.
But even after making those additions,, I still wanted to get a Claymore III.
With your guidance, I got one.
Got my ass handed to me a couple of times, because he had backup: a Falcata II and a Bayonet or Cutlass.
Once I took out the backup, and it was just me and the Claymore, i knew I had it.
Took out the engines and it was as good as mine.
Was in the Bohr system, FYI.

It's a great ship, often the last ship I've been actively using as I get ready to move on through each New Game. I commandeer one eventually. No need to spend big credits on a new ship. I love the simple and spacious interior.
It is an awesome ship. Looks so deadly and sleek. Good choice for the end.

I got one of these yesterday, but I had to roll back the save game since the game bug hit me hard. Lost it. Now I saw your video, makes me want to capture it again. Found it on the Ixyll System when building an outpost in Ixyll 2.
Awesome its good fun trying to capture. You should find the claymore almost everywhere so hopefully you get the encounter that allows you to take it.
Just wanted to say, I followed your instructions to the T and well guess what, I now own one of these bad boys at level 53. Took me three hrs as the current claymore I had kept destroying two on my first try (auto turrets went crazy) decided to go with an EM gun worked out fine. Thing is a beast!!!😅
Awesome! Glad it worked well for you. Auto turrents can make it much harder. You can always increase or decrease the difficulty to make it an easier process if you need.
Oh yes it was so worth it! i decreased my difficulty to "very easy" and it worked out fine. I had already acquired the very first claymore and updated the auto turrets lol they were a bit too effective. SO, i turned power down on them mid battle and let the EM do the trick and boom caught my White whale.....took time but ahhh this thing is amazing. i have upgraded a claymore II , i shuffled things around for an extra engine and cargo up to 4640 and mobility of 90 + full speed , it has three pbo-300 auto turrets with between 2/3 times the fire rate of the IIIs weapons so they are also extremely effective, i have never needed more . also have adjusted the layout for two neat corridor levels. I have not seen any ship that betters this really

I did the same as you, with a bit different loadout and this ship is amazing. I have over 5300 cargo and intend to add more with a shielded hold. I obtained mine by killing Larry Dombrowski because killing him earns a never ending Ecliptic bounty, which is totally awesome because the Ecliptics will send the Claymores after you and let’s face it, you are the best pilot of the game, so they are an easy kill. The one thing in this game that I cannot get enough of is more space battles. I wish I had picked the wanted trait, dang it, but killing Dombrowski tends to rectify that a bit.
I got this ship yesterday. it's an awesome ship. Almost destroyed it, just a shade red left when i boarded her. Today, i finally got the Galbank Stormrider 3. I didn't realize before until after looking at it that it's the same ship as a pirate ship i got like 4 days ago. But it was all black. Love these video.... been using them to get these ships. So far i have gotta UC Vista 1,2,3- Stornrider- Claymore 2,3 (1 eludes me), a bunch of different Valentines, but not the big red gold one yet. Pretty much all the Crimsom. Still no Autobahn or Voyagers. Sadly lol i sell them. I love the UC Vista 3 cerson i have, 9 crew and i upgraded the engines, weapons and shields, she rocks. Thx for making these vids
Your adventure is sounding awesome. Makes me happy to hear that these videos have help a little bit :) Unfortunately with a limit of 10 ships mostly due to the xbox release it doesn't leave you with any option but to sell :( . Autobahn should become pretty common once at a high enough level. hawking systems seems to be great for them but maybe that cause i'm lvl 100. Thanks for your comment :)

This is one of my favorite ships to modify for my needs. I don't want ANY forward facing auto turrets, I'll use one facing back and 4 high end hellion beams facing front.
I like this idea I'll have to try it out. Nice one.
Same concept here, my two front facing weapons are suppressors to disable and board, Hellion beams to kill, and then I have a rear facing auto-turret disruptor to keep them off my tail. I cut through everything every time.
Thanks for this video. Was wondering where to go to get the Claymore, saw this vid, went to the Celebrai system and then got attacked by 3 bounty hunters, all in Claymore III's. Was a tough fight, but I have the Claymore now!

I could never find a III until NG+ 5. Never spawned anywhere until I went to one of the moons in the Fermi system right after starting with constellation. Can’t wait to mod it once I have some money

FYI if you are high enough level and have the Wanted trait the Bounty Hunter Captain that leads the bounty hunters that show up randomly in space often have a Claymore (III if you are high enough level)
I know you can't pilot the surface events for bounties but can you pilot the bounty hunter ships in space encounters?
@@SiNKiLLeR_ Can confirm you can disable and board bounty hunter ships in space just like most other space encounters (I have personally done it at least 3x and never got locked out of a cockpit trying it). I got a Claymore III from a Bounty Hunter it was labeled Bounty Hunter Captain, but it is a Claymore III.

I regularly get Claymore 3's on Huygens, just go to the moons and leave your ship, more often than not a ship will land and very often it will be a Claymore 3 and then you kill the crew and its all yours. I also get quite a few Vista 3's as well, but for them you need to leave the system then come back to them after they unlock.

Just farmed this, thanks. The ship has almost the exact stats as my current ship which is a bastard rebuild of a Narwhal and normally I cut right through Ecliptic battles but this thing kicked my ass over and over. Luckily it just respawned me at the same spot and the same ship kept respawning back in to attack me so I got a few chances at it but this is the first time since I first started playing that an Ecliptic whooped my ass like. Now I have to take it out and see if I can deliver the same.
Well done on capturing this monster. If you have trouble capturing stronger ships you could try lower difficulty. Also ships might look like they have the same bar stats but will be dramatically different depending on the weapons.
yesterday i went farming ships and xp on serpentis and was fun deleting varuun ships all day but then i got 2x ecliptic (claimore plus other) and got my ass wooped a few times but then i was able to finish obne of them fast and board the other kinda easy too, its a c2 but o well, im still lvl 58 so its all well and good.
The best thing I like with the claymore is the most unique cockpit

I got it and upgraded. New shield and reactor then replaced the small engines with 3 more large ones. Then some cosmetic, shielded cargo and weapons and it is a beast

This is my second favorite ship, it can be easely obtain and have very high chace to spawn. Look awesome and can be easy reconfigured to desired configuration - for example I change brig for living quarters and I change some cargo for shielded cargo. Best pirate ship arghhhhh...!

I got two so far. One I stole, then found one just sitting on a planet for the taking. Did not have to fight anyone for it. Good ship to build from.

I placed an outpost on Toliman II-c and The Claymores land often. I stole two in three visits to my outpost. The triple disruptor 3340a setup is pretty awesome. Selling them is a ripoff to me, so I'm just gonna keep them. Ship registration costs in this game are stupid and should be cut in half or done away with completely.
Register them from your ship for a huge discount over the planet-side registration.

Toliman-C sounds like a great place to fin them by the sounds of your experience. Might be worth checking this out everyone if your looking for a claymore. I'm guessing you don't have the wanted Trait? Yer I wish you could go somewhere and pay less and get a dodgy rego or something.
it also has some great cargo space and an easy ship to get around in with only two levels.

It's my main ship, due to bugs it was hard to get it to stop disappearing and not taking my cargo's with it, the only way I've managed to keep it was sell it then buy at full price so it's no longer a "Pirate Ship" but have had freezing saves ever since, I just love the look of it though, Dragonfire 2 is my next ship.
Damm man it still sounds like some nasty issues are around. Good idea doing the resale trick I would have tried the same. Also the Dragonfly is another great looking beast.

Claymore III is a beast, found mine in the hawking system, best ship ive used thus far, thing is TANKY!

Great video, I recently stole the Ecliptic MKII from a moon, I was literally there a minute before i heard the raw of ship thrusters, ran over to it sneaked and killed the pirates.
I had 600k in creds and updated Eng,Shield,Weapons etc to make it one mother of a ship!!! But will look out for the MKIII Thanks!

I am looking for one of these for sure. I stole an OK I guess UC Autobahn with a bunch of cargo. If you have issues with using the targeting zoom change out all the weapons at a tech
UC autobahn is not bad but Claymore will serve you better over all I think. I hope you have some luck.
If you want to add more of the same weapons to this kind of steals, just duplicate where they are mounted (ship edit) and it will include the weapon too, cause if you look for some of these weapons and you are low lvl.. you wont find it or it will be lock.

If you compare the claymore to the other pirate high end C ships its just way cooler and no one else has it.

I immediately wanted to get a Spacer Hyena when I saw pictures of it, but I immediately wanted to sell it once I saw the insides. It's just a mess.
Several other ships, though they've mostly been Va'ruun, and I've liked a few.
But the Claymore stands head and shoulders above them all.
I find that it's easy to build this bad boy yourself rather wait for it to spawn. I now have five of them. Each with the different Habs maufacturers.

Finally snagged one of these bastards. Ironically, I wasn’t even looking at that moment. I was building an outpost on Syrma III and looked over in the distance. Damn thing was just sitting there. To my surprise, I was allowed to take it!!!

Had the III land right in front of me on Masada while I was running to a facility to clear. I took it but shame I won't keep it as I am playing NG+ to find the perfect universe to stay in. Oh well, pretty sure I'll get one in another universe anyway as Masada is the best place to get one of these.
Yer the NG+ thing is a bit of a shitty aspect for sure. Hopefully we get a choice to keep everything down the track.

@SiNKiLLeR_ Mine was always 36k tbf, I only pushed it higher after discovering the SAL-6830 which doubled the mobility I had at 36k, I use that engine on most of my ships now.
Its all about the storage for us MAHAHA :)
I have reason to believe the Claymore has hard-coded spawn locations on a specific moon or planet. I was able to reproduce this on the same original playthrough...Not sure if the location stays the same on each ng+.
It could be, we would need multiple people to reproduce to confirm. The only trouble with this is that the claymore is one of the most common ships in the spawn pools.
I got 2 of them just by wandering around in level 50 system, they land, also you can fight and board, usually this one is a 1V1 combat when he show up

I think Dragonfly is similarly built with this, I can't remember off the top of my head if they have the same weapon system or not. Probably not. Just the body is pretty much the same.
Dragonfly looks very similar but unfortunately its a very different ship for the most part. Its steal a nice ship and love the way it looks. Good choice if you want to buy it and mod it to be more like the claymore for weapons and things.
Bought the dragonfly 2. Very similar look, comes with the same auto turrets also the supernova engines. Replaced the auto turrets as you don't want to accidentally destroy ships you want to capture.
Found the ship in Hawking. It is really nice.

Some reason When I board I think the smaller ships they take off with me inside of them. So now you have no choice but to capture the ship even if you don't want to capture it. Has not happened on any larger ships.
How do you get camera movement like at the start of the video ? That looks so impressive
For me I hold Q while I have a ship targeted.
At lvl 56(lvl 4 everything)and I go to the highest lvl planets. Do the respawning methods 50x and still get lower level ships. If by chance a 2/3 pops up, it takes off before I could get near, even if I get a close respawn spot. It’s definitely lvl locked. The only lvl 3 I see is a Stiletto. Won’t let me get near anything else higher. It’s frustrating. I built a ship stronger then the ships I’m allowed to steal.
I’m charging to lvl 60.
How many times did you change spots ? Some spots will never spawn a mk 2 or 3 due to the size of the landing area or landing area type. Id say for mk 3 your better off trying at lvl 65 or 72 to be sure.
Between Prophecy III, Claymore II and Hyena III, which is the best of the three for attack, cargo and shield?
Off the top of my head its the Hyena 3
i have found the ecliptic claymore 3 times and every time the bay was CLOSED!! and it couldnt be opened, at least i dont know how
They sound like dead ships or bounty ships which you wont be able to steal.

I would like to know if the placement of the moons has anything to do with the spawns, I have 4 claymore lll at Huygens Vll-D when it's at 7 or 8 O'clock, and I don't get any if it's anywhere other than there. or is it just me. and dam I keep killing them, I just starting using EM weapons. I was slow on that one.
I do think gametime or maybe even real time has something to do with ship spawns but its hard to say for certain. EM weapons will be a great choice and make capturing them easier! getting 4 is so sweet nice work!

My main problem is this damn ship lands on planets all the time and suffers from the heartbreaking 'You are not authorized to pilot this ship" even with max piloting and starship design... 😢
I briefly mention and unfortunately its considered a dead ship so only way to pilot them is to use console commands or try spawning another one and hope its just the normal Claymore encounter not the bounty hunter or the drop ship.
It looks longer then the accepted length for C class ships. How did you manage that ?
From memory Claymore is 37M long
My ships have been bugged with not authorized to pilot this ship (fix is to swap a shield to a different spot and then back fixed it to where I don't get the bug with that phrase now).

You could get the mk 1 pretty early but much hard to get the mk 3 early but it is possible.
I just had a claymore 3 but it said im not authorized to pilot it but my piloting is maxed what am i supposed to have to get it ?
That sounds like a bounty ship which is considered a dead ship. Youll need skk ship mod to get around that. Otherwise you can't fly it.

Awesome! You destroyed the ship to quickly? Did you have a save ? You could always reload and turn difficultly up so you don't kill them so quickly with your awesome ship :)

This ship is great unless and until you get hit with the autoturret bug. Then, it's a clunky mess. If your game never bugs out, this thing slaps.

Guns can just stop working.
@@SiNKiLLeR_ that‘s when your autoturrets just stop working and don‘t fire anymore for no reason at all. After restarting the game they worked again when I had this Bug.

2nd try in Celebrai in a space battle. I was attacked by 2x smaller ships and 2x Claymore III. It was close but I got one of the Claymores.

@@PeDDaSACI restart the game and the obliterator turrets never work for some reason it’s so annoying. All the other turrets work just not the obliterators
Ahh, that bug, wondered that for a bit, then hit ship builder and rotated the turrets 90 degrees, saved, then rotated I back to face front, and it solved the issue. If your level I high enough, the claymore iii lands more frequently, although, often, they just drop some ground troops and fly off, but it also lands I guess indefinitely, unless you clear the ground troops.

I have "Wanted" and since im level 120 they show up in this ship as part of first encounter in each new space. I hate that you cannot take their ship in this event, even if you kill them all.
Unfortunately thats correct. I mention this at the end. I thought you could capture them in space though or can you not? I know for sure the ones on surface will be considered dead ships so you can't take them.
@@SiNKiLLeR_ You cant take it even in space. Tried and still failed. I think this specific ship is flagged differently so you cant take it.
I should specify "failed" - i succesfully knocked out engines and boarded, killed all the crew and still got same message as when you try to take it on land.

I was on the hunt for a Vista when a Claymore 3 pirate attacked me, I stole the ship and was surprised how brutal it is (currently lv 22)

I'd rather take a ship on the ground as I'm ok fighting in space but not a great pilot. I did take the The Claymore MK II today in a landing zone.
Im a bit of both. Ground can be so good especially when your just roaming around and they land in front of you :) so awesome you got the mk 2. Where did you get it ? Xo
@@SiNKiLLeR_ would you believe it was on the plant Toliman II I was doing the mission " Collect the Delinquent CEO's Debt " I'm level 82 and just started the first 3 mission for GalBank. I finished it and was checking the landing zones to see what ships where around and found it.
fyi I got to level 82 by using a outpost farming method killing creatures on a level 75 planet.
dammit... I only did the Crimson Fleet quest line to get my ships shielded cargo storage.. now I regret it for 2 reasons, I still got busted with banned cargo & they fleet changes the name of my ship from Ecliptic Claymore MK II.. and now it says pirate Ship. I'm so mad now. so I spent 5 hours trying to get a better ship, Well I got the Ecliptic Claymore MK III on Hawking IV and after all this BS with the Crimson Fleet changing my ships name, Well I'm going to kill the leader & his main crew on the Key. LOL
By far the best stolen ship, untill you lose the chance to get any via the bug (is it a bug or just a nerfing?). I have mine upgraded until max anything and much cargo also. Nice looking also. Had to back to Kepler r which I also modified heavily. Both tear through 3-4 lvl 50 starborn losers easy.
Wow your ship sounds like a beast. That bug has been bothering so many players. I hope they fix it soon.
Hawking is the best area for spawns imo....

I prefer to farm hostile ship events in high level sectors cause your player level does not matter.
Its a good way they have done it. Surface spawns seem to be more influence by level but then again I don't know for certain.

SO it says level 60 for the auto turret. Does that apply if you steal the ship?
I have 2 at level 51 and the auto turrets work great. Stole them on Tolliman II-c.
Level unlock on ship parts will not prevent you from stealing and piloting ships. The only thing you need is the correct piloting rank. The part level unlock only refers to the level you need to be in order to be able to see and purchase those parts for yourself.
If you find out how to get a reef III on a low level charakter i would love to know.
Ive spent a ton of time trying to get it to spawn again with no luck. Had a week where it spawned a ton but now something changed. Ill contunie to try get a replicated scenario. Hawking is one of the systems I would find it.
@@SiNKiLLeR_ yeah i had the same going on, i fly around with a level 8 Charakter and i only saw a reef 2 one time. Its easier to get a level 60 + distress call ship

If you have completed their quest-line and joined the Crimson Fleet they should be your allies now.
I destroyed the ecliptics home base does that affect them spawning near their home world
I don't think it will but I haven't tested this situation.
I have bad news for this ship. The Akila city ship vendor front desk is missing after I stole this ship mark 3, mark 2 also bug which can cause the newly built ship to go missing after changing some parts after the initial build. I have to go back to 50 save game to double-check. I had built a few ships after getting this ship, and now I have to rebuild it again. I am not sure about everyone else. Stealing ships can be risky getting a bug. Also, some already-built ships can go missing on my outpost's big landing pad. So from now on, I would be really extra careful when stealing a ship. I've stolen a Valentine, but cannot rename it, so I've duplicated it after making some modifications and upgrades. Then able to rename, and sell the bug ship. I would prefer to to delete it at this point rather than sell it, cause it stays with the New Atlantis ship vendor, even though all other default ship inventory has been randomized.
Yo, I'm sorry to hear that, its really messed up! From other comments its not just this ship but can happen on a few different ones as well. I'm thinking it might be something else that's causing the issue since its happening to different ships. I think something is happening here that might possible impact all ships but the certain trouble event has to happen what ever that is. But regardless what it is these bugs need fixing ASAP!

Starborn ships really muck up ship spawns :( No way around that other then going NG plus and avoiding that missions.
Lol, got one today, killed the whole crew and the game showed me its middle finger: I am not allowed to fly this ship…I am lvl 90, piloting lvl 4…but no way…the game said…nope
Ah damm at the end of this video I touch on this issue. Bounty ships are considered dead so they can't be captured without console commands :(
I stole this ship and it glitched out on me. keep going invisible when I landed had to end up selling it.
What the hell that bug is still around. Gosh thats annoying. It should be pretty rare for that to happen. The next one should hopefully be fine.

I found more than one on a frozen moon in Masada System. Claymore III is a really nice ship.

Often I see ships spawn after I boost or shoot a few asteroids. Seems to trigger them.

@@SiNKiLLeR_the reason I say this is I have looked in all the places that you have noted in your videos and not found one of them. So no offence is your videos aren’t reliable and I’ve put time into looking for them. These videos are like all RUclipsrs who play Starfield ship finding videos
Yer for sure it works for some and not others. Sorry it didn't work for you. What level are you? Claymores are super common ships so you'll come across them soon enough.
Try hostile ship events on 65 + level systems. Thats how i allways farm for that ship

Mobility doesn't feel as bad it suggest but depending on what your use. But I agree mobility could use some improvement.
I really dislike the starborne ships. They stop the other ships from dropping.
I hate them with a passion now. Completely destroys ship spawning.
When does this happens? Also on NG+?
@@Scream2378 you have to go NG and then you dont get them spawning until you get to the starborn missions

I gave up on ship hunting. Nothing but starborn ships spawn in this broken game.
Starborn suck so much. I didn't enjoy that aspect.
Still a fairly crap ship….easily bested by the Basilisk or Citadel (Build guides provided on RUclips by the Wise Old Wizard). Good if you can’t build better I guess…

Yeah…all I am seeing are stupid starborn ships that aren’t even intended for me to interact with. I just leave and ignore them, Also I refuse to talk to anyone from constellation to advance the main campaign, I am boycotting the whole Ng + until they patch those stupid starborn ships out, so I can see regular large ships randomly.
The starborn completely mess ship spawns :( i really hate that section of the main story. A really annoying mechanic.
They are irritating. When I see one "zone in" I leave.
Although they are good EXP when you take them out.

I can understand your frustration. Making these videos takes a lot of time even if it doesn't look like it. The claymore is a super common ship that doesn't really need a how to get it video. So I didn't spend a ton of time explaining how to get it.But I wanted to cover it as its the highest damage output for a starfield base ship. The info I gave you should help you find it or at least point you in the right direction. The alternative which I'll do a video on soon is to find a mission board and try get a mission where you need to destroy some ecliptic ships. Thats a sure way to find some claymores as well. I'm level 97, Level 4 Piloting, and I STILL cannot steal one of these when I come across them. I keep getting the message of not authorized to pilot even after killing everyone on and around the ship. If anyone can help, what am I missing?
Unfortunately your not doing anything wrong but these are bounty ships your trying to take and they are considered dead ship which cannot be taken without console commands. On occasions you will find normal Claymore ships you can kill the crew and steal.

Remove your Wanted trait! You can drop that in neon, I think it is. Google that. Then when you do see these ships, you can steal them.
I had one and somehow it's gone from my ship list....
