@waveboy plug Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to watch! I’ll see what Apple provides in the next generation of MacBook Pro. The M1 Max has been very good to me and I don’t see a need to update quite yet.
Nice! Mine is pretty basic with a small, hidden USB-C Hub for using the 16" M1 Pro MacBook or iPad Air 5 as desktop, my iPhone and iPad is mostly charged via a (with sun power charged) 100Wh powerbank. With a good old higher end 24" 16:10 aspect ratio screen its pretty decent, tho i still have a 2nd desktop/competetive gaming setup with a proper PC (i7 4790k, GTX 1050 Ti) and 1440p 165Hz 24" screen (ugly contrast and colors, but fast and not smearing) On the go i often use Sidecar with the iPad, sometimes with USB-C connected to the Mac since there isnt proper WLAN to allow iPadOS and Mac os to communicate fast enough.
That sounds like a pretty nice setup! I switch between side car and universal control a lot. I need to check out a sun charged power bank. I’m working on a gaming setup and plan to make a video when it is all worked out. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and sharing your setup with us!
@@DelonteM dont get solar powerbanks i have two notebook powerbanks with 65W in and out and we have a 7kW peak PV system which i charge my devices and powerbanks on the day beside the small 5kWh PV battery And its not too bad… 5kWh proper storage and additionally i have multiple powerbanks, a DIY one with 0,8kWh, 2x this 100Wh (or 0,1kWh) notebook powerbank beside two smaller ones with wireless charging for the phone. Basically slightly above 1 kWh additional capacity for smaller stuff we also plan to get something like a bluetti powerstatio, just smaller and more affordable with 1,5-2kWh as camping storage or real emergency powerbank because USB-C only is not really a good power standard (unlike 110 or 230V AC)
Im not on the Apple ecosystem. But this looks really great. Really, your home setup and on the road set up is almost the same once you have it all connected together. Thats the best thing about doing the ecosystem what you do on one device, the other will show it.
Welcome back! Being able to make this setup portable was game changing for me and what I do! I’m currently working on a gaming setup and was looking at the Asus setup you were talking about a while ago. I’ll put together a video once I get it up and running.
@DelonteM Nice! I was going to ask you about that. I just wasnt sure if you were into gaming or not. I recently purchased a Steam Deck to add to my setup since all my pc games are on Steam.
@Angel Sales Yea, I’m into gaming. I’ve been using the PlayStation 4 for a while, finally got my hands on a PlayStation 5, but looking to get a PC setup since a lot of games are crossover PC and PlayStation anyway. I’m still in the planning process right now, but will definitely show case it when it is ready. I may even do videos to show where I am in the process… We’ll see if people are into that… I’ll check out the Steam Deck as well. I’m kind of excited to get it rolling!
@DelonteM i would love to see what you do. I own the PS4 which i have in the living room, a Nintendo Switch OLED that i use while at work, now im with the Steam Deck (battery life is not great with AAA games so a battery pack is recommended), my gaming Tablet (mainly for travel) and gaming laptop (in my room). Really the devices are used depending on what im doing and where i am at. My main one is my gaming phone ROG Phone 6D Ultimate since im on CODM mostly
The M2 Air is a really nice piece of tech! A friend of mine has it and has nothing but positive things to say about it. A lot more reviews on Macs coming down the pipe. Welcome to the team!
I would rather recommend getting a refurbished M1 Air (pretty much the same and its missing like the M2 Air Mini-LED as well HDR and 120Hz anyways) and additionally a iPad Air (5?!). I had for over a year a 16" M1 Pro MacBook Pro for studying and some private stuff like usage as astrophotography computer/controller for guiding, plate solving etc, and its for most stuff just awesome with its all day long battery runtime and fully capable Mac OS. I was always thinking, as "small and light" it is for its power, screen and battery size its not really portable (same goes for anything with usable big screen!), but the iPad additionally showed me: 16" was the BEST DECISION.... big enough and highly capable laptop and a small and LIGHT tablet. But since i got for studying the iPad Air, mainly for drawing/note/pdfs... i changed my habits extremely. Unless i can make use of the 16" screen, Mac OS, keyboard and trackpad, battery, etc. for sure im super happy with the iPad as mobile device, my MacBook is more often at home since i dont need 16" or any other awesome advantages like the speakers, battery etc all the time. Unless you can absolutely say you dont need touchscreen/pen support at all or a REAL MOBILE EXPERIENCE i would just recommend gettng an iPad instead (or replace the iMac with a MacBook Air and get an iPad additionally.
@@harrison00xXx The iPad has definitely made my on the go needs a lot easier. A lot of times I can get away with taking the iPad and be good to go. I do a lot of video editing, photo editing, and just started with music a bit, so when I was finally able to get a similar desk setup on the go was game changer for me. I think the setup in the video is if you really need a similar setup like what you have at home. Other times my iPad Pro has been fully capable of getting things done, especially with LumaFusion, DaVinci Resolve, and the new Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad. The M1 Macs are still very powerful, which is why I didn’t upgrade to the M2 as of yet. We’ll see what the next chip brings, but I have been able to get everything I need done without much compromise. The M1 Air with an iPad could be a great setup as well. The M1 Air is still a very powerful device, especially if you can get a really good deal on a new or renewed version. Again, I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!
@@harrison00xXx Thank you very much for your input means a lot 🥹, I shall now look into purchasing an m1 air. Pricing will be much better as well as I get student discount 😏
@@h.uddin2006 as student you cant go wrong with MacBook Air and any iPad Just make sure you have already or plan in the near future a proper desktop setup with a single USB-C cable to connect your MacBook to! Even my 16“ M1 Pros screen isnt really enough for proper work and especially for multitasking, scientific research etc where i just need my 24“ Desktop Monitor 16“ might be awesome as standalone computer on the go, combined with an iPad and sidecar its already pretty good for even more space demanding work but not even close to a single 24“+ hi res screen
