I love how most streaming service are fighting each other, while their arch nemesis, known as piracy, sit on the side having popcorn and mumbled: "dafuq are their problem?"
You left out an important word. Most streaming services are PRETENDING to fight each other. They are not trying to get you to pick them over the competition but rather sub to them as well. Disney owns 66% of Hulu and the remaining 33% is Comcast. They could have bought out Comcast's shares and rebranded it as Disney+ but they made another streaming service instead. If they were actually competing with each other instead of trying for exclusives they would focus on quality of service. No buffering, apps that work, subtitles that show up, a UI that makes it easy to search, censorship(or lack there of), and price are points of actual competition. Instead you sub to one for these shows, another for these shows, and so on until it dwarfs the bill from the cable companies' omniopoly. Hell pirate sites tend to beat the streaming services on most if not all of the criteria I just listed as they use multiple mirrors to distribute the load, don't censor at all, are easy to search, let people have conversations about the show in the comments, have working subtitles, and are free.
Piracy was going down in the starts of streaming wher you had only netflix and crunchyroll. With every major companie needing their one streamingservice is gone up like mad again. And all streaming services are in the red now. We are close to streaming crash many services are deleting like 80% of their content to save on royalitis-
I will never understand why people Ditched DVD and Blu-Rays so easily over Streaming Services like Netflix??? I miss the Special Features section and great selection of Movies to choose from only one vendor or service like Blockbuster, TLA Video or currently (Still in Existence Netflix's Red Envelope). Plus, Blu-Rays give a better picture and sound.
Same thing with physical games at least on PC. You dont own digital movie / game and it can be erased from existence of developers decide that with no copy of it.
it is more convenient to have everything digital. Physical shows and movies, physical games, physical books, physical comics, etc etc. All these take up a ton of space after a while. It is so much more convenient to just go on your hard drive or an online service and search for what you want. When it becomes not convenient is when the shows you want are spread over multiple streaming services, and for many of the shows you do want they are unavailable in your country. I swear licensing for tv shows and movies are despicable. You should not be blocked from watching something on the WORLD WIDE WEB just because you live in a different country. I despise it all. They have 0 respect from me
2018: tv too expensive get netflix? 2020: oh we dont have that show its on another platform 2022: streaming services too expensive? well you cant share passwords
2023: tons of ads you can't skip. I bet you wished you still bought and rented DVD's and Blu Ray movies now, huh? They didn't have ads in the middle of a movie. But you're stuck with streaming watching countless ads! Muahaha!
Streaming Services have done what tv did to kill itself, small bit of content you want to see over a large group of Streaming Services. meaning you want to see only 4 to 7 shows a month you got to pay over 600$ a year vs 70$ in the start. it's getting to the point you have to torrent some shows as it plays nowhere or you do not have 180$+ more a year for 1 or 2 more shows.
If you are after that kind of variety, cable TV is a better option than streaming services. Streaming services only work for people who don't need the variety that cable offers. Last time I had cable I only watched maybe 3 channels outside of sports. For me subscribing to just those 3 channels is going to be cheaper than subscribing to a cable package that includes 120 channels I won't watch. Sounds like that isn't you, so a cable package is likely to be the better option.
The problem with "liking" shows on these streaming services is there is no way to tell them what about the show you particularly liked or why you watched in the first place. Inevitably, they get it wrong, and start recommending shows based on why they think you liked it, presenting many shows you have no interest in, and making it eve harder to find shows you would be interested in.
yeah i hate that part of the feature and it always choose your more recent selection to toss at you. For an example i use amazon prime for the books particular light novel. For whatever reason when i buy one that i do like it give me 2 dozen plus of the one i don't like and no matter how many time i reject it and they keep doing it till i purchase something that isn't a light novel. the feature should be catalogue better. Kinda similar to how RUclips's algorithms seem to utterly fail to understand patterns or context and they refuse to give us the option to be more specific about out "not interested" beyond "I've already seen it" and "I don't like [broad topic the video is about]" as if those are the only reasons to not like a video (and not the format of the video or because the specific content creator is obnoxious in some way). So, say, I want to curate my recommendations to only have educational content, long-form video essays, and news on nerd culture topics (like the MCU, video games, etc), there's no way for me to get it through RUclips's algorithm that I don't want to be recommended meme compilations, random nobodies uploading clips of their "pro-gamer" moves, videos that only exist to cash in on a trend (like the "Characters from show being Y for X mins" crap), clips from random anime or movies that have been reuploaded to countless unauthorized channels, clickbait videos with full-on spoilers (or even using fanart to push rumors as truth) in the titles/thumbnails, reaction videos of any kind, or WatchMojo-style video listicles. For instance, if I see a video in my recommendations of memes or spoilers for a given IP and try to mark it as uninterested because I don't want memes or spoilers, RUclips instead reads it as "I don't want to see content about this subject anymore," and then thinks I changed my mind when I go to find content about those subjects that actually have substance and production values behind them.

And aside from originals, the libraries of all these services are completely different in each and every country. Hulu doesn't even exist where I live. For each show you're getting on Hulu in the US, it's probably on a different streaming service here. And if I move to the next country over, they'd be rehashed again. Or sometimes wouldn't be legally available at all.
I watch RUclips only, having streaming services means you have too many options of shows to choose. You turn them off and end up watching a RUclips video.
I got Apple-I saw the series "For All Mankind", loved it but after that, there was nothing free or compelling so I cancelled. All other content was extra or not interesting.
I actually had to pirate the new Hellraiser as Hulu isn't available here, they didn't release it on blu-ray and Disney who often releases the Hulu shows in Germany doesn't stream it. So eff it.

The streaming services are out to get your money, plain and simple. Say what you want about cable/satellite TV but you have to go beyond the surface level. They want you to get all of these different ones for the promise of variety, Ad-free, and more convenience. One or two won’t hurt you, but if you get 10 of them or even more than that then all of a sudden $20-$25 a month spread out over 10-15 different ones then you’re paying equal to or even more than cable/satellite TV. I’m not saying streaming is the Devil, but it’s something where you have to keep your eyes out on because otherwise you’re paying equal or higher amounts just for extra convenience.
I did record some audio instructions for my classes... I put 4 hard pillows arround my notebook and my phone inside pillow box... And it sounds good actually.
Streaming services are what introduced me to piracy. First it was anime which wasnt accessible easily on any streaming service. Then I realized its more convenient than disc or blu ray. Then I realized how accessible games are as well. Piracy was really hurting, the streaming war really put life back into it. ruclips.net/video/3OyrX11cMkE/видео.html EDIT: To give more detailing if its say Disney, EA, Activison, etc there is no reason to compensate them. Its like giving money to Monsanto/Bayer.

more convinet for normies, maybe? in many cases it is only a one website browser (same as just visting website, same goes for most phone apps) + maybe some tiny optimizations.
'Straight to Blu-Ray' and DRM-Free digital downloads can still be a decent and stable monetary model. Streaming subscriptions services add up where you keep paying but will never own.

Why is there not a app that compiles all the shows you have watched across all streamers. Should also have a good interface where you could put in exactly what type of shows and movie's you are interested in. I mostly look at thumbnails trying to remember if I already watched this. I love streaming but often miss curated content. If I was smarter and knew anything about making apps I would make it
@@Ay-xq7mj It's definitely possible. A company could employ people to log all the films that enter/leave the services, create a frontend that lets you browse all the movies from the different services you subscribe to, then when you choose a movie it launches the corresponding app. Even just sending out spreadsheets or updating a website would do the trick.

This is so stupid. Buy the show? Yeah right, anime alone will run you $40-$80 for a single season on a Blu ray. The complaints about some bugs here and there are so brain dead too. Like how is it a scam to pay for a few streaming services? Your alternatives are pirating, which is wrong but like who actually cares lol. Or buying cable. Actual cable is nowhere near as flexible and costs way more. This just sounds like whining and nitpicking for the most part. Nobody is gonna buy a show or movie they'll only watch once or twice unless they're a hard-core fan or collector. Also that Hidive subtitle issue is something I've personally never had happen to me sooo sounds like a skill issue. Jokes aside I do wanna say, I know there are glaring issues with streaming services, but it is nowhere near as bad as having to rely on cable. Buying physical copies of anything you're interested in can run you what would be multiple months of a streaming subscription, also that last point that was made again about buying the physical copy doesn't even take into account the fact that next to no one is going to just buy a show they've never seen before. What I mean is that with a streaming service, you can just take shots in the dark and try out shows and movies without having to commit a noticeable amount of money, unlike if you buy a copy of a random show or movie. Overall this video feels like mindless complaints and nitpicking with no real solutions, alternatives, or even suggestions to make the platforms better. Like I said, your other 2 options are pirate (which I don't fault anyone for, seriously who cares) or to spend multiple times the amount of a subscription to buy 1 piece of the media they offer.

Hopefully you can come around to knowing that this stuff's out there for free lol. And without the retro censorship that companies like Disney do on them. And without regional restrictions. God, do I love the open sea.
Crunchyroll is a gift with bad wrapping
I apologize if I may sound like the cringe millenial in his 30's that I am, but why don't you simply torrent all of this shit?
You wouldn't get it.
We never stopped buying Blu-ray, DVD and 4K's. DVD's are upscaled on most players and there's no issue with picture quality. We have literally two-thousand+ movies and series' in our collection, with discs in 16 ring binders, plastic cases binned, and the collection managed on a simple spreadsheet. Takes up no space at all.
Most of our movies are not on any streaming service as have been the best movies and series we have ever watched.
We hate woke and haven't streamed anything for years.
It’s gotten out of hand
I’m not going to buy any show or movie on physical media on the chance I’ll like it. That is not affordable and would require way to much space I don’t have. I buy stuff on physical when it is something that I want to have on hand to watch whenever and not need to rely on streaming. If I’m curious about a show or movie, I will watch it on a streaming service or possibly rent it digitally, if not available on my services
Why you continue to pay if you think they suck??
I can't even remember whose email and password I'm using have just about all the streaming services unlocked I have no idea whose accounts I programmed
Even then I'm still watching f****** RUclips cuz there is more choice
I don't know why people go ape shitt for streaming services
Sounds like a shity version of cable
It’s kinda the only way we can watch some shows without ads
The most useful streaming service to exist is RUclips, It supports everything including TV these days.
No not really. Adblock + any free streaming site replaces catalogue of every streaming service.
Due to the recession and being crazy underqualified to get hired ANYWHERE I cant afford online streaming and torrent all my shows and anime. I hate my 20's. 😔😔😔
Even though it may be a pain in the ass to do it that way. I eventually reverted back to streaming and ripping TV and movies straight off the web
it's just cheaper and you know ...screw them
You never really have that much to watch that isn't absolute garbage or produced by their own platform so you know it's absolute dogshit
@@YouFallenforit I guess
Stop being a virgin watching anime and find a job.
@@lockout125 you dont know me.
Good. You don't deal with ads nor recommendation
First time viewer here. I wouldn’t have known this was your first spoken video. You did a solid job; keep it up.
Subbed. This channel's got potential if he maintains or improves this level of quality
Streaming = little bang for big bucks ! And it Will keep going up in price guaranteed
He loves to waste money. Most people only have 2 or 3. Many studies have backed it up.
Honestly Crunchyroll is the only streaming service I pay for. If I'm not watching anime then I'm watching RUclips.
I've never had an issue involving subtitles on Hi-Dive. So it's been my anime streaming platform for almost a year now.
Been mine for multiple years, never had that issue
I watch RUclips only, having streaming services means you have too many options of shows to choose. You turn them off and end up watching a RUclips video.
I got Apple-I saw the series "For All Mankind", loved it but after that, there was nothing free or compelling so I cancelled. All other content was extra or not interesting.
I actually had to pirate the new Hellraiser as Hulu isn't available here, they didn't release it on blu-ray and Disney who often releases the Hulu shows in Germany doesn't stream it. So eff it.
And this is why i just play video games.
having wifi at home is probably the only best money decision, the speed always best from home and yearly it costs 3 months rent
Love your presentation and dry humour (with just the right number & perfectly delivered cuss words- )- &this was your 1st talk with mike type of vid- ??... well ill go so far as to say you have untapped potential for the performing arts🤩
When did he get to the part explaining why it's a scam?
Showed up on my recommended-on YT, really well, surprised you didn't have more subs
Do zoomers not know about WCO?
I love you background comments 😂
This was just as good a watch as the movie/TV RUclipsr channels who have been doing it for years
Laughs in multiple 4TB hard drives
I did record some audio instructions for my classes... I put 4 hard pillows arround my notebook and my phone inside pillow box... And it sounds good actually.
Streaming services are what introduced me to piracy. First it was anime which wasnt accessible easily on any streaming service. Then I realized its more convenient than disc or blu ray. Then I realized how accessible games are as well. Piracy was really hurting, the streaming war really put life back into it. ruclips.net/video/3OyrX11cMkE/видео.html
EDIT: To give more detailing if its say Disney, EA, Activison, etc there is no reason to compensate them. Its like giving money to Monsanto/Bayer.
subbed! This was a good take. 👍
Reject streaming return to cable
Seriously am I crazy for not feeling like choosing what to watch
And just want to turn on the tv while I'm doing shit
They are going to have a server fire or virus that wipes out all of the movies one day.
All the classics wiped off the map.
Also DO NOT subscribe to HBO max. You'll never be able to cancel it. I'm still trying. I even removed the card and they're still charging it.
I only have it because it came with my Internet of AT&T, otherwise I wouldn’t have it at all.
@@lakerskid2013Probably because they were owned by AT&T until 2022.
@@glassowlie Oh wow, I had no idea
Very well done and informative.
Remember when dropping cable saved money?
Still does. I pay $8 per month for Crunchyroll to watch ad-free anime. When was any cable package that cheap?
or just pirate all lol
Arghhhhhh matey
You can add cable services to the scam.
Akiba Maid War is better to watch Physical.
Sadly I don't think I would ever see a physical release of any Sentai Filmworks licensed anime due to them not having any physical distribution in my country anymore.
0:51 this song is reminding me of Bomb Rush Blush Calie's song from Splatoon 1 idk why.
This is what torrents are for -- and have been for 20 years.
True. Depending on what you like and where you live it´s hard to find quality ones in your language though.
Honestly I was just stick with the free streaming services they got some pretty good content
So what was the thing negative about streaming?
Streaming is getting too BIG now lol.
Fifteen men on a dead man's chest, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum
Awesome awesome video fam,new Sub here
Bro, the netflix original content is cancer and the stuff that's half decent gets cancelled after 1 season
Crunchy roll had a show where they ONLY HAD SEASON 3?!
Just bought the dvd from eBay instead now 🎉
What's the benefit of downloading the streaming service "app" over going to the website?
more convinet for normies, maybe? in many cases it is only a one website browser (same as just visting website, same goes for most phone apps) + maybe some tiny optimizations.
@@chimagamer4157 Do people really say "normie" unironically?
@@LamarINH no, usually more used by people that want to imply superiority because of their taste, actions, ...
'Straight to Blu-Ray' and DRM-Free digital downloads can still be a decent and stable monetary model.
Streaming subscriptions services add up where you keep paying but will never own.
Nyaa is my favourite anime streaming service 😉
If it gets too much, start sailing the Grand Line looking for the One Piece.
Yes buy physical media :).
No
Physical media
I f****** hate digital media it's like buying a business then turns out you were only a franchise and you only have the rights to use it not to keep it
That's a f****** scam
on high dive they finally put some subs on those show they forgot to translate you may want to go back and recheck. of course most of the show i wanted ot watch i already seen from pirate site cause i couldn't wait
There is nothing more pathetic than self censorship.
Why is there not a app that compiles all the shows you have watched across all streamers. Should also have a good interface where you could put in exactly what type of shows and movie's you are interested in. I mostly look at thumbnails trying to remember if I already watched this. I love streaming but often miss curated content. If I was smarter and knew anything about making apps I would make it
Not possible due to how they are designed.
@@spaceghostcqc2137 I think the main hang-up would be the streaming companies not really wanting to cooperate with your competitor I don't think they would want to ease access to anyone else's streaming service but there's
I'm fairly certain they would be that petty
One of those things that should be happening that probably won't because of selfishness and greed
🤘Nice RUclips handle 👍
ever heard of imdb, they probably offer these features just have to mark them manually
Yep you're right me I can't afford this shift I'll just deal with satellite and broadcast TV with an antenna. I'm good and Blu ray and movie theaters. I'm a poor sob.
I don’t think it’s being poor, if anything you might be doing yourself more of a favor considering that if you wanted the maximum experience in terms of variety of shows or movies, you’d be paying equal to if not even more than cable/satellite TV if you’re paying for 10-15 different streaming services, ad-free and all.
@@SuperLeandro4563 Me too which is why for RUclips I have Premium and I have a few free streaming services but I don’t go on them much
Damn how come your shorts recommendation is exactly same as mine 😂
Now I'm starting to question whether in want a TV at all? I watch Local sports but its the same problem only worse
Wow, this is an insanely underated channel. I hope you get more subscribers
I don’t like anything digital because of ownership reasons.
well i've got netflix and prime accounts and still i spend less than what i was spending when i was renting/buying movies a long time ago. (at least here in italy)
Some things are available, that’s why I pirate things
Please don’t kill me I have to pirated my show, I’m not doing crunchyroll under my dead body
Idc to have a physical copy or special experience, I just wanna watch the thing and enjoy, and this where pirating is just as gud
Crunchyroll-where they don’t even care if you don’t have subs. You just have to wait.
As soon as you said that Netflix has quality, it spoiled my view of the entire video
Great Vid!
I only pay for RUclips because I can learn so much from creators about topics that’s I’m interested in. In a way if feels like a very affordable online University.
I do not use hidive through prime and do not have this issue.
Akiba Maid War was so freaking fun
All i learnt from this video is…
Maid War seems pretty fun
Tubi is awesome imo and it's free I also love Shudder which is only $5 a month
You maybe encouraged me foe doing my 1st YTB video. I thought it is silly... But who knows, it could turn up good as yours.
I'm totally a RUclips person:)
You used the Microsoft Store. 🤣🤣🤣
Streaming Services Inferior
Piracy Superior.
Im cable access at this point. I watch all the free stuff 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ and a ton of youtube.
Netflix + RUclips Premium + Piracy
I've just unsuscribed from Netflix last month.
Crunchyroll is the best, simply because it has episode comments
HBOMax is probably my favorite steamer lol
