I agree, keep these wonderful pieces George, it's not the money value...rather it's the heart and soul that went into making each piece. If you don't want them, gift the pieces to family and friends. By the way a lot of Native American jewelry before 1968 are not marked, but are genuine silver and turquoise.

Dismissing lots of semi-precious stones like coral, garnet, jade, turquois and strands of pearl because you can’t see gold or silver marks. You need jewelers loupes.
A little tip from the trade, if you don't already know, is: with tangled chain lay it on a flat surface and gradually tease the chain apart using two pins or sewing needles - have patience because it does work.
You seriously need to take a gemstone class. There is so much real coral, turquoise, amber, jet... and real pearls in there. Gemstones and coral... are Not costume. Plastic and glass are. Most of these are valuable.

Coral is a very expensive gem, and you just dismissed it as costume jewelry. You've also insisted that Amber is Bakelite. You guys need a jeweler connection. It's an old coin made into a Salt spoon from before we used shakers.
Remember the gentleman was in the Navy. It was not uncommon for the military personnel to buy multiple strands of pearls while stationed in Japan. The prices were supposed to be high but nothing like in the States. Wonderful finds!
Japanese pearls are a good thing, Trifari good costume, hair comb...baroque pearls, orange...natural coral, a whole box of amber...big bucks, Taxco real and worth a good amount. You hit the jackpot
You need to invest in a book about vintage costume jewelry. I saw names of some wonderful designers, and many of the pieces you discarded are so valuable to collectors. Many said already that the orange pieces are coral, not costume. Darned, I would have loved to be there to help you identify. Some of the older, filigree pieces that look like 925, but not marked are probably base metal rhodium plate. That last 14K bow brooch that George opened it gorgeous! Has it sold yet? If not, I’d love to buy it. Last, please treat all these pieces with respect. Even costume. Even pieces that you don’t think are pretty. This was someone’s beloved collection. Please respect the person who owned these and how these were part of her life’s story. Thanks ❤️
Great finds. You two are a great couple and very entertaining. I sold fine and costume jewelry for 10 yrs. and never get tired of looking at beautiful pieces. Thanks for the video.
Looks like Indian jewetry, look for signatures on the back. The coral beads are made from real coral. A lot of vintage stuff, have it checked. The key goes to the box! The silverware could have sets, check patterns to see if they match. The short ones are for babies and toddlers. Cool stuff!
Looks like some coral, Pearl's and I believe some carnelian and other semi precious stones......please get the whole lot appraised before melting it down or ruining any of it. You just may be sitting on several hundred dollars of jewelry
There’s so much to say! I am a collector and am certified jewelry professional. I would have so much fun going through this stuff. There’s many expensive non “intrinsic” valuables there!! I will say one thing. The bracelet that she had with a reddish pink gem in the middle almost certainly is a ruby!! If it’s from Burma (as I suspect) it’s worth money!!
If y’all are going to do a jewelry haul you need a magnifying glass or jewelers loope and a magnet. One of you needs to put on HIS glasses and learn to count.
Those pearls need to be appraised, Japan is one of the largest producers of Akoyo Pearls. Do Your Research!! Don't ever push jewelry aside, especially jewelry with age.
Beads are sometimes made of precious stone, or garnet, jade, onyx etc. They can be worth a few bucks. You should have a jeweler with you to give an idea.
The Spanish conquistadors melted priceless gold statues into gold bars. The spoons are worth alot as is .....not smelted. These lovely Real coral, old bakelite and everything in that old jewelry box is worth SO Much money. You really need to research your ideas of What costume jewelry really means. That jewelry box (excluding the heart cuff) is worth at least $800.00 and up on Etsy. The bracelet with the pin closure is worth about $300.00 or more on Ruby Lane.....there are Victorian pieces too. Those "butt pinchers" are used to hold escargot shells. That vintage piece is from the 1930's to 1950'. Don't melt any of that down...please. You guys have a gold mine with this stuff. I love your videos. Please don't take this advice wrong. Just remember....gold mine.
The Japanese pearls are worth a lot of money ,not just pearl some of the best and they are beautifully strung ..A lot of the brooches are vintage and believe it or not they sell very good on eBay ..I used to collect ones with paste stones in and I sold a lot of mine on there when I down sized homes.A lot of the costume jewellery was not junk jewellery most was semi precious stones and they are beautifully made too ,so they will sell well ..Enjoyed the video you bounced of each other and was funny 😀
Why do you not have the gold testers and loops and diamond testers? It would be worth your money. Most Western states Indians earlier did not stamp their items. His first two pieces were nice turquoise’s. They vary in price depending in the mines the stones are from.
Plus there are different types and grades of turquoise that range in price with high end really wonderful stuff and good lower end. I've never met a piece of turquoise I didn't like. Oh and the any of the pieces with turquoise are mounted on silver. Or that has been my experience.
I believe those hair brushes are reeeeeeeeeally expensive.....i saw brad mondo talk about them on one of his recent videos as they r the most expensive hair brushes!!!!!

I’m certain that, by now, you realise that VC is very popular, collectible, and can be worth big money to the right collector. I’m probably ‘that collector.’ Stay safe!
The two copper bracelets look like Renoir, really nice pieces, and the filigree silver is Peruzzi style, old 800 silver, it's the long neckchain and tassle, and it has has genuine coral and turquoise with other gems too....it's realllly good money. The transparent orange rectangular beads are likely Amber, not Bakelite. The silver rings at the very beginning are likely Navajo and will be Sterling, but not marked. This was a treasure trove.
There are coral chips and beads, amber beads in different colours, lots of gem stones (polished and cut rocks & minerals) are used in plated and nickle metals. There is a lot to have appraised!!
That bag of Rogers Brothers isn't really worth anything, it's not terribly old, the date is just their patent date for plating silverware. Also, apparently their patterns aren't particularly interesting to collectors either. I saw a 100 piece set that went for $75.
Since the 1920s, Trifari has been one of the most respected and admired producers of costume jewelry in the United States. Founded in the 1910s by Gustavo Trifari, the Italian-immigrant son of a Napoli goldsmith, the company has designed jewelry that’s been worn by countless high-profile clients, from Mamie Eisenhower to Madonna. Trifari partnered with sales managers Leo Krussman and Carl Fishel to form Trifari, Krussman and Fishel in 1925, the brand commonly known as “Trifari” today. Authentic Trifari jewelry is typically marked with "Jewels by Trifari," "TKF" (for Trifari, Krussman & Fishel), or "Trifari," depending on when it was made. Just to mention about those 3 brushes you found in the box, if they are Mason, those brushes are worth a lot. A good Mason is usually 50 dollars a piece, depending on the size. So never just say it's only a brush, for they are worth their weight in gold too.
The orange is coral. They may be large costume sets made by Trifari, which would be vintage by now. The butterfly is cloisonne. Many of the colored stones on the combs are shell and Mabe pearl. The copper is not brass. Copper is very valuable these days. The key belongs to the jewelry box. Square Egyptian amber
