    Actually a really well done video :D You got a potential for a bigger channel, Mr Life!
    Only quibble is in the hill climb the Bronco got more speed, while the jeep was restricted to as slow a crawl as possible, and that ledge looked like the kind you had to bump with a little speed. Done stuff like that 1000x and thats what it felt like to me.
    But you got serious potential! And best wishes on your recovery!
    As a jeep owner, I will say the Bronco, while it has some teething issues to sort out, is a beast. AND I hope the competition forces jeep to drop costs. Competition is a good thing for us buyers, and I sure wont rag anyone who owns a bronco. I am and remain a big fan of jeeps, for my part.

I have a 4-door Bronco Badlands with the 7MT on order, very excited for that crawler gear! I don't have anything against Jeep and this will be the Ford I've owned: the short of it is better technology/functionality for everyday use and the Bronco looks way better.

    Am I the only one that thinks the jeep is now in 2nd place? it looks like the driver of the bronco took more difficult lines every time yeah the results were the same or better for the bronco. The independent front suspension that rides and handle so nice on the road, looks like it does quite well off road as well. I really love the way Ford designed the axle disconnect.Just my opinion I think we have a new leader.

  • @MrNismopro
    @MrNismopro 2 года назад +5

    You have to remember, Ford specifically designed the Bronco to beat the Jeep in every aspect. The good thing is that the Jeep brought the competitiveness approach from Ford. I think if Jeep makes a slight revision to the suspension and choice of factory installed tires they will even up again. What I do give Jeep a good credit for is dropping the diesel in the JL. IFS does have limitations once you get into modification. Example: lifted or not the "pucker factor" on shelf trails give IFS a tendency to teeter much more than the planted solids. I've seen two lifted new generation Broncos now and both have switched to solids. The higher you lift an IFS system, the more unstable it gets. Also worth noting that if it wasn't for Ford we wouldn't have a 392 Jeep. Thank you Ford!

If I was to just go wheeling with what I had out of the box the bronco is the better option but if I were to look into some serious rock crawling I would go with the Jeep because the solid axels and the upgrade ability of it.

    Thank you for the video, this is a very good unbiased comparison of the two vehicles. I believe the Bronco looked better at what they did, it struggled less in several of the tests. Many say the Bronco IFS will hold it back from the Jeep; that will not be the case with the stock Rubicon and the stock Badlands. Both vehicles will have many aftermarket upgrades to enhance their abilities. The Jeep isn't going anywhere that the Bronco won't go.

    The Bronco Raptor is a step up again from these two. Unless you have a highly modified Jeep the Bronc's are great all round. On and off road. Traction control seems better on the Ford where the Jeep struggles and depends on the locker. Still a tough choice, depending on what you want to do or where you want to go.

  • @Databyter
    @Databyter 2 года назад +1

    You didn't mention the Jeep having an auto transmission. I am assuming therefore that it was also a manual? Also, just wondering in general how the crawl would be with auto on the Bronco. Unfortunately they only offer the 7 speed in specific configurations like the 2.3 motor (which I hear is plenty). But also with the 7 speed you do lose several of the tricks the Bronco can do, like tight turning, one pedal control, and for some types of offroading an auto offers more control and safety (like steep inclines with off camber angles. You don't want to lose a clutch or stall). Personally I want the 7 speed for fun factor, but I have to recognize what I am losing, more power, more control, and software assist. One wonders how low the auto crawl is as well. They say that under load the crawl is effectively more than it is on paper because RPM's are loading up in the torque converter, but going downhill on idle it is closer to spec. Databyter

    I've been daily driving and hardcore offroading a Jk on 37s and 4'' lift for four years now, and while i know is the best vehicle for going offroad, i've had some serious reliability issues with my jeep. And that alone hinges my confidence on what trails and challenges to take with it. I have not driven a Bronco yet... but if ford can be more reliable in terms of heating, engine, waterfording and electricity overall... then i would swap to a Bronco with out hesitation.

      @@SMoore-vj7bt Well, not going to lie, you do have a point. To summarize; i dont doubt that the JL is a better built and more reliable vehicle than any JK, but i do doubt, after having driven the previous 2 models that i wont find again problems driving a JL after a few miles or few river crossings. Either way, the fact that the bronco exists, puts jeep in a difficult spot, and i am sure that the next wrangler would be something to take more seriously.

    Is that AOAA?
    Only thing is I don’t get comparos of trail features with the offroad goodies off. All you do is spin like mad and damage the trails. And in certain scenarios create a dangerous situation. You should have em on and your rig set up properly before you hit the feature. So that’s really what matters to me. Skipped a lot of parts of the vid that to me are irrelevant cause I would never offroad like that.

      @4WDisLife  2 года назад

      i get what you are saying, thank you for the compliment and feedback. The main reason we are doing the not locked comparison is to show how each vehicles electronic traction control works so people who owns Sahara and non locked model bronco would also find it relatable.

      @@4WDisLife i know. It’s a good vid. I’m just seeing more and more drivers driving like this out on trails that, as a result, are getting more eroded and washed out. We already have a lot of people that don’t want us out there, and many of them are in positions of power over public lands access. The more we erode and damage the trails the more likely we are to lose our access. Forest Service is currently rezoning the public forest land that Black Bear Pass and many other CO trails are on and our future access could be limited or curtailed all together. As there are a lot of people new to offroading starting in the sport, maybe channels like yours can talk about how to do it properly, and how this is for demonstration purposes but you shouldn’t do it if you don’t have to. And for those that don’t have equipment like lockers, they should choose a different line.
