- The Magic 2 has seen continual buffs to its performance since its introduction. Now, it just got a VERY hefty increase to its maneuverability, with the possibility of more in the future as well.

So cool, gaijin only takes 3 years to give french vehicle and missiles their "full" capacity, and they only come out with 30% of their capacity incredible

At least if they give the Magic 2 the Roll to Pull buffs, the AAM-3 SHOULD also receive them as it does have the same tech in it. I don't know what it increases the pull to, probably 55-60G's but, the bigger issue holding that missile back is the fin AOA buff the Magic just got.
Also the leclerc has the 5 sec autoloader now

The reason gaijin didn't make the French missile "accurate" is because it would've completely broken top tier at that time and I realized this with the Phoenix. So they will most likely give the AAM3 some love once the AIM-9x (block1) is out.

I love the French missiles. Especially the super 530D and magic 2 .the super 530D is the only Rader missile that gets Me constant kills compared to the the aim7
Man, I loved the 530D; much better than the Sparrow. That, however, is before the auto-radar change. I've always switched from PD to regular SCR (non-PD radar) after firing the 530 D; it made the 530 act like an R-24; chaff and notching didn't matter.
In my experience, the 530 D is much less effective after the auto-radar change; same with the Sparrow. My god do I hate this auto-radar; I hope Gajin allows us to turn it off.
There is also another report from 6 month ago, from the same guy, about the Magic 2 IRCCM that was explaining the same thing (the new report was kind of a reminder) but was also explaining that, if i understand right, it should also blink when it see a flare, like a 9M, on top of the FoV reduction.
Well its IRCCM is better irl and more complex than it is in wt but it can’t shut off its seeker like 9M. And that’s obvious cause if it could do that then with 0.75(not even 0.43) deg FoV it wouldnt be able to lock on target again, that’s why 9M for instance has HUGE FoV - just to be able to find the target after turning its seeker on again
Honestly, if the Magic-2 gets the roll-pull buff and the seeker buff, it's going to be the scariest thing in close-in fights that aren't already in spitting distance when paired with M2K-5F's HMD. Only thing that could potentially be scarier would be a properly modeled and fully un-nerfed AAM-3 or god forbid Python-4 (since it's in the files and all). When everyone gets their HOBS missiles, and if said missiles are properly modeled, the furball will just be too risky. You will simply not have enough situational awareness to avoid all the 40G+ IRCCM TV missiles slaved with HMD within 4km of you.

Not really magics won’t be scarier than 60G r73s and man I sure hope gaijin fixes r73 flat spinning like crazy at low speed shots
Only problem i have with it is any buffs it gets to compete at 12.3/12.7 as a competent ir missile also apply to it at 11.0 on the event Jag or the 11.3 Mirage F1 Premiums

A little know thing they did a little while back that not many know is that they gave the 530f it’s eccm, so it has chaff rejection and it works similar to the aim 9m. It’s actually a quite useable missile now. It doesn’t say it on the stat card for some reason.

i do wonder if gaijin will eventually add the magic 2 mk2 which would have extended range due to better guidance
3:01 funnily enough, superTEMP on the tornado are fucking fire, immediately start pulling, great acceleration, only counter is flying below 20m or counter the radar going "cold" and has good explosive mass. I usually manage 2-3 kills average with it on the tornado F3.
im happy that i have acess to two planes with magic 2s and the missiles just keep getting better whichll help me work my way thru the low/mid tier baguette jets

Does the 530D lift ingame already ? otherwise maybe with the introduction of more fox 3s, it will get its proper behavior too

So is the R-27T kinda trash compared these new IRCCM missiles? I've only used it a few times but I've been a lot less successful than with Magic 2s and I thought it had the same type of gatewidth IRCCM, maybe I'm just not using it quite right?
its gatewidth fov is twice the size of r73 and magic 2 (1.3something degrees instead of 0.75) so it could still spot a flare
It has better rangeband ratios for rear aspect resistance but a bigger FOV. Essentially it means it's less sensistive to flares but can see more of them. It's generally more difficult to flare straight rear aspect but easier at close range and side or front aspect.
It’s great for sniping. No warning with the range of a 27 and gets more flare resistant the closer it gets
Don’t worry we just need a 1990s r27et mk80 it will be on par or better than most missiles. Till we get stuff with infrared imaging (aim9x etc) I think gaijin will realise this with mica ir

I don’t think it will , a lot of missiles are missing dual plane maneuverability. R73 is 60Gs in dual plane

...there a reason why they made radar auto switch? Seems to generally be a nuisance for everyone. Make notching and chaffing better since that's when it switches I guess?

No, no it isn't. Compared to the 7m its stupid. Ive grinded the french tree and use these constantly, they are flared from any angle except behind. But you have to get within 2km. They are terrible and most of my kills come from the matra radar missiles.
