You might want to try charcoal briquettes for the moldy, musty smell. Place them inside the cabinet, in a box, & close it up. The briquettes absorbs the smells & any moisture. Set the used briquettes in the sunshine for several hours, & they can be used again. White vinegar & water will remove the mold, just don't soak the wood. Murphy's oil soap works wonders on old furniture & really brings back the former, lovely patina. You've done very well here, Taco! Congratulations

Taco, Nice finds today. Craftsman hand tool lifetime warranty is still honored by Lowe’s, Ace Hardware and other places that sell them since Sears is gone. My late grandpa (born 1899) referred to mouse droppings as “watch out for black rice” in growing up in the days before advanced food preservation. I remember Renee saying that she understands German. Take care, B

Always research old crockery. My parents collections, mainly bought at flea markets, sold for a fortune at an antiques auction. One large, cracked and repaired cheese dish, sold for enough that it paid for rewiring the house to get it up to code for sale.

AWSOME find!! Congrats on 244k viewers!! The “cloth bag on a hanger filled with clothes pins” is from the 40’s, 50’s, or 60’s and maybe 70’s!! My Mother had one hanging on her clothes lines for at least the 1st 10+ years of my life in Lakewood CA! When we moved to Charlotte, NC, she wanted nothing to do with a clothesline! A drier was on her list of MUST HAVES!! I do so enjoy the excitement you bring to “unboxings”!! Keep on going! How’s your friend who went for an interview as a youth pastor? Haven’t seen him in awhile and wonder if he got the position!!! If you’re not comfortable sharing that here, please let him know that I’ve had him pr🙏yer!!!☺️👏🎉

Hi. The large plates you are wondering about are not plates. They are trays made in Germany, possibly before WWII. Hand painted on porcelain. Seems you have a nice collection of vintage porcelain, My advice: have it appraised for sale on Etsy - not a flea market merchandise!!! Good luck’.

Yep, the cherry plates likely had a metal rim and handles, at one time. All the porcelain I've seen deserves to be appraised before you do anything with it. I believe your hedgehog plate is a studio art piece. The artist's mark is "GV". Great buy, TS!

To use the magnetic record cleaner, you put your record on play on the player and you gently hold the cleaning brush on the record as it
goes around in the play mode and it brushes out the dust etc from the grooves. Possibly that bag with the clothes pins is one designed to hook
onto a clothes line outside and you can slide the bag along on the line as you hang out laundry to dry. Growing up we didn't have a dryer, so my
mother had to hang everything outside on the line to dry. You did MAJOR good in the unit! Congratulations!!

Oh & the swif army knife, is good & not a pc. of junk, either. The kitchen towels, that where used to wrap the dishes etc. are old & collectable. If you look them up you will see what I mean. The merchadise, in that storage unit, is older. (This is your week for, BOOKS) That toaster is classic. Some of the cards could be sold for say, .10 - .25 ea. or do sml. bundles, for $1.00 or more. What a pleasent locker, buy!!! The prince phone, collectable, hopefully it works. There getting harder to find. the leather sandels look like there european. Hey Taco. YOU WERE DUE FOR SOME GOLD!!! Gold is @ $1950 per ounce so you can make some decent money off even small amounts. So happy for you! Some pins can be gold too----especially the work service/anniversary pins. Here's the unrequested advice---just in case: Do not take it to those "We buy gold" places if you plan to scrap it. They only pay around 50% of what it's worth, and you should TRY to get @ 75-90% of value. (I don't know if that is possible in your area.) Calculation is : (# grams the item weighs/31.1 grams in a troy ounce) x .5833 (if 14K) x $1950 (or current gold price) x % of spot price that the business/person pays. So, if the item is 14K and weighs 5 grams: 5/31.1= .1608 x .5833 x $1950 x 85%=$155 . Good luck!!!!

      Is O-3 ozone?

    • @darkwing4475
      @darkwing4475 3 года назад

@@davidho2977 Ozone (/ˈoʊzoʊn/), or trioxygen, is an inorganic molecule with the chemical formula O
      3. It is a pale blue gas with a distinctively pungent smell. It is an allotrope of oxygen that is much less stable than the diatomic allotrope O
2, breaking down in the lower atmosphere to O
2 (dioxygen). Ozone is formed from dioxygen by the action of ultraviolet (UV) light and electrical discharges within the Earth's atmosphere. It is present in very low concentrations throughout the latter, with its highest concentration high in the ozone layer of the stratosphere, which absorbs most of the Sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
Ozone's odour is reminiscent of chlorine, and detectable by many people at concentrations of as little as 0.1 ppm in air. Ozone's O3 structure was determined in 1865. The molecule was later proven to have a bent structure and to be weakly paramagnetic. In standard conditions, ozone is a pale blue gas that condenses at progressively cryogenic temperatures to a dark blue liquid and finally a violet-black solid. Ozone's instability with regard to more common dioxygen is such that both concentrated gas and liquid ozone may decompose explosively at elevated temperatures or fast warming to the boiling point.[5] It is therefore used commercially only in low concentrations.
Ozone is a powerful oxidant (far more so than dioxygen) and has many industrial and consumer applications related to oxidation. This same high oxidizing potential, however, causes ozone to damage mucous and respiratory tissues in animals, and also tissues in plants, above concentrations of about 0.1 ppm. While this makes ozone a potent respiratory hazard and pollutant near ground level, a higher concentration in the ozone layer (from two to eight ppm) is beneficial, preventing damaging UV light from reaching the Earth's surface

Don't sell the rings for gold. They look like they might have a higher worth. You should ask a jeweler.

I think the plates with the cherries on them are used like trivets or placemats for keeping hot dishes off the table top. In the older days, people used to warm their dishes before putting their food on them...maybe it is just a European thing. Nice finds Taco

The plate with the cherries is a style of painting called theorem. It could be used as platter or tray but were usually hung on the wall as decor.

Somebody's life compressed into the confines of a storage locker. Sad. This is not the ordinary junk usually found in those lockers. Potentially valuable personal treasures including probably family heirloom jewelry. Person probably passed with no family left to care, to pay the rent or take the items. At least a hard working guy like Taco can repurpose these lovely things so others can enjoy them, instead rotting away hidden in storage and make a little money for his troubles.

Here's what they mean on those couple words on the boxes. Doilies are paper lace mats put on table tops under glasses of juice or under desserts. They are fancy place mats, if you will. Capp. cups are cappuccino cups. It makes me happy to see you get the truly profitable lockers like this. There's a few things in there I actually need myself. Awesome!

Old wedding rings and signet ring it looks like (a bit sad esp. if you think someone had to have theirs cut off). A shame about the mice trails and mould. I did really like the old fashioned close-pin bag. That looked like a 1950s piece. I remember using a record cleaner like the magnetic one you had. You left the record spinning on your HiFi and held the brush lightly in one spot as the record revolved and was dusted, kept the needle clean. Good video, nice suspense even if the last box held houseware and tools. Thanks Taco.
