Hi pals: had a great week in Barcelona and tested out duel display remote working. What do you think of Apple's universal control?! WATCH THIS NEXT for my Everyday Productivity Essentials: ruclips.net/video/K32xtbzWSOI/видео.html
As a primarily Windows/Android user I am still amazed at the seamless integration of Apple devices with each other. Hope one day I will have the financial means to build a setup of my own 💸
Yeah, it’s wonderfully integrated, but also very closed as a system right?! I grew up on my dad’s original Macintosh so i’ve been Apple for life! Haha - seriously - I was like the daughter in the Steve Jobs film drawing a painting on the Mac with a happy face. :)
No worries - thought it was a good one to mention you and your universal control vid: I don’t want to load the BETA! 🤦♂️😂 Yeah, loving the stream deck joys.
Great video! I use an iPad Pro daily and just picked up a MacBook Pro. This video opened up so many possibilities I didn’t know existed! This is gonna make my work so much easier!
Great video Simon! I have the last generation iPad Pro and it is an excellent bit of kit (but for the work I do will probably always be a PC guy) I do use a MX Master mouse now that does help switch between devices that bit quicker (if I do use it as a side monitor) but sometimes I do find it a bit of a distraction. (I already also have a HUION graphics tablet I set as a permanent side display so at least for me I have been trying to focus more on just having the one screen). I think the other reason I am trying to change this a bit is I have a nice little laptop that I would like to use more on an evening but because I'm so used to having an ultrawide + the HUION so I end up just staying in my studio! Ideally I think I would love to get rid of the dependence on a second screen altogether. Main thing I wouldn't be able to do without is for a reference library. One thing I have setup today on my MX Master is using the gesture display to switch virtual desktops which feels really intuitive after a while :) I have also discovered today is going back to Vivaldi as my main browser is a game changer for Notion! Having a web panel at the side you can just open for your inbox (or calendar) is brilliant and less of a faff than arranging windows all the time.
Hey Simon! What are your thoughts on 2 iPads vs 1 iPad and a portable Espresso display for portability? There’s about a $700 difference but it money wasn’t an option what do you think? Love the videos and Notion nerdiness!🙌
Thanks Jessica! Interesting ! that's a new one... I'd question two ipads for the money - better to invest in a larger display perhaps, depends what your use case is!
Unfortunately nothing beats a desk setup. But being minimalist while travelling is so much better. I personally have a 14 inch Max with a nice small laptop stand and a couple of power banks that can power me for a couple of days of work along with Airpods pro for calls. I do have an iPad pro but that's just extra clunk to carry around. Keeping it simple.
If you don’t mind me asking, which power banks do you use? I could really use one for a MacBook Pro 14 inch and iPad Pro 12.9 inch sidecar / universal control setup… but I still haven’t been able to find a good one
@@homosapien6031 The ones that are valid to carry on airlines are up to 20 mah. Just get a 2-3 of those. That should cover you for more than a day worth of solid work on your laptop.
I wonder if there is a Mac with numerical keyboard because I love use it as number/mouse switcher and it's hard to me to use top row numbers. Great video.
I travel about 8-9 months per year and these are some great tips and suggestions. I have an M1 13” MacBook Pro, but I still have a rather old iPad Air 2 from 2015… Do you know if the dual screen setup works with something that old??

Thanks for the shoutout Simon! Thanks for hinting the Elgato app too 😊

Ah nice - exactly the kind of comment I was hoping to read! Happy new possibilities! Welcome to the channel :)
great video and charisma

Ah thanks - great to have you Holly - welcome to the BC community! :)
That mouse.. I love it, awesome video!
Haha - sexy mouse !
Loved the tips. Super helpful. Trying this out right now 😀
Ah nice - thanks Milan - happy duel screening! Can’t wait for universal control to turn up on full iOS!
I need to take this class!

Nice! Thanks for sharing - the browser is interesting particularly! :)
You look like Jason Stetham but with hair😂
what a stunning video, thanks
You are welcome!
I love your video, thanks for the info.
Thanks pal!
Love your channel! :)
Thank you! welcome to the BC community pal

Coool ... but the best thing you didn't mention at all? Or did I miss it? The iPhone Quadlock case and phone ring/stand. EPIC.
Haha - good point - I don’t mention it here - needs to go into a future EDC video! … or maybe my Beeline Moto!
Awesome video bro!
Thanks pal!
Very intriguing mouse! I thought you broke it when you were snapping it on and off 😂
Haha - it’s fun.
Yes. This is exactly what Im looking for. Portable setup with a mac and also setup in small desk, since other people usually have rly big fesk
Yeah totally - works great in my back pack this week. My desk is tiny too!
At varsity I can setup a dual 13” inch workspace from my backpack and unleash the flexibility 💪🏼
I see people with an iPad or a MacBook Pro/air but having all the apples in your basket is truly amazing
What’s the iPad case you’re using at 2:50? Neat little upside down trick
It’s just the original keyboard case. Works nicely that.
Great options. I like it.

Nice. Almost same setup with m1 iPad air 5.
Great stuff.
Nice!
What we chatted about! 😁👍🏼
Wooop!

Nice - it might if you have the newer OS that supports it - otherwise you can use a 3rd party app like ‘duet display’. Good luck! :)
Is there an App to color calibrate the iPad?
Is it possible to add a IPad Air 3rd gen as second monitor to a MacBook Pro M1 ?
What monitor is that please?
It’s a BenQ : here’s my video on it :) ruclips.net/video/F5YgsCT44kY/видео.html - links in description
Never got the Microsoft mouse to work …. At least not smoothly
That sucks pal. Write to them - mine has been fine…
Great info, but almost too much for one video. But them, I’m of an older generation and don’t learn as fast anymore. I’ll check out your links.
Ah thanks - tried to make it an intro overview video - always a balance on pace and details - thanks for the feedback. :)
Where can I download the wallpaper?
it's on the new macbooks.
@@BetterCreating Thanks!
Pretty poor video imho, just a load of ‘look what I have’ 🥴
