I saw the one before where people were giving you a hard time for not “trying” to find who all that stuff went to and try to get their personal effects back to them. If they wanted their personal effects they should have emptied the locker before they decided to stop paying for it. They do have that option.
Nice finds in this locker. $5 was a great buy.

@@chrislacy4185 we buy storage units. We leave their personal effects in the locker and the facility is then burdened with reaching out to them. We just purchased 12 lockers today for $395.
It's not his responsibility to find the owners, If they were worried about their personal items they should have gotten them.
It seems like people always have the answers when they're hiding behind a fictitious RUclips handle.

USE CARBORD BOXES, BROKEN DOWN, TO SLIDE FURNITURE AROUND... ESPECIALLY WOOD ON WOOD... THERE MIGHT BE A BEAUTIFUL PIECE THAT WOULD BE SAVED FROM SCRATCHES... AND IT SLIDES AROUND EASIER THAT WAY, TOO 👍👍👍👍

Waxed paper cartons work, too, like pizza, frozen dinner boxes.
I use moving blankets when I can.
One can place item on blanket and pull the blanket to drag item around, up/down stairs also ;)

The furniture piece at the end / console table actually looked like it might be good quality but someone had painted it black and silver to match their decor. I kinda liked it. Paint it white, distress it, and you could easily sell it for $150 at the flea market. Give it to your furniture friends.

If you find glasses that are in good shape you can donate them to the lions eye bank, or a local vision center might have a drop box. Benefits those who can afford prescription.
At one time, Dunkin Donuts collected them.
You can get glasses pretty cheap now days. If you go to the eye doctor and get your prescription, you can buy them online. I use zenni optical. I can get a set of glasses with the lenses for as cheap as 5 dollars and they’ll have a much bigger selection than a eye doctors office who will only have a small selection for Medicade and fedelis customers. I ended up paying 35 dollars for 2 sets of eye glasses. They do take about 3 weeks to arrive since they only ship first class usps. And you do have to measure the width between your pupils. They fit just as good as if they were fitted at the doctors office.

So easy to find replacement cords for the electric fry pan. The print from Kmart is unique, the artist paints things in the picture that would be out of place and out of time. For instance, you would never have the 4 people in the picture in the same room at the same time. Elvis, Marilyn, James Dean...etc. there might be a laptop in the picture, not even invented till after Marilyn was dead.

@ 9:20 Those are the feet/legs for the couches. You often have to take them off to fit a sofa through a door. So they left them off until they moved into another home and could get their stuff out of storage. That's why there's a screw driver and screws in the bags as well. It's to reattach the legs.

Lots of nice finds from which you will probably make a good profit from, Taco! You should probably keep the heating pad for yourself.
Those toy cars in the first box were your money back and then some. That cane is technically a walking stick - no hook/handle. just a knob; it's got biker written all over the design. The wire to that frying pan was in the bag of cords; it ought to be with the pan, but people do weird things. The Texaco truck bank - check underneath for something that may open with a key; double-checked that model on line; there's a keyhole in the bottom. The picture is Elvis, Marilyn and James Dean. And just to run on some more, probably preaching to the choir, but check the couches for loose change. You might even find enough to pay for the locker.

I've worked in nursing homes and long term care places all over SC, and NC family members dump the love one belongings in storage and forget about using the money to pay their bill and end up losing everything. They would just keep the money instead of paying the storage .it's so sad to see. I've watched this happen too often ,so sad.
They really would be better off having an estate sale in most cases, but when you have the stress of deciding what to do with a loved one, you might make quick decisions that aren't so well thought out.
There is old worthless furniture and junk worth maybe $50. It is much smarter to walk away than lose $500 to store garbage. If they needed any of it, they would not have put it in storage in the first place.
If you move into a smaller place you do need to put stuff into storage

The curtain rods slide together the spiral things are the ends. The brown triangle things in the bag were to the couch bottom to raise it off the floor.
We have the same Texaco money truck. Every year we put a penny in it on Christmas day. A tradition my dad started years before his death.

So basically they got paid $5 for you to clean it out for them. I tend to believe they go through them a little to recover some of their losses.
Not as a rule, we run a storage and we want to get as much as we can for the unit there has to be good stuff to get interest. Once you have been in the business long enough you don't want any of the stuff and trying to sell it is a pain. And I would much rather not have to clean the unit out as you say, for sure. And make the most on the sale of the unit.

If you don’t sell the animal carriers, most local humane societies and animal shelters will take them. The light up bar print was so expensive because it had Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, James Dean, and Bogart on it. They need to cover licensing fees. Consider trying Facebook Market Place instead of the flea.

Thrift stores will take anything you don't want. But if I may make a suggestion to anyone who has unwanted items that are reusable, see if you can find a domestic violence shelter or any other kind of family shelters. A lot of times them women &/or men leave their Very bad situation & they have nothing to start over with & most of the time they have children. Nothing against thrift stores, I love thrifting but A lot of times the thrift stores over charge the public. I've seen things from $ Trees being resold in thrift stores for $2-$3's. I get it that $ goes back into helping less fortunate but they get their things for free but come on, they act like they're retail stores for A lot of their furniture, shoes, clothes, etc...

I was hospitalized and then stuck in nursing homes and group homes after I was paralyzed due to Guillian barre syndrome, lost my storage unit because of that and all my stuff

Those square pillows goes on one of those couches! Please donate the couches and anything you don't want, even hangers! There's a LOT of people who cannot afford to buy things anymore, the prices in stores have went up by about 25%!!! Nice unit👍
So my questions would be: 1 - How do you find out where those abandoned lockers are? 2- How do you buy them? And 3 - Where can you sell that clutter stuff to make money off of it? I think I would be donating to thrift stores to get rid of the excess stuff. But you got some great furniture and a few other things for $5! Can't beat that with a stick.
