Major crash shuts down I-75 SB on Northside Drive and Howell Mill Road

One person was killed and six others were injured in a crash that has shut down all southbound lanes of I-75 in Atlanta for several hours.

Those were utility company bucket trucks. They weigh 8000 to 10000 pounds each. The road will be closed for house due to the immediate investigation because of the deaths. The men who come here to help with storm cleanup and repair do not deserve this.

The beds on them weight that much. An empty school bus weighs 18000 lbs. A full sleeper road tractor weighs 18000 lbs. Just a bare chassi, before they put the boom or bed on them weight 10-12,000 lbs. My Ford F350 4x4 crew cab weighed 9000 lbs, and it isn't half the truck of a medium duty Freightliner. I think you need to up your estimation. If I was guessing? It would be a lot closer to 30,000.
