“Throwing body shots like he’s Rocky Balboa, going upstairs like he’s Apollo Creed!” Fucking chills everytime!
"because you're a creed" and seeing his dad when he's KO'd. Absolute fireball of a climax
Which is funny because his mom told him that she was carrying his father up the stairs
Fcking facts!!
Max Kellerman ftw
Yea thanks stenographer we watched it
When he gets up after the image of his father like he was possessed i got chillis
Same bruh lmaooo
Kenny Cherry
Me too
That seemed perfect for a Gatorade commercial
Buster Douglas saw his mom......
The announcers even said
Also, Mary is the underrated hero of the film/franchise. Taking on her husband's illegitimate son he fathered by cheating on her because he has no-one else? That's fucking heart right there.
I taught he was her real son lol
Rocky also has his "silent" hero: Adrien, always picked him up when he felt incapable. I think Adrien's role in the original series is highly underrated. Personally, I think it's a pretty well done detail by Stallone.
Facts
Do not forget Stich and the neck taps!!
True
Cannot gush more about how PERFECT the timing is when Coogler finally let the Rocky theme go in the movie. You think we’d get it during the classic montage, but he holds it for now. 12th round, all or nothing on the line, and the horns of a champion sound in the deep.
Bang on. I was getting irritated that they didnt play the classic ionic theme during the training. I gave up, thinking it's a full blown reboot for the soundtrack. But when this hit... Oh it hit all sorts of feelings. Perfect. Saved for the best.
It was perfect. It's also more or less a sign of the official passing of the torch because Adonis gets Rocky's theme. Perfect.
It's sort similar to what they did with Daniel Craig's first outing as James Bond in Casino Royale. They didn't play the James Bond theme until end of the movie. It's like he had earned that theme. Just like this Creed movie.
When they finally played the song, people in the theater stood and applauded. Still gives me chills.
One of those rare movie moments that makes me yell, "FUCK YEAH!" Every. Time.
R.I.P Carl Weathers.
Literally thought of that moment when I heard the news
The shot of his dad and rocky fighting at 3:12 always gave me chills
It’s as if Apollo was speaking to Donnie. Telling him “Boy, I know you ain’t done yet. Get up!”
It's a beautiful insert, and it says it all: legacy. Lineage. Blood. Unspoken blood passed down.
With his classic smile and swagger, too.
And it isn't cheap nostalgia bait. It's because at that moment, both the character and the movie had earned the right to use that music.
Yup. It's like watching a ghost. Scary and rousing and brief enough that you wonder if you really saw it at all.
Opening paragraph of the NYT review said it all: “At a recent screening of “Creed,” as the familiar fanfare of Bill Conti’s beloved “Rocky” score signaled the start of the final round of the big fight, the audience burst into spontaneous applause. This was no sneak-preview crowd, primed with free admission and popcorn, but a room full of critics and journalists armored in professional skepticism. A cynic might say that the cheering was a Pavlovian reflex set off by a piece of commercial entertainment in the hands of a skilled, manipulative director. This cynic, however, was too busy choking up and clapping to form the thought.”
Just shows how something can be so iconic that it makes anyone cheer.
@@fastbandit1853 The movie executed it perfectly. You can imagine a really awful version of Creed in which Adonis and Rocky never form a good connection, and then you end up not caring about Adonis. The Rocky theme kicks in and you roll your eyes because it ends up feeling forced because none of the emotional beats have hit.
I have no idea what any of that means

"... I know you are, because you're a Creed and I love ya kid."
I'm a grown man but that made me tear up when Rocky said that.
I did too bro. I did too
@MUFC ???????
It is similar Mikey s words. I love you kid....
Love how he says I love you too
💯
5:17, we all got up and started cheering in the theater
Yep
Okay wait, what’s the song?
Haykal Mukhriz the beginning of Gonna Fly Now. This version is called “You’re a Creed”
I screamed but in my room
I cheered
when i first watched this movie, i was 14 years old and was in rehab for drug abuse, just going through an absolutely awful time in my life. when adonis said "i have to prove it... that im not a mistake", that hit me and the rest of the kids like a truck. we were all in that same mindset, of feeling like we had to prove to everyone around us that we meant something. when he knocked ricky down onto the ground, all of us boys jumped out of our seats and screamed so loud that we had staff members asking us what we were doing the next morning. the worker who let us watch this movie on that night knew exactly what he was doing when he decided to let us watch this. the camaraderie that i felt with the kids next to me in that moment is something i'll never forget.
im now 22 years old, am clean off drugs and i start a new job tomorrow morning. i proved that im not a mistake, and this movie and it's message will always stick with me.
Haha
that's awesome I'm glad you're doing better ❤
Good for you. I hope life is treating you well
Good for you brother 💪
Great story, hope all is still well with you!
The only part that made me tear up was when he said "I gotta prove it" Prove what? "That I'm not a mistake" i relate to that line
oh do you now
Pops did the dash and had 11 other kids? Many such cases
I did too.
Yeah man, me too. I felt pretty vulnerable the first time I heard it. Hit super close to home. Me parents had me when they were teens. My Dad initially didn't want me, and my Mom was a drunk. CPS took me away and gave me to my Grandparents. Even till this day, at 40 years old, I fight to prove my worth. It's like a hole that never fills, and like Adonis, I attempt it through my work.
Non of my grandfather's kids are full blooded, all half siblings. But my grandmother raised my father's half siblings with him because she saw how close he was to them despite my grandfather not lifting one damn finger to help. Doesn't matter if it's mother or father a true parents love is POWERFUL
That Apollo cut gave me chills and made my tear up a bit… it was almost as if Adonis dug deep into his memories and conjured up the spirit of Apollo to wake him up.
Yes
Dude please stop talking shit the movie was absolutely garbage. You seems to think there's a connection between appolo and that wannabe. That's so sad. There's no link between that trash character and Apollo exception the one the screenwriter decided.
Throwing body shots like his rocky balboa. Going upstairs like his Apollo creed.
Amazing line
@MUFC ...What the hell was that?
@@mateomontoya5143 it's true. Poor people can play soccer a lot easier than most other sports.
@MUFC yeah well....I hope it doesn't happen. Never seen boxing fans killing each other or trashing cities just because their favourite boxer lost a fight.

"Prove what?"
"I'm not a mistake."
Shit I felt that line.

Can't believe Stalone didn't get an oscar for this performance
I can’t believe that Michael B Jordan didn’t get an Oscar nomination for this performance.
He got a Golden Globe, far more better
@Jason Prendergast thanks! English is not my mother tongue 👍
It's criminal. If he won, I think he would have that level of involvement of the second and the third Creeds.
5:18 is easily the hypest moment of this fight
the motif is placed perfectly
Only thing missing from Creed 3
@@joshwilliams6517 Just saw it yesterday and I'm pretty bummed we never got the horns! But we did get a nice refrain of Gonna Fly Now at the very end, so that's nice at least
@@dasloco121 they dropped Adonis theme also :/ it was incredible and iconic
4:43 "I got to prove it.. That I'm not a mistake." gets me every time
2:26 This part makes me cry every time.
Adonis is DYING at this point, hit harder than he's ever been hit before. And when he has nothing left, not even conscious thought, his heart remembers the most important things in his life. Rocky... Bianca... Mary Anne...
But it his FATHER, the one he never met, who brings him back to life.
4:45 And that look Rocky gives Adonis, it says "The kid's just like me. How did I never realize that?"
The fact that Micheal actually was crazy enough to get actually punched on the face for the boxing match scenes makes this scene 100 times better.
Cause he said they did in slow motion cause if they did a fake punch they would see the miss and it wouldn’t so they told he had take a real punch
It wouldn’t work
By the former Cruiserweight champ Tony Bellew
Stallone called it a rite of passage for the franchise

it gives me chills every time when Rocky says "I love you kid" and Adonis with a breath out says it back real quickly "Love you too."
And also the part where he knocks Ricky down and its a slow mo of him backing up and screaming.
God this movie is so good.
That's what Micky told rocky before he died
@@marcustiggs5361 nice reference, I didn’t remember that
"Throwing body shots like he's Rocky Balboa, going upstairs like he's Apollo Creed." I can watch this movie all day long and that quote will always give me a chill and the hit timed perfectly ugh one of my favorite scenes
This is why the first Creed movie is so much better than the second one. There was so much emotions throughout, especially the little motivational speech Rocky gave before the final round and the music during that part
Creed 2 is still pretty good tho
Yeah, the only real problem with Creed 2 was that one scene from after the last fight that was the ENTIRE POINT OF THE MOVIE, but was cut from the theatrical release and added as bonus DVD content.
Creed 2 made Adonis seem unlikable and the antagonist was actually easy to be empathetic toward. Really didn’t work. First Creed was great.
Just watched Creed 3.
Creed 1 is still the best by far. Just the right mix of nostalgia and emotion.
hell no
5:19.....CHILLS!!! THIS is our anthem of fighting, only those born and raised up in the 70es and 80es understand....
Was born in 2001, but I LOVE to train to that song. So motivating, really makes you feel like Rocky
man rocky was my whole childhood it's impossible for me not to get emotional after that scene. this movie was perfectly written.
I think you’d be surprised how many people born long after you consider this anthem to be as inspiring, heroic, and defining as you do.
The song is timeless. It’s not limited to those born around its release.
@@angelopellicci179 song name?

🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺 🎶
Mikey s words. From the deap past. I love you kid. What a motivating speach.
I just watched rocky for the first time and afterwards I went back to rewatch this clip. The part at the end where rocky tells creed he can call it right now but creed wants to keep fighting to prove that “he isn’t a mistake” hits so hard to rocky’s story in the first rocky film. You can see it in his face after Creed says that he immediately remembers that night on the bed with adrian just saying he wants to just prove to everyone that he isn’t the bum everyone makes him out to be. Right there in that moment when Creed admits he wants to go the full 12 to proves he’s not a mistake, this is when Rocky truly sees himself in creed.
I love the part when Adonis is knocked down and he summons all the fire from his life to get back up. Maybe my favorite movie scene of all time.
When that "Rocky Theme" kicks in...WOW...GOOSEBUMPS.
I really liked Creed 3, but this is undoubtedly one of the greatest sports movies of all time.
4:18 Didn't notice this the first time I watched this. One of the people in Creed's corner taps his neck 4 times then two times to tell him how many fingers the guy is showing up! What a cool little detail!

RIP Carl Weathers 💔 I immediately thought of this scene
This is more motivating than a thousand lectures on the subject.
facts
God, Ryan Coogler made an excellent movie. If I'm being completely honest, it's probably a smidge better than the original Rocky. And people forget how truly good the first one was. The franchise became something different after Rocky II. More of a quintessential 80's action film series. Rocky Balboa was a return to form, but Creed is a classic man. It's f****** incredible, and B. Jordan brought so much heart and vulnerability to the character of Adonis. I cried for him a few times through out the movie. And Stallone has never been better. A broken down Rocky learns to fight again. It's beautiful all around.
Am I the only one that watches this for boxing motivation
Nope
Boi Man
You’re not the only one
Nah. Not at all.
Luv me some boxing.🥊💪🏾
This scene motivation for life period
A man is down in his corner. The spirit knocked out of him.
“Donny get up!”
He feels alone. The weight of the world on his shoulders.
“Get up D!!”
But the simple and most important truth is that he’s never alone.
“Come on baby…”
He has family…friends in his corner that he can lean on. That know as well as he does that he’s not a mistake. Such a damn good movie.
Apollo makes a small feint and says something through his mouthpiece before the camera cuts back to Donnie. Willing his son from the ether. Masterful filmmaking.
The clip of Apollo gets me EVERY TIME....
I relate and got emotional when Adonis said "I gotta prove it. That im not a mistake". My real dad is a real loser and a bad human being. I'm always told I'm just like him. I never had high expectations put on me like my cousins. So i wanna prove to everyone that I'm the best at what I do and i matter. I know im important and i will have an impact on other people's lives in a postive way. no one can tell me otherwise. no one
5:30 epic moment. First "Going on distance" since Rocky II.
So nostalgic
"Throwing body shots like he's rocky balboa going upstairs like he's Apollo creed" one of the BEST lines this whole sequel could have
Either that was great acting or that knockout was real. He went limp.
Dragonfly Dolemite he really did get knocked out lol, he said it in an interview
@@maxwelltruesdalejr855 actually he said he got hit in the face he wasn't knocked out
Props for him for actually taking the hit from a boxer!
Yeah I saw Michael B Jordan said he took one real punch from him
It was real, one of the real punches in the movie, but he wasn’t knocked out
I love when the lights go out & the spotlight is on both fighters, it's a nice tribute & homage to Raging Bull's cinematography
Most definitely. So memorable from raging bull.
3:10 gives me chills everytime
Why? I haven’t watched the movie so can u explain ?
Ferny he’s father died in a match, so seeing his father knowing his lines “get up son” really gives some chills
Hell yeah
He woke up from the dead when he saw his dad for the first time that gave me chills 😲😲😳😳😳😳
5:18 is where the goosebumps happen.
Rest in power Carl Weathers
When he stands up and gonna fly now starts playing I get the chills and tear up every time
So brilliant because that's the 1st time they play it
When I saw Top Gun Maverick for the first time, I felt like I was 8 years old with pure excitement when Danger Zone was in the opening scene.
"He has his daddys heart" did anyone else hear that?❤
I love how this movies soundtrack has the Rocky spirit but has this underground, raw feeling to it
i have tears running down my face during this scene when nobody is looking.
"Cause your a Creed and I love you kid!" They give me Chills. Reminds me of when Mickey told Rocky "I love you kid"
This is still maybe the perfect moment to have used that classic Rocky score. The second installment didn't use it as well, this was just jaw-dropping from Coogler.
I’ve never loved the Rocky theme all that much. But damn if it doesn’t kick you in the gut when he stands up to fight.
It was a perfect moment
Apollo is a movie legend and today we lost the man that brought him to life. Rest easy Carl Weathers.
Rocky yelling “stay down ya bum” at 6:45 always gets me 😂
I saw this in theaters with my brother. When he's knocked out it draws you in. The silence, the visions. But when they showed that grainy moment of Apollo, all the emotions hit you at once. They got it perfect on that one.
When the rocky theme plays I got chills.
Creed is one of the most American movies ever made...even more American than Rocky IV
& that’s saying something
4:22 he’s so real for that
What I love most about this movie is that Conlan is not a bad person. He’s just the opponent.
I mean, he has anger issues but the reason he's so aggressive and mean towards Donnie is because Conlan is about to go to jail and his final opponent is the son of a legendary boxer who only got in because of his father's name. Instead of going out with a bang, he's forced to fight (from his perspective) a rookie who hasn't have much achievements.
Conlan worked his way to the top and for him to fight a newbie because of their name and not their accomplishment is an insult to a fighter like him.
Too bad for him, Donnie managed to achieve what every fighter hasn't done: he managed to knock down Conlan for the first time in his career.
"Throwing body shots like he's Rocky Balboa". CHILLS!
When Adonis said I’m not a mistake I cried powerful words then rocky said your a creed and I love you kid when he stood up I was like let’s goo creed
“You’re gonna knock that son of a bitch down. Do you know why? Because you’re Creed, and I love you kid.”
I really liked the shots of the cutmen seeing the shots their fighters were taking and anticipating what would be needed to treat them and keep them going. A skill/trade many probably never hear or think about.
Creed: gets up
Tyson Fury: hold my dosser
"'cause you're a CREED and I love you, kid." Best short and fast motivation for Adonis he has ever heard in his whole life.
"throwing body shots like he's Rocky Balboa, going upstairs like he's Apollo Creed"
chills
If you don't tear up when that Rocky music cues as he stands up, something's wrong with you.
I was already teared up from the not a mistake line.
When i first saw this move, the Apollo flashback was emotionally impactful. I must say, after learning of Carl's passing, it's ever more poignant. Carl Weathers has been a great role model to many young men.
5:18.. That part in the theatre was just 🔥🔥🔥
