My guy gets it. I had a top notch rockford Fosgate system on my street glide. My street glide had all the bells and whistles. I went in to get a road glide last month. I make decent money and can afford it, but I couldn’t justify buying a motorcycle that costs almost as much as a new pick up payment. Instead I went with simplicity. I found a heritage 114. It has a beautiful paint job, less than 6000 miles on it, a new tuner, cammed out, 18 inch apes that are wide, saddleman seat, led lights all around. The one thing that was important to me. Wasn’t all that stuff. It was the cruise control.😂
Softails for me. They are real bikes. Baggers are great for older people because they handle way easier. And Softails with a cam, air, and exhaust upgrade you have a great bike. But the power to weight of a half ton bagger make you spent thousands more, for a few numbers and this is where the term bigger is better, is not at all. Again, baggers for the elderly, or for whoever likes their popular style and handling that makes them great beginners bikes, if it wasn’t for their cost.
Ok. You can hop on a bobber and ride from Atlanta to Daytona for Biketoberfest and when you get there, you better stop first at a chiropractor. If you ride a bagger, not only will you ride in style with music, you’ll also frolic into the closest bar you can find when you get there for an all night binge. Choose wisely my friends
I ride a 2020 slim and its BAD TO DA BONE! Ive owned 2 baggers and i loved them. However, at 55 and my wife no longer riding with me i wanted something smaller and more nimbe. I installed stage 2 cam , 2into one exhaust and 16" apes! ITS A BLAST!
Harley had turned into another yuppie fashion statement. Too flashy and not enough grit. No more ratty bobbers. Now its Overpriced mall clothes and parts. It’s a dying culture.
Amen to that!!! All the bad asses in the 60’s 70’s 80’s and even in the 90’s didn’t need a bagger to ride across country! They were riding stripped down bikes and choppers! lol and those dudes didn’t just bar hop they actually put miles on. Almost every dude I know with a bagger only goes about 100 miles each way lol meanwhile me and my boys with dynas and FXR’s are putting on serious miles and treating them like dirt bikes in the city 🤣 baggers are basically a fashion statement these days lol
Feel like I mostly see baggers now. Truth be told, I’m okay with it- makes you feel like a real rider amongst dentists and whatever other jobs can afford flagship model baggers
@@chrisquas4113 grow a money tree and get a comfortable bike. I use to do high speeds on my breakout and that was a lot better than a bob. Street bobs suck.
If I had to do it all over I'd get an Evolution and be done with it. Practically unbreakable, carburetor, no electrical garbage. What else do you need?
How things change. When I bought my 1999 Heritage new, nobody had a bagger. I have a first place trophy because I was the only bagger entry

The street bob in Indian Yellow with a 114 is the next bike. Fell in love with it at the dealer, couldn't swing it. Now though.....

@paulfiore7083 I have an Evo Forty Eight and love it for in city, but I'd like something with a 6th gear for highway or longer rides
